    Thanks so much for your videos, and especially the links! I ordered this now and am resealing my windows this weekend after watching your video on it. I love how you say it's not about this or that but freedom, and I definitely agree. My skoolie isn't going to be a home, it's going to be the business I've wanted to start for 15 years!

    You are going to notice that with everything you want to do, there are several small steps to do first. Watch my 'Subfloor' video's. Its a slightly different way to do the subfloor. Even now, 16 months into my build, i want to do something, and i still run into a small project i have to do first. Keep pushing through it. Even though i'm not done yet, it feels like such an accomplishment. You'll get there too.

    Great job on the floor! We hadn’t seen the product you put on it to convert the rust. Looks a lot easier than grinding out the rust! We’re about to paint our floor & we’re looking for ways to clean it first. Great video! Keep them coming!

      We did a little grinding at the loose stuff but this Corroseal stuff did so much better then we thought. We did 2 coats. We still have half a gallon left. We might do the undercarriage. We put a link in the description.

    How did you clean the floors before using the corroseal? We have sticky glue from the rubber mating I would love to remove before using the corroseal. After the corroseal, what did you use to paint the floor?

    • @BackroadPurpose
      @BackroadPurpose  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fortunately ours didn't have any glue on our floor but I would say acetone will probably do a pretty good job

    • @missyasche881
      @missyasche881 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BackroadPurpose thank you. I will keep that in mind. :) In the meantime, we did purchase Corroseal cleaner. If that doesn't work well, we could try the acetone. Thanks for the idea!

    How did you clean all the dirt and stuff from the floor? What did you use?

    • @BackroadPurpose
      @BackroadPurpose  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I ended up sanding the entire floor first to get rid of most of the loose rust and then I just ran some water over it to rinse it out.

  • @georgen4077
    @georgen4077 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So you cut out completely the portions that were rusted all the way through, scrapped metal from the seat frames for patches, and then just used that converter? No metal brush to remove surface rust prior to the paint on converter?

    • @BackroadPurpose
      @BackroadPurpose  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually did use a metal wire brush form Harbor frieght to clean up all the old rust I just failed to document that part.

  • @Atlbug138
    @Atlbug138 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am going through the same process. Did you have to grind and sand the entire bus floor, before applying the Ospho? Or did you just grind away the significant rust spots and paint over everything ?

    • @BackroadPurpose
      @BackroadPurpose  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only spent time grinding the really rusted spots and then just roughed up a few spots that were a bit dirty. thanks for watching !

    We have to replace the floor panels them selves. This is gonna be funny. What was the paint you used for the rust

    • @BackroadPurpose
      @BackroadPurpose  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The roster converter was called Corroseal and we used rustoleum enamel paint after that. Only 1 gallon of each.

    • @milkweed098
      @milkweed098 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BackroadPurpose ahh okay thank you. We have a full size CO push engine international. Would a gallon of each be enough. Sorry for the questions. I just tuned into you channel

    • @BackroadPurpose
      @BackroadPurpose  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@milkweed098 oh no problem! I'm glad to help and spread the knowledge I have accumulated. But yes. A gallon is enough. Our bus is 35ft (200sqft living area) and i only used a half gallon of corroseal and a half gallon of paint.
