I have a 2019 tracker 190 with a mercury 115 pro xs with power poles, 2 garmins at the console, 2 at the bow with livescope, 80lb motor guide tour pro trolling motor, installed lights on the deck and the boxes and I can’t even sale it for 25,000…..🤣🤣
I run a 2015 Triton 17tx w/75hp mercury 4 stroke. Its been an awesome boat and does around 40mph. Picked one up lightly used for $13k with 36hrs on the motor.... left plenty of room to drop money on electronics and upgrades.
I've not owned either brand. But I have done recarpet jobs on a bunch of them and have seen them torn down to the skeletons, and plywood so to speak. Bass tracker = cheapness and rivets everywhere. Lowe= just a little bit better than BT but not a lot.
We have a 2015 Tracker Pro 170 that we bought used in 2018 for $15,000. Obviously it's not a superb boat and you will laugh that we have it, but it gets my son and I out fishing multiple times every week.
For a budget boat all you need is a “good” hull and trailer, I’d find a 10 to 15, maybe 20 year old 20+’ performance bass boat with a recently blown (junk) 2 cycle ob. You’re gonna replace the engine with a 4 stroke and the tm with a spot lock and the sonars with a forward anyway. Do a video on setting up a boat like that... on a budget.
The problem with a lot of boats that age is wooden stringers and transoms that weren't designed for the added weight of our modern four stroke outboards. But it would be cool to see a video of a 20yr old boat's transom breaking off on the highway and a new mercury 300r skidding along to the graveyard where it belongs 🤣
I would pick the Lowes out of the two. But would rather pay $900 more for a H17 Xpress with 0.125 thick hull, Yamaha 90hp, and Minnkota TM with aluminum wheels and trailer. And you guys made coffee fly out my nose when started talking about cool factor.
@@kurtheidelbach Thanks for reaching out. Still on the hunt for a new boat it won't be Lowes or Xpress. Thinking Seaark/Suzuki now, setup for multi-fishing. Tight lines.

Awesome channel. I live in central Il not much to fish here but we have a few state lakes that 25hp. We all run 17’ “tin” boats. Old 2 stroke Suzukis rule the land.
Cool factor would be a bay liner with a force outboard, inbetween the nitro and tracker, pulled by a rusted out truck. Take your pick, any of the big three.
I had a tracker 195 first year it came out. Junk build quality, livewell pump out hose leaked into the bilge, and the only way to repair was to cut a hole in the deck and reattach (great design lol). It worked ok, the mercury 150 4 stroke was great, but at the end of the day for the money I should've just bought a used glass boat. That thing rode awful in rough water (talking nose bleeds and sore kidneys). I ended up trading it in for my nitro z20 and have been pretty happy with it so far (except for the stupid touchpad controls). I have a feeling though, if I would've bought a used fiberglass 19-20 foot used boat instead of my tracker, I would still be in it. Especially if it had a yamaha 4 stroke motor, and was a quality brand like a ranger or basscat. That said, I'm still not convinced aluminum bass boats are a good option. I know guys that have had xpress and crestliner bass boats literally fall apart on them. I think if you are going aluminum, a deep V is a better option as it can take waves much better than a flatter bottom boat. Funny story about triton not giving you a wiring diagram. I had the same issue when my touchpad / ecu went out in my nitro. I called and they would not help at all. While ultimately my dealer did replace it for free even though it was out of warranty, I ordered a spare touchpad/ecu and had to backdoor the part number through a sketchy website and order the parts directly from the Canadian electronics company who made them lol.
That stinks about your first Tracker. To the 2nd part if i went with a tin rig i'd go with a GatorTrax and that's it. Crazy about the 3rd part and having to get it through that sketchy site
@@TeamMarineService Gator trax seems to be the only one durable enough as a bass boat. That said, unless you are a skinny water junkie who somehow needs a full size boat, for the same price you can get into a fiberglass boat that rides much better I'm sure.

Thx for the vids guys! Curious your opinion on the change in quality of the welded Trackers over time. Have they gotten better or worse? I’ve been looking at a 2006 era Tournament V18 that is in near new condition. Read a lot of positive comments on that model, but don’t know if the build quality was better back then or not. Thx again!
