Even if you put your desk in the window alcove, I would suggest getting a keyed lock fitted for the office/chapel window in case your littles ever come to visit Mum and Dad at their work in the Convent. It would give you a little peace of mind and would help to prevent anyone falling out of there. I'm sure your insurance carrier would like it as well.
I don't comment too often, but I am really enjoying seeing new life being breathed in to the convent, and it's all inspired me to start fixing things around the house. Love seeing the processes and learning, and hearing the excellent music you choose for each day...and it's lovely to see a little corner of France through the seasons. I do have one niggle...no gloves on when taking out, and tipping old toilets....yuck!
I love your 24 days of sink traps. Maybe on the 24th day you’ll find a treasure! By removing the plaster board you’ve brought back the complete arch of the window and the original moldings. So much better! Rick and his clean spaces is a treasure. You’re such a happy team and fun to watch. xx
Checking out the sink traps isn't silly....it's a fun 'guy thing' for Advent and we're just as excited as you guys are anticipating a huge win!!!! Everything you do at the convent with your buddies is spot on!!! Good guys!
This video the crew felt much more "connected" due to the morning greetings. Loved it. Other times each one seems more isolated, because everyone is working on their own little project most of the time
The Chapel is important to the Convent story. It is nice to see the respect for it, each other and the kindness that is shown to all. Christmas blessings to all
Dang Billy, that was a professional opening shot!! Amazing!!! And I know you are the music man most all the time. Great music for each shot. It felt like the start of a movie!! Wow! My son wonders if the chapel light shines through that large stained glass window at night? He’d love to see it. You and Ryan are really putting out some excellent shots and fun content. We love it. You are all our TH-cam family!! Merry Christmas to you all!
Billy, Ryan, Rick, and Sean my loves. Very good idea to put Billy’s desk underneath the arch looking into the chapel. Good dumpster run. I enjoyed today’s video. Love you guys. See ya tomorrow. Take care and stay safe 🍺🍺🍺🍺🕊🌹🙏🇺🇸🌈🎈❤️🌞😇👍
The lighting outside as well as in the chapel are so stunning! Great idea having a desk in the window cubby area overlooking the chapel. That view will just never grow old🙏🏻🥰🤗⛪️
I've only been watching for the past 3 days, pretty much binge watching the episodes. I would like to thank you and the crew for bringing this building back to life to tell it's stories as you go along renewing it.
Fabulous daily fix, was getting worried the advent drain opening weren’t going to happen but they did - 3 in one day yeh! Thank you so much. On a serious note - BBC ran a story of a new venture in UK that might suite the convent. Some people working from home are finding it stressful, lonely and expensive with heating. They are ‘renting desks’ in communal offices. They only need a desk, internet, toilet and tea facilities which the convent has. These renters are finding going out to their rented desks has added benefits of networking, problem sharing and better mental health. A little idea for you to mull over.
Hi Billy, Hope you are ok, you look really tired hope you are not over doing it.. Respect to you, getting everyone else's work space done before your office, sure it wont take you and the guys long to get it done.. Amazing that your local tip allows commercial vehicles in without charging you.. was always a problem for me when I was living in the UK being barred from some of the tips because I had a van. maybe paint the window frame into the chapel black so it looks a bit like a leaded window take care guys
PG Tips Billy your a perfectionist u like things neat and tidy 😂. Loving all of u working together nice to see Sean carry on the good work . 👏👏👏👏🎄🙌🎄🌲🎄🌲🎄🌲
During the next Q&A I wonder if we could have a breakdown what goes into heating the convent during the winter. Whenever I read about people owning things like big estates or castles, the costs of heating such big buildings are always listed as one of the reasons the original families had sold it because of. How much do energy costs increase in the winter with a big building like this? Is there anyway or any methods that could that could manage the energy use and costs of a big historical building like the convent?
The opening looked very "Sound of Music"-ish as the Von Trapp's escaped from Austria....A good reminder that each of us has our own context (and opinion!) which guides how we move forward with a project.
Beautiful seeing the Convent very early morning, gives a very pleasing feeling. Your office will be lovely with that view of the Chapel. Well done all 💕🇦🇺
Gentlemen, you are amazing! I'm so glad you're doing this reno and not me. I would have a hard time not gutting the place back to 18th century finishes just out of curiosity. 😉🤪 Just a suggestion - take or leave: Please don't censor/adjust your authentic selves for us! If you say "somethink" please don't feel the need to change to "something". Those of us across the pond know what you're saying and we love the quirks of the accents! We watch The Pethericks and Doing It Ourselves and Sadie for the REAL version. - Much love from Alabama, USA
Billy, been following you all for a long time love the work you have done . When you flew the drone in the chapel happened to notice the cross is crooked. Wanted to bring that to your attention. Keep on keeping on, crack on
Watching the episode today and Billy opening up the window into the chapel. It would be awesome to have a choir come in and sing or better yet open up the convent to the public for a holiday program. May be too late for Christmas but the new year is coming up too.
Just need to say that you have grown to be my absolute favorite youtuber! I discovered this channel after first discovering Doing it Ourselves when that first started up. Positive can-do attitude. Such a friendly vibe and the interactions between all of you is really great to see. And the content shows so much variety with an artistic flair on videography and music choices. Always looking forward to the next one, thanks!
I have a few of those Ryobi cordless tools with the interchangeable batteries. They seem to be really good quality and I’ve had no complaints. Price is right, too!
Finally sorted my youtube log in to make comments sometimes instead of just watching on my TV. I do always give a thumbs up when watching on telly though. I have loved watching your renovations for ages and I learn so much regarding the process of restoring old buildings. How about a holiday in Australia.... Can the team come over? Would love some advise on my plans for my over 100 year old home. hehe
Hi Billy great to see your progress. Greetings from Tokyo! Listen I have been meaning to suggest this from the first time I saw your chapel. I think that would make an excellent venue for small chamber orchestras, soloist performances etc. It may need a little work on accoustics etc also with all the office spaces you have you could convert a couple or so rooms into basic rehearsal rooms, you would be suprised how many musicians need that, and once the rooms are set it would bring in a nice passive income, chat to the village nobles to see what they think about parking etc. It could be a thing, a bit like the small Hamstead theatre in St Johns Wood, forgot its name been here for 40 years. anyway ..... just saying.
What about doing a chevron or herringbone pattern on your office floor? It will go better with that beautiful chapel window. I love your renovation and look forward to seeing your weekly videos. Crack on!
Just wondering, are you going to take all the sinks out of the rooms? Instead of taking them to the dump maybe you could sell or give them to a salvage yard. Some people like to do vintage decor. Just a thought. Keep up the good work.
I love the little window looking out onto the chapel. And the lighting in the courtyard is very nice as seem in the dark hours of morning. I don't envy you going to the dump with all the garbage and having to sort it all along the way. It's a great way to do it though. The bins are below so you don't have to try to lift anything high up. Stay warm fellas! Can't wait to see tomorrow's post!
You all do amazing work and you all get along so well. Who knew I would transition from watching family vloggers to family renovators. I’ve subbed to everyone including Ryan and Mo. Am I missing anyone else?
PS I love the sink traps I think it is hysterical..It is a good way for you all to be in the room together..which is what Christmas is about. Plus who knows maybe someone dropped a french coin in there Oh and look at Billy in jeans 👖
In 1960 I was a member of the "angel choir". The church was old and had secret doorways and passages. I truly believed that God lived behind the alter. My best friend and I explored every nook and cranny of that church before practice. My childhood church has been demolished and rebuilt with a modern building. I would love to hear singing in that chapel as I'm guessing the high ceilings will bounce the the notes off the walls. Try it sometime with your crew....doesn't have to be perfect. I know you chaps can sing. Lol
My wife and I love seeing the progress you guys are making awesome job, one bit of criticism… you should try wet sanding the spackle (Polyfilla) crack on Joe & Nancy from USA Florida
I'm not sure if anyone else has suggested this before, but have you considered offering the convent as a site for film/TV productions? At this point the building could be configured for a number of uses and it could provide an additional source of income for your projects.
Billy is fantastic. I agree with others who commented on the window in the office that looks into the chapel. Somebody could easily fall through. Please put some railings across the window to prevent this.
I’m sure you’ve already thought of it ❤ but; that window, to chapel, is dangerous, for your children. I get butterflies 🦋 in my stomach every time you open that window😂 I’m just a worrying Grandmother. 😘 love the wonderful work you are doing.
With this video it reminds me of the time I was repurposing an old cotton mill (circa 1877) to offices in the 90s. I found I preferred working over night by myself because I could not only get more done but got along with the ghosts there. They even helped me ! They were once us doing a job as I was. I've respected them for what they did and apparently they did in kind. I was the only one who wasn't afraid. I could live in the Convent no problem .
I love the spooky music playing while you were entering the gates in the dark...very dramatic. It reminded me of Stephens King's "Rose Red", one of my favorite movies. Very cool intro to today's video. I love watching your progress.
Love your videos Billy there’s always so much going on and Sean, Rick, Ryan and you of course make these videos fun to watch while getting some serious work done,Sean is a sweetheart and so clever as is Rick, Ryan is the best cameraman and very cute and then there’s you Billy! What can I say, your all these things rolled into one, love ya Billy boy, seasons greetings to you all, much love xxxxxxxxxxxxx😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Indeed, it is after all a truck...but look how much fun is had by all...boyz taking aim at the bed with loads of refuse and laughs...and then the trash bins...what fun...it doesn't take much for some...love my hard working truck as well and I love the idea of the desk in front of the chapel window, cool...now I'm cracking on as well...!!!
The sinktrap thing is fun, don't assume! I lived for about a year as a postulant in a convent. Nuns and sisters are first human, then they are brides of Christ. No one's perfect! I really like how the convent is shaping up though! Brilliant! 🍻😁❤

