Thank you. And yes! He was surprised and mentioned after that he wasn't sure about doing the interview. But really did appreciate the questions and gave us props for doing our research. Especially with TC5! Thanks for the Comment!
I KNOW THIS IS 7 YEARS AGO,BUT WIGGLES IS MY BOY AND HIS WORDS TO THIS DAY ARE FACTS.HE IS ONE OF THE MOST HUMBLE HUMANS REPRESENTING THE TRUE CULTURE.HE HAS EMBRACED THIS THING OF OURS AND HAS MADE IT A TOTAL WORK OF ART. MUCH RESPECT TO WIGGLES TC5...
Like your style love your realist in your dancing I am 54 yrs old been dancing a long time but still got alot to learn . Thanks for all your yrs.of dancing from Kentucky much love
Very interesting, one of the best interviews I have ever heard. I wish this was longer, but as it went on I thought that it would be great if Mr. Wiggles wrote a book about the realism in his day, and wondered why he never did, but he explained why he has not, and I very much respect that, but I still wish . When all the OGs are gone I would like to have references of what it was really like to live the life back in the days, how things evolved, the culture, etc. I do not want all this to be lost . I will rewatch this many many times.
This is one of the best interviews on the art and culture of Hip-Hop I've ever seen. The questions and Wiggles' answers were totally on point. Thank you to the reporter and Wiggles. Excellent job! ✌🏾 #WiggleItJustALittleBit
Yo I JUST WENT BACK TO THE LEG SLAP FOOT STOMP WHERE HE WAS TALKING ABOUT THE SYNCOPATION I TURNED IT UP RAN IT THRU MY SYSTEM N EQ IT N I SWEAR IT SOUNDS LIKE HES PLAYING A CAJUN BOX....DOPE...SAMPLE FLIP IF YOU HAVE YO MPC OR WHATEVER MAKE A DRM KIT OUT OF IT I SURE AS HELL WILL...LOL.. THANKS WIGZ..PEACE P
Mr wiggles is nothing but a massive LEGEND of bboying and hippop.. He was the very first generation of pioneers that bought moves out to bboying and he developed his own moves like the spider etc .. an absolute legend .. his dance moves esp in his prime in his 20s waz unreal.
Yeah wigz didnt like how mr wave was the only popping boogie dancing where rock steady was all breaking even though they had a positive scene with the TREACHEROUS 3 FEATURING DOUG E FRESH. I REMEMBER WHEN HE STATED THAT YRS BACK ON WIGZ.BIZ. YEP. From the movie beat street LOVE the movie was one of my favorites till theres more to absorb lol. Can ya stomach it all those who really wish to stay DEDICATED
I saw met Mr wiggles in 83 after he made beat street at Gerrard avenue South bronx just corner of Yankee stadium ofc the old stadium ... such a humble dood back then and now .
BECAUSE HES LIVED HIS OWN SHIT TO BRING TO THE TABLE NO COPY CAT WITH NO LIFE EXPERIENCE YEAH ITS THAT WAY FOR REAL RECONIZE REAL N REAL RECONIZE FAKE... YEAH IM WITH YA PEACE.
I respect this bro right here , he hit everything on the nose never seen this interview but I respect everything he says I grew up the same way even though he from the Bronx n I'm from bklyn the similarities are the same inonly wiggles twice once with fable in the Roxas another time in coney Island but he a legend in dance n hip hop world love this interview gotta interview more down 2 earth bros like him
great thanks alot for putting that up stuff like that belongs in history schools if you ask me if we need to know where we are coming from to figure out where we wanna go from here
The strength of a hip hop movement in a certain place around the world really boils down to the amount of education people have on the matter. I live in the UAE and the movement here is still really young (in terms of community spirit) with many people just going on their own way. Its more centered on bboying and new style (many of the dancers here are from the youtube generation) and we rarely ever get together in full force (I'm relatively new here though, so there's always something you're yet to see). But I think if we had a little more education on the matter, then we'd know the context alot better and our scene would be stronger. Great interview! Keep spreading the knowledge :)
didnt know that New York felt that respect for Los Angeles poppers and lockers. wiggles is right because i ran into boogaloo shrimp and he said he went to new york to battle the best guys. because back in the 70's and 80's LA was getting down!!
Interesting how he pointed out how in the early days no one was viewing Hip Hop/dancing as a "way out". It was too new back then and I guess no one knew what was going to come of the dancing, graffiti and rapping in the 70's and early 80's.
American music forms: Spirituals, Blues, Ragtime, Jazz, Country, Gospel, Bluegrass, Folk, Rock n Roll, Doo-Wop, Soul, Funk, Disco, Punk, House and of course Rap and Hip Hop---all enjoy well documented African American roots coupled with undeniable Black American influence---whether directly or indirectly.. Latinos -- Puerto Ricans particularly -- please explain how you co-created or co-invented yet another installment in the legacy of Black Musical expression known as Rap and Hip Hop, yet didn't co-create or co-invent any of the elements of the 14 or so African American music forms that predated it? Or why you were nowhere to be found and absent during the creative and inventive foundation outlining the forms of African American musical expression, brilliance and greatness throughout, or even prior to the previous 14 or so African American music forms that are mentioned above yet then, all of a sudden--out of nowhere, you folks come along and claim you co-created and co-invented Rap and Hip Hop 50/50 half n half (which is the evidence-free and utter nonsense being peddled by Dr. Derrick Colon, Fat Joe and numerous un-informed latinos---claims you all never mentioned or verbalized during its inception in the early 1970's)---latinos claims of "50/50--half & half co-creation and co-invention just don't add up---it makes no sense and are increasingly becoming scrutinized and debunked--widespread. Make it make sense Latinos
Props to the interviewer. He actually did research and asked some dope questions which Wiggs obviously appreciated.
Thank you for seeing and commenting on the the work ~