Early 1990’s Brunswick marine group made a decent boat. Spectrum, StarCraft, fisher, or Monark. They were riveted back during that time period that was common for Tracker, Lowe, alum craft, and other players. I paid $5,995 new in 1991 with 25 hp. Ran 28 Mph with two people. It was my first boat I could have got it with a 40 Hp Force $500 more or $1,500 more 40 Hp Mariner ELPTO&T. I ended up adding Galv trailer and 40 Hp Mariner. Boat went 37 to 41 mph. Out of 21 boats from a champion to present Tracker Grizzly. It was the best boat for my needs. - economical - all aluminum - easy to clean - cheap on gas - not much to break it was simple. I had two river leaks. They took that boat back to Mississippi $0 cost to me and fixed it, repainted the boat and restickered it like new. We could fish at night after college classes in the Atchafalya spillway for bass 5 days a week for $20 gas including gas in the Nissan truck and case of bush beer for $7, got food from campus meal hall to go, and still had fun. Inshore trips and bass trips we used that boat no problem. Use that boat more than any boat I owned and put more fish in it. Now my friend got the same boat with 40 hp Force. Lol! A few years back someone stole it. Next day they brought it back with $100 taped to the engine with food stamps as they felt he needed it as a force owner. Lol!!!!! Force lol!!!!!!
I have run a tracker 175 for two years, just had my 2 year maintenance on it (220hrs). No problems on the merc 75 and the boat. And I’ve run it through the stumps of Toledo bend and Sam Rayburn. Leaf spring just broke, but my dealer got it repaired same day. They are probably why I’ll get a nitro.
So im completely new to boats and im looking for something on Facebook that might be easy to resell later if I want to upgrade right now my coworker has a 16ft v bottom jon boat with fish finder and 45hp motor with trolling motor for 1800 is it a good deal? Can I resell it when it comes time to upgrade? Should I look for others and if so what should I look for?
The Lowe Stinger 178 has really advanced and hope some of the other tin rig manufactures step up to the plate. Takes a 115hp engine. Has an actual custom trailer that supports storage of less than 20ft. Most manufactures have generic trailers and terrible storage on their tin rigs. Then there is great aft room for power poles, batteries, charges etc. Bass Tracker, Ranger and other 175/78's are terrible in this area. It is also a padded hull and one of the few in the 178 lenght.
My Skeeter dealer also Sold Lowe boats and said they were terrible when it comes to fixing warranty work. At one point point he stopped carrying the brand after repairing several for customers that Lowe would not fix!
Interesting! Good to know. I have been trying to get some information and they don't even have contact info on their website like most manufacturers. Everything goes through the dealer and of course they don't know the relevant information.
Gator Trax Strike Series bass boat are 0.190"-0.195" thick hulls and frame structure I believe. Thats over 3/16". But they are expensive. It's a custom built boat, how the customer wants it. 20 ft. and 21ft. I want one really bad, but need to win lottery first
Could you do a starter bass boats around $10k? I’m in south Mississippi and have always had flat bottoms but my wife and I are thinking of a bass boat to fish bigger lakes and bays on the gulf.
Add in the xpress H17 to your comparison. I have an H18 and so far so good 🤞🏻. I looked at both the stinger 185 and tracker 195, xpress is better build quality for same BASE price.
You can buy a pretty decent used glass boat for 30k and be way happier at the end of the day. Then people will say “but it doesn’t have a warranty if it’s old” well it doesn’t matter if bass pro doesn’t honor the damn warranty anyways. I vote used glass boat for the win.
they arent bad pices considering the market. i think unless you are looking for a complete turn key it still makes so much more sense to find a good used hull and then purchase a new motor. you can redo the hull and build it to your fishing or boating needs and as long as it floats you are good. then financing a much smaller amount for a good new merc or yami gives you the peace of mind you wont get stuck out there with a used motor
How about a Brand Battle between G3 and Xpress? If I’m going with an aluminum bass boat around the 30K mark I’m looking at the G3 Sportsman or Xpress Hyper-Lift series.
G3 is absolute junk. Chine welds are pathetic and their QC on the flooring seams is nonexistent. I looked at three new ones at a local dealer, 1610, 1710, and 1810 plus a pre owned 1810. Four boats and they were all the same poor quality.
Hey Andy love what y’all do really enjoy it and laugh my ass off ! I was wondering what you know about Alweld boats? Are they like aluma crap ? Lol . Trust your options.
I like my 175txw, the thing I dont understand is why its hp rating is for a 75hp max. You would think a almost 18ft boat would at least be rated for a 115.
I know a lot of people like the Xpress and G3 had both a long time ago. Now you are up north and how comes you never did Polar Kraft. They make a 175 and 195 all welded. Back in the day they had a boat Bass America well I know it was junk. Now today their boats got a lot better. Just curious on what you think of them.
If the guy in the 27k Tracker pulls a 5 bass limit weighing 24 lbs out of his livewell, and the guy in the 90k Skeeter pulls out 5 bass weighing 11lbs, the guy in the Tracker has the "cool factor" for that day!
Lowe has a better layout and components, the Tracker has a better performing hull. I have a 2010 Tracker 175 with a 90 HP motor that I bought used a few years ago and it has been a great boat. However I wouldn't buy one new, they aren't built as good as they used to be and have more problems, also the BPS service and warranty center is an absolute joke. You should hear some of the stupid stuff they tell customers. My advice if you want a Tracker is to buy used to save money and mantain it and fix anything that breaks your self, they are simple boats to work on and you don't have to go through the massive headache and downtime dealing with BPS service center.
