One of the things that make your videos so accessible to those who haven't studied Geology is when you explain things using familiar, concrete analogies, as in the Avocado turning brown. My favorite is the fruit rollup and the Nerds to explain the structure of Lichen. Cheers.

This is such a lovely compliment thank you so much - that is my goal to make things accessible, glad to know it's working

Great Video. Liked how you simply explained the creation of sedimentary rock(brownstones) by comparison of stacked books. That helped me visualize the process and result. Thanks

Killer video, and you explained the failed Rift Valley incredibly well. I was busy around the house, listening, and followed along very easily.
Also, since I was mostly listening, I wasn’t expecting to see you in the video at a desk, and I’ve got to say, you have gorgeous eyes. Hope your travels are safe, I’m sure in geology you get to see a ton of the world. 🤙🏼

    Love it!!!
I'm in Western NY, and it's so nuts, when I'm walking the Caz, Buffalo, or Seneca creek beds, I find these fossilized mats of tiny Crinoids, clam like things, trilobites, and sponges!
It kinda breaks my brain thinking about how old these little sh*ts are! ✌

Really cool that you are making these videos! I have been looking for information on the intersection of masonry and geology! You should down to Newport RI, there are so many amazing dry stone wall. While you are in that are you could make a video on Beavertail State Park!!

@@Geobeck Yeah it's amazing right! I went there twice this summer, a friend moved to the area.
I also really liked your video on biodiversity and bedrock! I am definitely going to check out Bartholomew's Cobble. 41 types of ferns!! I may loose my mind! I have an ecological landscaping company, out of Cambridge Ma, so I am really into plants in addition to rocks. I know way more about plants though. I can't tell you how often I am in the woods and wish I knew someone who could answer my geological questions! So looking forward to watching more of your video!

Thank you for the knowledge. Is the Connecticut failed rift structurally different from the mid-continental rift?

Materials found on site are better adapted to their environment and hold better.
