Trump knows what he doesn't know. and he has a knack for finding the right person for the right job. The first 4 years of his presidency was a tutorial this time will be different. Once he learns you can sequester carbon AND make people healthier? Trump is all about win win deals he likes killing two birds with one stone. Joal will have Trump eating out of his hands, just wait and see.

Isn't a change in the incentive structures a good first step? It will take time to dismantle the whole bureaucracy, I feel like Make America Healthy is at least bringing attention to the problems so we can start these bigger conversations.

I was just telling my dad and brother a couple of days ago that RFK, Jr. is pushing for regenerative farming but I'm afraid that his solution is for government subsidies and programs. I just want the government to stop subsidizing everything. Government subsidies stifle innovation, create regulatory burdens and reward corporations with the best lobbyists. I want government to leave me alone and stop wasting my tax dollars.

    • @baloo1522

I listened to RFK recently, and he also is critical of big govt. I think he will be much more inline with your ideology than you think. He already sent a warning to the FDA saying anyone who is part of the corrupt system he has two messages for you: 1. Preserve your records, and 2. Pack your bags. RFK is going to do GREAT things. Deregulation will likely be part of it. The biggest part will be fighting big pharma.

  • @templeprogramming3579
    @templeprogramming3579 หลายเดือนก่อน +47

I think Salatin needs to rewatch how RFK wants to implement these things. His strategy is to change NIH funding to preventative disease research, which gives lawyers the backing to sue pesticide companies. RFK is not the main person or issue on a Trump ticket, so I don't think he has the political power to just delete subsidies. This is the best option he has for reworking the food system without real political support.

I get Joel, we both hate government and don't see government as part of the solution because they are never part of the solution but they are often the reason for the problem.

@@nedhill1242 RFK Jr is pushing for deregulation on most issues across many industries. He also drinks raw milk, hunts/fishes and buys grassfed for all of his food. He is well aware of regulations against small farms and he supports the PRIME act to legalize custom slaughter. He has interviewed Salatin previously on his podcast. It's not worth getting bogged down in libertarian ideology, RFK Jr has a track record of good results.

Actually, small farmers should’ve been filing massive class action lawsuits decades ago because what the USDA does is unconstitutional. The constitution gives a federal government the right to regulate interstate commerce. Not interstate commerce. There should be no need for a bill because almost everything the USDA like 95% of the federal government is unconstitutional.
He has a good track record? As a politician? Hasn’t had any power to do things other than lobby and educate.
I support what he’s doing. I think it’s great that he’s in Trump’s administration. I would never vote for him as president. Because he still has a lot of very problematic views. He still has some radical left-wing views.
But you’re missing the point. To do this you’re talking about creating another government agency. You’re talking about having to pass more regulations. That would be eliminating some what you’re still gonna have to pass more. And you are creating more bureaucracy. What he’s saying is 100% correct. You’re trading one agency for another agency. If you listen, he’s saying he gets it. He’s saying he likes some of it. He likes the meaning behind it, but this at the end of the day is still the federal government. There’s an old joke about nothing being more permanent than a temporary government program. Not saying he doesn’t like he’s saying he’s skeptical. You’re trading these regulations for those regulations. You’re thinking checkers while Joel is playing chess.

He has never said vaccines don’t have positives. He’s not anti-vaccine. But all medicines are approving to be contaminated these days. Vaccines in particular that used to be safe or now causing more and more problems. A lot of this has to do with being manufactured in China and other places. The quality control is no longer there. Look at our public water system. Completely contaminated. And the big jab that we still can’t really talk about here is a perfect example of an experimental vaccine that should never have been mandated and should never have been used widespread because it doesn’t stop the spread nor does it prevent you from getting sick, therefore it’s technically not a vaccine, it’s a glorified flu shot, but with far more complications and risk. It’s very good for people that are at high risk. If you’re extremely overweight if you have serious health problems if you’re over the age of 65 or 70. Then you should get it. Everyone else should simply do common sense stuff to boost their natural immune system and they will fare far better.
Joel and Bobby will make a great team because they’re both approaching different aspects of the food and drug system that are systemically harming people today. Hopefully the other five members of this advisor committee will be as good as Joel.
Sugar, high fructose corn syrup, seed oil, processed foods, especially ultra processed foods, these things are killing Americans. They are causing the obesity epidemic. They are the cause of metabolic syndrome and many other diseases that come from that have had exponential growth in our population over the last 20 to 30 years. many other countries don’t allow yes in Coca-Cola and other foods. Many other countries don’t allow many of the ingredients we allow in food in America. There is a lot that can be done that is actually common sense even to a libertarian like me to make America significantly healthier. Bobby is the perfect person for that. I would never vote for him as president, but I think he’s perfect for this job.

It is too bad in 1985 when many farmers were going broke without farm programs that we did not let it play itself out. In the midst of that farmers were innovating away from corn, cotton and soybeans, and becoming creative. We were almost there and all of a sudden we had this huge new farm program again. Now built into the price of farm land are farm subsidies including ethanol.

Just educate, not regulate. Our biggest enemy is our fellow farmer, who is “conventional” in practice. It’s not big ag sending the regulators after us. My USDA inspector has seen every initial report that initiated an investigation over a 3 year period. It was always another small producer, who uses conventional farming practices, who lived within 5 miles of the farm being reported.
Part of how raw milk is surviving, is there aren’t a lot of dairies left. Thus, no one to care.

You are partially right. But it’s also the government. It is also regulations. It is also big Ag. Because if you don’t have big Ag you don’t have industrialized food or industrialized farming or too big to fail, etc. and you don’t have small farms and homesteaders being put out of business without big government. Without the USDA. It was the government that created the dustbowl.