Please consider removing the area above the chapel window-between the side walls- all the way to the ceiling. It feels off, like it wasn’t originally like that, as in it was likely a later addition. Plus it would allow headroom should you decide to put your desk near the window.
Ryobi makes great stuff not only woodworking I have a lawn mower, weed whipper and !eat lower. Also a thing to blowup floaty rafts. They should sponsor you 😆
Hello to the Fab Four…great content and loved that you “tore” the drywall from the Chapel window. I wish we had your recycling here in the States as you do in France. If we take boxes, sinks, whatever does does not fit in our trash pick up to the “dump,” they weigh our vehicle, we take out the trash from the vehicle, they weigh out vehicle going out, and the difference is what we have to pay. I laugh every time you go to open up the traps, and you always turn the wrong way keep doing them does it matter if you find nothing, it’s all in fun.
I was going to suggest the same thing. When he looked out there into the chapel, my stomach dropped. I thought of his children.
People…please give the Children’s parents some credit. I am sure they will make sure everything is in place to protect their Children.
Billy said on the first video he discovered it that he was going to do just that thing.
Yes it needs locked immediately. Accident waiting to happen
That opening scene. The shots, ambience and music were epic.
Rick has a wonderful smile. His eyes light up when he smiles. Enjoy y'all so much. Thanks for sharing this part of your lives.
I absolutely adore Ryan. Always bringing good cheer wherever he goes. I love Rick. So hard working and gracious. I just love you all.
Indeed - you've a good crew ",The Petherick Pack "⭐
Yeah Rick is awesome. Entire group is great!
Comment dramatique!?! The intro had me thinking we had backslid to Hallowe’en. Your filming is always a cut above!! Thanks for cheering up my day.
Billy I love everything you are doing at the convent. All it needs for Christmas is a big beautiful Christmas tree in the courtyard 🎄🎄🎄
Rick hates trash and a mess. Great to have someone around who likes to get rid of trash and clutter. Bless him.
I don't comment too often, but I am really enjoying seeing new life being breathed in to the convent, and it's all inspired me to start fixing things around the house. Please keep doing the sink traps of Christmas. It’s so fun and silly!!

