If Andy Jean is 100% in the fall, he will be a major addition to the WR room. I think we'll be OK there. Frankly, I don't see the O as being our biggest potential problem in '24 - the D is still a huge question mark. Overall, I'm very cautiously optimistic, regardless of what happens in the portal.
I agree with you 100%!! If we can get Jean healthy we will be just fine along with Mizell contributing.

I missed the pole David, so I believe they are better. This group looks cohesive and locked in with Napiers scheme and plan. They have a Quarterback room that looks amazing! Graham Mertz looks great, and the future looks amazing with DJ Lagway. Aiden Mizell, Wilson III, and Daniel's looks damn good! Now the big problem they had last year was Defense. This area has significantly improved with depth which we lacked for a couple years if not more. The Swamp looks good 👍 Go Gators 🐊🐊🐊
To me the problem on offense is that there’s not enough explosiveness outside of Tre. Jackson made some highlight catches, but that’s all we know about him. Dike had 1 decent season at Wisconsin when Mertz was there. Tbh, I wasn’t impressed with Dike. He didn’t show me nothing in the spring game, and if I’m game planning against him he wouldn’t strike any fear in me.
The young boys have speed, but hell they haven’t touched the field, all this unproven potential. We even have Burke & Fraziars who have barely touched the field and every year we hear about how they’re putting it all together, haven’t seen it. We need that extra playmaker who has the production and experience.

@@stevebeckerman2335 we know he’s not top flight, but compared to what we already have in the lineup and on the roster period he would have been a day 1 starter.
I’m not worried about Dike not showing out in the spring game, he has plenty of live game experience. It was more about getting reps for the young guys. Hopefully Miami will overlook him, and he can contribute big.
I feel better about this team than last year’s. Returning QB and loaded RB’s. OL and DL should be improved with depth and link. Secondary looks improved with size and speed. I think the LB room is going to be lights out! Need another weapon besides EW3 and how will Special teams do? I think this teams wins 3 more games than they did last year even with the schedule. 2 plays away from being 7-5 last year. Next year could be special.
Education may be a big thing for the USC OL transfer as he is from Africa. African families are usually very big on education. With UF being the best university in the state, it may give us a leg up.
EW3, Mizell and Jean when fully healthy, rotating in Jackson, Dike and Burke and also the 2 speedy freshman Hawkins and Abrams. I think we will be ok at wide receiver? If Mertz needs to check down he has TEs and RBs. Would like to see Mertz stretch the field at least 4-6 times a game with all the speed with these wide receivers!!
What I saw was an offense that still does not play with leverage at all three levels and wide receivers that have not learned hand placement and route running ability

I think we're good. The way we rotate players in, we can get 4,5 WRs good playing time throughout the season. Of course if they earn the snaps.
Some people like to frame Floridas academics as a selling point, but I think in this era of NIL, the higher academic requirements is just going to hold Florida back just like this..
If the offense was only equal to last years offense and the defense is improved you could easily see an improvement in the win column of 3 or 4 wins. That doesn’t require an overly optimistic mindset to believe that could happen.
Re: the wide receiver room; while it would not be a bad thing to add a proven receiver, I believe there are several of the 2nd year receivers that will step up and be solid contributors to the offense.
Mizell will have a breakout year this year.

You have said, and many others have said Napier has the support behind the scenes, Why ? He's proven nothing. His offense with him calling the plays is mediocre at best in production and talent. The defenses have been some of the worst in school history. Special teams struggle just to get the right number of players on the field. He's 6-7, 5-7 as the head coach. There has been little to no change in recruiting over what Mullen was doing, and that's why he was brought here. Where are the signs of optimism for the future ?

Sometimes all you can do is laugh, watched the video that mentioned Justus Ross Simmons visiting and then 2hrs later I see he committed to Syracuse. At this point I don’t think we’re going to grab anyone from the TP.

Gators have very little proven talent but they have a ton of potential so we have choice but to once again let it play out go gators let's hope for the best
Not going to get a wideout in portal and even if did won’t be one that will really change things for us this year. Maybe some depth. Need to coach up what we have. Got some good guys just not a lot of playing time/wxperience. Andy Jean hopefully be ready and Mizell. Going to have to step up. All there is too it. every team has these issues. Gators just a bit more with depth issues and recruiting over the years. But just can’t be an excuse anymore. Got the coaches let’s get what we have ready to go.
The guys I’ve discussed would be starters and help Tre. I hope some guys step up, but I’d like to have a proven threat. Staff is still pursuing so they feel the need too.
I have a question for all the "the offense is fine" bandwagon: how come no big time WRs wanna come play in this offense? 🤔

We missed on an average WR that went to Syracuse. He probably wouldn’t have even started… Dike, Burke, Mizell, Fraziers all more talented than this guy. No need to make a move at receiver unless there’s a plug and play starter.
He would have started. We’ve seen nothing from Burke or Fraziars to say that. I hope they are, but there’s a reason the staff is pursuing other WRs.

This staff loves Jackson so I don’t buy that he was a plug and play starter at all. The kid from Arizona State is a different story though. We need to land the big fish.

The fact that these 2 were still occupying a scholarship for so long is unacceptable, and is just another symptom of our failure of a football program
