This is one of the greatest acting moments of all time and one the realest moments of all time. You can hear about someone's death. But it doesn't hit home until the house gets cold. I remember when my mother died in a hospital accident where a nurse gave her the wrong medicine and burst a blood vessel in her head. I got the news and played it off. The next day I heard my older sister in the bathroom. I thought my mother was in the bathroom on the toilet. When I found out it was my sister. That when I realized my mother was gone. I tear up every time I see this episode. I wanted to scream but had to hold the pain inside. I didn't want to wake up the house or show the pain I had inside. I am the baby of the family and leader of my family. I didn't want people giving me the same old funeral talk and treating me like a helpless baby. I had to be my family's rock and leader. I had to hold the family together. I had to pray and cry to God, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit a lot unseen. My mother is alive inside of me. I remember the great playbook of life she and my father gave me. They gave me many whippings and a lot of love. I didn't get all the material things I wanted. I was blessed with love, respect of God, and a loving 2 parent home. R.I.P. My great parents. Mrs. Mary Ellen Jones (1950 - 2001) Mr. Ruben Jones. (1944 - 2002) If your parents are still alive. Please call them and let them know that you love them. Don't wait until a person is dead to say I love you or forgive them for a wrong they have committed against you. Give a person their roses and forgiveness while they are alive.
Hello Minister Deacon. Thank you for sharing. What isn't mentioned often, it at all, is the psychological impact of Florida's emotional bubble burst on the viewers that has, and I suspect will, last, into perpetuity. That line has been used in so many movies and TV shows, mostly by "Black" actors in productions aimed at the "Black" viewing market.
Damn TH-cam ain't sending out notifications again. Had to physically go to the channel to see the upload. Thelma still looks beautiful.. I wish they wouldve never rebooted good times. It doesn't capture the realism and magic from the original show.. but it's good to see Bernadette alive and well. Now please get James Amos on here please.
I agree. Good times was the version of what a poor black family went through during the 1970s. I wouldn't mind a remake of good times, but it needs to be a version of what a poor black family goes through in 2020, and it should be named differently.
Thank you for acknowledging the writers of Good Times. My late uncle, Thad Mumford-RIP, wrote two episodes of Good Times: The Visitor in 1974, and The Mural in 1975. Excellent interview! Is it possible see it unedited?
He apparently doesn't remember the show too well since Florida found out about James death via a telegrham and the damn damn damn scene was after the wake and not when she found out.
Good times is timeless and she is smart, articulate and beautiful soul sister, respect, good times was tapping into things back in the day and still felt til this day
She is a long time crush. I'd see her at one of the church services I'd go to on Sundays when I was a teenager. The favorite part of my week. I always said that I wanted to marry someone like her when I got older. Still looking sadly. She is still beautiful, obviously well spoken, and talented.
One of my favorite Thelma episodes is when Thelma moves out (because she felt she was losing respect of her space to JJ's antics) into house with three crazy roommates. Thelma lived with 2 guys and 1 girl, who drove her nuts, so much, that got homesick. The roommates were so funny but that was the typical roommate or apartment sharing experience.
Thelma Evans from good times still look good she is beautiful do anyone agree with me let me know please and thank you still watch good times on TV everyday love that show do anyone agree with me let me know please and thank
Great segment of the interview. I'd like to see the ENTIRE interview. I was very saddened to see this well-known Sister wearing her hair like a white woman.
Thelma aged like fine wine.
She's still beautiful.
@cookie thomas Yes
Facts!
Yes indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hells yeah!
She still fine

Good times GOAT 💯
She is so beautiful with two beautful grown daughters of her own
That’s excellent detail. I loved listening to the schedule. Remember it was filmed in front of a studio audience.
Recognize and Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Good Times in 2024.
She was beautiful in Good Times and she still is beautiful.
He apparently doesn't remember the show too well since Florida found out about James death via a telegrham and the damn damn damn scene was after the wake and not when she found out.
That scene is now a meme.
Yea thats true though
It also shows that he is not knowledgeable of the entire Good Times series. There were many good episodes and lines besides the damn damn damn line.
You're Right
Man... she still looks good!
Black don't crack 😂
DAMN, DAMN, DAMN, is one of the greatest acting lines and expressions that has been claimed exclusively by the "Black" viewing market as "their own".
Good times is timeless and she is smart, articulate and beautiful soul sister, respect, good times was tapping into things back in the day and still felt til this day

She looks incredible!

With all of the good episodes and good lines is the damn damn damn line the best that you can come up with?
Willie D stop teasing us with this interview. This is good stuff.

Beautiful smart and intelligent

Always wondered why writers didn’t allow them to move out of the ghetto..
They did in the end?
reality!!!
@@sonquatsch8585 Right! Back in 1979. When the show went off the air. But they NEVER said what happened to them afterwards.
👍💯
John 3:16

This interviewer is struggling. His questions sound like he's making them up as he's going along.
You seem to enamoured with Queen ! Thelma was extra good! Old girl still got it!
what's this guy's problem? is he on drugs?
I Love 💕 You & You … Everything About You … Everything 💡 Stop 🛑 Second Guessing… You The 1 😊❤