Seriously, one of the best produced videos on TH-cam. With music matched to video shots.
This video the crew felt much more "connected" due to the morning greetings. Loved it. Other times each one seems more isolated, because everyone is working on their own little project most of the time
Great video. I love the trap check for Christmas. Lots of fun. One will have a prize in it

LOL it was spooky and then went immediately into anticipation. Left you pondering why Billy decides to arrive so early?
It look creepy that early! I thought maybe he’s gonna check out that ghost who broke in last time.

Sorry. Hit the wrong buttons.
yeah the music? i was waiting for the Amityville Horror movie to begin 😅
I absolutely love the variety of your content on this channel Billy 😊
Nice seeing you guys hard at work and the progression of Billy's office. Hugs

I feel like I'm watching a movie with that opening!!!! Beautifully done!!!
Never any shortage of things to do at the convent! Crack on team Petherick 🎄❤️🙏
The lighting outside as well as in the chapel are so stunning! Great idea having a desk in the window cubby area overlooking the chapel. That view will just never grow old🙏🏻🥰🤗⛪️
Sharing my first cup of coffee with you today was a nice treat. Ryan knows how to do a day at the office…. Lunch & treat’s 😊
I've only been watching for the past 3 days, pretty much binge watching the episodes. I would like to thank you and the crew for bringing this building back to life to tell it's stories as you go along renewing it.
I really am amazed at what a transformation you've done at the convent in such a short time with a small team. Truly impressive.
Fabulous daily fix, was getting worried the advent drain opening weren’t going to happen but they did - 3 in one day yeh! Thank you so much.

I am enjoying the sink trap hunt for treasurers. I love watching all you guys and the silly things that you all say and do. Keep cracking on..
I'm so impressed by how organized and clean the rubbish site is. In America it's a total disaster.
PG Tips Billy your a perfectionist u like things neat and tidy 😂. Loving all of u working together nice to see Sean carry on the good work . 👏👏👏👏🎄🙌🎄🌲🎄🌲🎄🌲

All of this time, I am wondering if there are cobble stones under the blacktop driveway in the courtyard.
No, which is why they've purchased cobbles to install later on.