I live in South Carolina and it’s the exact opposite. If you’re a conservative if you’re a libertarian and you believe in the constitution, then you understand that over 90 if not over 95% of what the federal government does is unconstitutional. It’s why the founding fathers would actually love most of project 2025. There is some dumb shit in it for sure. But they want to get rid of most of the federal government, which is on constitutional and the founding fathers would love it. The part that I think is stupid is they want to keep the department of Homeland security and put all this stuff underneath DHS. Hell no. That and the department of education and department of interior and the EPA and almost all of these Parts of the federal government if not, all of them should be erased.
Constitution did three things. Outlined destruction of the federal government. Severely restrict and limit the power of the federal government to foreign policy, which is completely controlled by the president by the way, which is why Trump is right about generals being loyal. The president unilaterally controls foreign policy in America. The president is the commander in chief. If a general doesn’t do what the president says, they can be arrested and thrown in jail for insubordination. They absolutely are supposed to be loyal. It’s called a chain of command. He is the commander in chief. Do what he says or Get Court, Marshall. It’s really that simple. Truman fired two of the most popular and greatest generals in American history. Patton and MacArthur.
So, outlined the structure of the federal government, interstate commerce, foreign policy. Everything else is to be done by the states. Federal income taxes the federal reserve the FDA all of that USDA. It’s all unconstitutional.
I’m so far to the right I’m basically an anarchist. Barr extremism is anarchy. Which is grossly misunderstood. Not fascism. Not authoritarianism. People that have authoritarian leanings on the right are actually not conservatives as a libertarians. They’re fundamentalist and when you start talking to them, you realize their motivated by some weird religious thing and not the constitution and not conservative or libertarian values. Fascism is absolutely a left-wing ideology. The Nazis were socialist. There are plenty of very well respected academics on TH-cam explaining in detail exactly why and how fascism is left-wing because it is collectivist it is authoritarian and unlike other left-wing ideologies you don’t need to own the means of production if you can control it is what is today. China moved away from communism and really has more of a fascist economy and government today. Look at 1930s Germany. An extreme version of capitalism the federal government and regulations created all these multinational companies. Created too big to fail. Created all of the monopolies and oligarchs we have today. We have an extreme form of Cron capitalism that is by definition fascist. We have had free market in prize, free market capitalism or anything close to real democracy since the early 1900s.
So I don’t know what people you’re talking to, but they don’t understand civics and they damn sure I don’t understand the constitution or what the founding fathers created and intended. Tell him to actually read the constitution and read the federalist papers. Maybe start my reading, an elementary civics book. The conservatives and libertarians I know here in South Carolina are well informed, and they can’t stand the government. Actually, there is a suburb of Atlanta where 100% of everything is privatized. There have been booked written about it. It is literally an anarchist city. It proves it can be done even at the local level. they don’t have elected officials other than a few elected city council people, but they don’t call that because they don’t meet very often and people vote on most everything.

We the people with Reliance on Divine Providence is the answer. Let me explain, we have 350 million people in our country there needs to be a systems in place to help out all the people. I call it the 80/20 rule, 20% of people are independent enough take care of ourselves/ neighbors on our homesteads. 80% have to support everything else and live in towns and cities. I believe the Amish have a very good system. It starts off with the family, then, community and then to the state. But if we the people do not hold the system accountable and the people we asked to run that system, then this is the true problem. From the beginning God set up a system, it was We the People that abused or misused that system. I understand we will not change the system overnight, but it must start somewhere & someone has to be in charge we can slowly, but surely re-implement proper systems to make it work and then hold those accountable that we elect. Be self-sufficient, help your neighbor and then hold the system, no matter what level local, state, federal an churches accountable. The two greatest Commandments> love God with all your heart soul and mind and your neighbor likewise

I'm not sure what state you live. Here in Wisconsin, you can sell your fruits and vegetables to grocery stores, restaurants, food coops, local food distributors to school nutrition programs, farmers markets, CSAs, sell right at your farm. You can also sell meats as long as they are processed and state inspected at the meat locker. Apple cider does have to be pasteurized to sell to the public. Local Apple growers take it to a local processor who has large scale pasteurization and bottle. That fee is relatively low and is passed on to the consumers. Unpasteurized cider can carry health risks: pathogenic E. coli, Salmonella, or parasites like cryptosporidium. No one wants to become ill. Also, Google National Farmers Union to find a local chapter near you. There are many like minded people who are growers and non growers.

Wow Joel...u definitely lost me on eliminating the public school. We down to earth people growing our own food and just generally " know better" type people R RARE! Most people DEPEND on the public school as bad as some aspects may b ya can't throw the baby out with the bathwater! We just need to do better and everything I do needs improvement so do government systems.

lol wow you are grossly ignorant and misinformed. Joel is 100 percent correct about public education. Good lord do a little research. Kids today are being indoctrinated by the most extreme far left insanity starting in kindergarten. Carter created the DOE in 78 and nationalized the teachers unions and they destroyed education in less than 30 years. Government systems can't be fixed, the are the problem. Have you ever read a civics book, the constitution, or the federalist papers? Clearly not. Even Reagan wanted to kill the DOE.

I am sorry anyone that thinks public schools can be fixed with school boards being in charged of them is part of the problem. The children need parents that take charge of the childrens learning

You’re not a critical thinker. You’re thinking in simplistic binary terms. Homeschooling versus public education. Hell, no! There are infinite choices in between. Your property taxes paid for the public education system. Eliminate public education. Eliminate property taxes. You don’t need vouchers if you eliminate Property taxes. It would be cheaper to send your kids to a private charter school. Cheaper yet and probably the best results places like faith-based Catholic schools. Or better yet get together with people in your subdivision or your local community and create a community based school, sort of like the old one room, school house and higher, excellent teacher that supports your values and real education and critical thank you. And get the parents involved.