How fast will that go with the 90hp? 2010 was the only year that they allowed a 90hp on the 175. I have a 2001 175, with a 75hp carb 2 stroke. Only difference in the 90hp is the carbs on mine. This is why I am curious about your speed with the 90hp I ASSUME OPTIMAX YOU HAVE??
Also my 175 is 17’3 long instead of 17’8 like yours. Your width at the back is also a few inches wider. My hull only weighs 810, yours is about 1050# or so. I am hoping I can get some speed with the older model smaller 175, with a 90hp. Plus my motor is lighter than your Optimax by around 75 pounds
So here’s a question do you spend $28,000 on a brand new shit Boat like this or do you buy a used bass boat for $20,000 with a 150 Merc etc. where is the line? How do you decide that
Order a Lund without a engine and hang your favorite Japanese outboard on it. I would go with a riveted hull over welded. How about a welded VS riveted video?
I had a 90's tracker tournament 17' after 2 years the wood on the front deck got real weak and they would not fix it. So you think I'd but another one fuck no. My next boat will be all alunium decks and flooring
We need a budget budget budget list for the poor dudes like me. We're talking 6K on down. I have one, but it sure as sh*t wouldn't have shown up on best of list that you would do. One of the other lists I would expect.

they arent bad pices considering the market. i think unless you are looking for a complete turn key it still makes so much more sense to find a good used hull and then purchase a new motor. you can redo the hull and build it to your fishing or boating needs and as long as it floats you are good. then financing a much smaller amount for a good new merc or yami gives you the peace of mind you wont get stuck out there with a used motor
I have heard that them dam tracker will slide off the trailer
My buddy has 1 and has come off at the ramp not hooking up
Cool factor is being able to get on the water. But, I’d rather buy a used fiberglass.
And just think you can hook it to your electric truck! Holy S___T how cool is that!
HAHA
Hey Andy love what y’all do really enjoy it and laugh my ass off ! I was wondering what you know about Alweld boats? Are they like aluma crap ? Lol . Trust your options.
I like my 175txw, the thing I dont understand is why its hp rating is for a 75hp max. You would think a almost 18ft boat would at least be rated for a 115.
Transom stress. Go ahead and get the boat without a motor and slap a 115 on her yourself. Most Shops won't touch it tho
Gatortrax has a lifetime warranty on every hull they build.
I want to see a comparison of the three B's Bullet, Ballistic, and Blazer
U guys r Fkn awesome and funny ass shit🤣👍👍
Hp restriction is why a 9.9 kicker would be good. If you have a bigger motor even on the boat you get a ticket even if your not using it
Tracker said I wouldn't I wouldn't warranty my paint because I went in salt water
@@jdcontracting1805 It will run 46-47 MPH
So here’s a question do you spend $28,000 on a brand new shit Boat like this or do you buy a used bass boat for $20,000 with a 150 Merc etc. where is the line? How do you decide that
Order a Lund without a engine and hang your favorite Japanese outboard on it. I would go with a riveted hull over welded. How about a welded VS riveted video?
You should do a 20,000 30,000 and $40,000 budget boat in what would you spend that amount of money on not necessarily new.
I had a 90's tracker tournament 17' after 2 years the wood on the front deck got real weak and they would not fix it. So you think I'd but another one fuck no. My next boat will be all alunium decks and flooring
Need twice as much TM to catch anything
Over under prodigy boats?!?!?
Frickin hilarious I could watch you hate on tracker all day
🔥😆😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😅🥹 funniest ish in a while do more boats Andy hates
We need a budget budget budget list for the poor dudes like me. We're talking 6K on down. I have one, but it sure as sh*t wouldn't have shown up on best of list that you would do. One of the other lists I would expect.
I'd just get an older used boat, rather than those.
Agreed!
Definitely the way to go but with the current market that's going to take some hunting to find a deal
what are some good used older boats do you recommend?
@@calebdrake3544 look at the blast from the past episodes on this channel and Andy will tell you about brands/models he likes and why. Champion, basscat, pre tracker marine rangers ect
U need to look at avid man the avid is the way to go
I’d like to see the same video with deck boats. Pontoons and bow riders
Could have at least compared the g3 sportsman 1710 to either of these
Why not buy nice bass boats for cheap used
I found a 20 ft ranger Comanche with power poles and everything for less then the Aluminum boat
You lost me at Tracker. I like fishing, but I want to not die at the end of the day. Xpress H17 with a Yamaha smokes both of these boats.
Bend the sh!t out of that shaft 😭
Nope, Lowe is on the south side of the interstate, Tracker is a mile further east north of the interstate.
making payments on any boat is uncool