It's so good to hear Ryan talking normally....love it. Carry on Ryan. That banter you were using sounded so false. Love you guys so much. 💗
The way you say "sorting everythink out". I like the accent 👍
I will never get tired of the view of the chapel. You all have done lovely work and I'm excited to see how it's completed.
I love the lights in the Chapel! Merry Christmas to you all!
The outside lighting at the convent looks great. I love the chapel, so beautiful! What a great view you will have from your office Billy.
Howdy from Sacramento! Green (ryobi) is my go to choice of tools as well. Loving the progress! Cheers!
What about doing a chevron or herringbone pattern on your office floor? It will go better with that beautiful chapel window. I love your renovation and look forward to seeing your weekly videos. Crack on!
Shout out from Arizona - United States. Love the content, look forward to each new upload. Keep up the great work. Cheers!
Billy, I absolutely love your videos and the entire A-Team. I look forward to seeing your next adventures at the convent. Have a Great evening.
Love the music, Ryan!!!
Just wondering, are you going to take all the sinks out of the rooms? Instead of taking them to the dump maybe you could sell or give them to a salvage yard. Some people like to do vintage decor. Just a thought. Keep up the good work.
I would have secretly thrown a piece of candy down one of the sinks by now.
The bricks in the courtyard look so beautiful since you pressure washed them and courtyard in general is so nice.
Go, Ryan, bringing food! I love your crew, still have a crush on Rick. I think I would be scared at the convent during the hours of darkness.
Ryan is such a cheery bloke!
I love the little window looking out onto the chapel. And the lighting in the courtyard is very nice as seem in the dark hours of morning. Fabulous photography in the beginning, very professional, loved it
Very cool dramatic music intro.
The planning, organising and experience would be good to watch
Hi Billy. Really enjoying your progress. I noticed the old gates in today's vid. What are your plans for them? TY.
Another great vlog Billy and gang, love Mondays for the first vlog of the week xxx💕💕
Love your videos Billy there’s always so much going on and Sean, Rick, Ryan and you of course make these videos fun to watch while getting some serious work done,Sean is a sweetheart and so clever as is Rick, Ryan is the best cameraman and very cute and then there’s you Billy! Good job Ryan on the great camera angles ♥️
Billy, what do you think about offering the chapel as a wedding venue?
And taking that thought one step further, using the kitchen and other ground floor rooms for the reception
The sinktrap thing is fun, don't assume! I lived for about a year as a postulant in a convent. Nuns and sisters are first human, then they are brides of Christ. No one's perfect!
I really like how the convent is shaping up though! Brilliant! 🍻😁❤
I love that the tip has separate bins for different waste types. Makes you feel better about tossing things if it’s being recycled
I am loving the music you play in your videos they make them so much more professional and pleasant to watch.
Thanks Billy,an gang, enjoyed that,You have to remember Nuns wear wedding rings , they are married to god,may one lost her wedding ring washing her hands. Looking forward to seeing your office finished.
I love the unique camera angles in your videos! Good quality work, guys.
You guys are a good team, always projecting a good mood and working together well. That makes it fun to watch your channel. Thanks for sharing.
Please consider removing the area above the chapel window-between the side walls- all the way to the ceiling. It feels off, like it wasn’t originally like that, as in it was likely a later addition. Plus it would allow headroom should you decide to put your desk near the window.
P.S. If you do create additional headroom, you could then hang a beautiful pendant light or chandelier above your desk. Just a thought.
Yes, Billy, in Canada we call it a dump truck 🛻! 😁 It’s all good content. I love the idea of your desk overlooking the chapel! 🤗❤️🎶🇨🇦🇫🇷🎄🎅❄️⛄️
Lovin the progress, the office is going to turn out great
“No breakfast but i did get you lunch”
“Ok I’ll stay til lunchtime then”😂😂
I laughed at that as well.
You must get up as early as I do Billy!♥️♥️♥️♥️😘
You should be a little cheeky and drop some surprises in the sinks!🏆🤭💰👍😊 Such a great job editing the videos! Greetings from North Carolina 😊🙏
You are cracking us up with the 24 sink traps of Christmas. Merry Christmas from Utah, USA!
I’m enjoying the daily vlogs.
I have a Ryobi battery lawn mower which is self propelled and a grass catcher and a Ryobi weed whacker whiskey is fabulous. 🎄🎄🇺🇸
You can,t go yet ,I just got in the groove😢
Are all the little fur trees covered in xmas lights 🎄this is a serious morning “ have to” ADDICTION😂
I can't believe how beautiful the brickwork turned out while you guys are throwing stuff down onto the truck the brickwork came out fabulous
I never tire of when the lights come on in the chapel.
