    • @lucecita19
      @lucecita19 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fatima Sy Really? What makes you think that? Because she said,she doesn’t want to lose him? I always thought the pregnancy story would be up to season 6 ,7 or 8. But I know Fitz its going to explote, when he finds out the truth and she deserves that. She even deserved Jake´s lecture yesterday. The only thing that maked me mad was that he as disgusting as he is, he tried to kiss Olivia, and im glad she wiped his disgusting saliva off her face, Last episode she started to think by herself, I have to congratulate Olivia she finally woke up. But it still about to go down on her, because she had her chance to tell the truth and she didn’t. They are a long list of people waiting anxiously to go running and tell Fitz what happened such as Cy, Mellie,Jake,Rowan,and including me .

    No Adrienne and Tamera are right. If someone is PAYING you to listen to their problems, there's a chance they don't actually care and they're just doing it for the money. They might just tell you what you think you want to hear. It might not be genuine. It might just be because they're getting paid

    • @TalentedKidsTVcom
      @TalentedKidsTVcom 9 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      +Mamie Rogers The service is not paying them to care. The service is paying them to give you the "feeling" of a mom. Nothing wrong with being paid for helping people. Being paid does not exempt one from caring about their work. If that's the case, doctors and nurses should not be paid. Lawyers should automatically care about their clients and volunteer their time, along with cops and firefighters. Why pick only certain people to no compensate for their time?

    • @AlphabetSoup123
      @AlphabetSoup123 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mamie Rogers Hey, a fool and their money will soon part. If you pay me for common sense advice I'd totally go ahead and give you the advice, but if you want me to help you manage your life and become your personal "Iyanla," that's going to cost because that requires time and effort. I really feel like this service was a front for some type of kinkier business because there's no way like Jeannie and you said that someone can put a price on organic motherly advice. The average caring mom will give you an answer from the kindness of their heart, but once you start becoming extra needy more than likely they are going to get tired and you (if you're sane) are going to offer them a small monetary token because you feel bad. Maybe this business just expedites that process.

    I feel like Tamar had the best argument. People pay psychiatrists to help them solve their problems, what's wrong with paying a motherly figure to make you feel better. Even if she pretends to care, if it doesn't show and only makes you happy, I don't see the problem.

      +D wan I totally agree with what you are saying, I guess this service would be best suit people that have lost their mothers and are feeling a bit down on certain holidays i.e Christmas, Mothers day etc. I think the best way to go about it though would be to keep using the same mom and build a friendship with that person so there are more feelings felt behind the friendship rather than "just being paid to be there". The best emotion that a person can witness is the feeling of unconditional love and the best people that give that are mothers whether they are yours or someone else's. The maternal instinct never leaves a mother when their kids grow up so this also could be good for women that have adult children that have all flown the nest.

    • @dwanfierce
      @dwanfierce 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** i dont know about that... i'm motherly whether i'm at work or in the community and I know plenty of women who are motherly as well. i've never had children and my nickname in middle school was Momma Neya! motherly personalities are present no matter the circumstance. but i'm not arguing. i just disagree.

She came up, gave me a hug and said "I'll be your mom today". And she would tell me how beautiful I looked, the whole appointment. That woman was a beautiful woman, and though I don't know who she is, but I appreciated her in that moment.

    Regardless of anything there are people out there who don't have a support system or circle of friends or a big family they can relay info to and receive solid info back. They are really in literal terms "alone". So if $40 dollars an hour is what someone has to pay to feel cared for, to feel loved by someone else. Best to believe they will pay that. They want to feel like they count, like they matter.

    We live in such a culture that some people, even though they have their 'real' mom (or dad), they still lack that feeling of closeness with a parental figure. For someone like that, I can honestly see this sort of thing working. It's why, like Adrienne mentioned, Big Brothers / Big Sisters programs have been around for years! I don't see the hate. And it's not JUST advice, I don't get why they got so stuck on just advice.
    Frig, look at social media and specifically the comments left on TH-camr's videos!! People are calling 25 year olds "mom" and "dad" because they lack that feeling of a loved one. Our culture is THIRSTY for familial love. Who cares if there's a price tag on it; it benefits everyone involved, so why not embrace it? People ate up Uber and this is practically the same thing, just without the rides. Come on now.

    Why not go volunteer your mothering services to children who don't have birth parents? Think of that situation around Mother's Day or during those times in school where the kids bring their moms in for assembles and such. It must be so hard to be the only kid in your class who doesn't have someone there for you. Even if it's only for a day, it would do well to brighten up that child's life.

    Well... I'm a mentor for college Freshmen (I'm a sophomore in college) and 3rd graders. I get paid for mentoring the college students, but volunteer to be a "Big Buddy" to my 3rd "Little Buddy" and I actually DO care! I treat the college students with respect and help them with registering for classes and invite them to campus events and care about them getting far in college and doing well even if I'm getting paid for it. So I disagree with Adrienne and Tamera. Just because the Rent-A-Mom or whatever it's called gets paid doesn't mean you don't care or aren't being genuine.

    When they first introduced the topic I thought it was an amazing idea. My mind first went to the people who didn't have a good mom, or who never had a mom at all. Theres a void there. If you could have a "rent-a-mom" come over for a couple hours that would be such a beautiful thing. What if someone has never experienced their mom combing their hair while they sit on a couch cushion between their legs, or making them porridge while singing to them...or all those little motherly memories that the rest of us have and take for granted.

    As much as I like this show these women are forgetting that not everyone has a mother figure who is present in their life or who they can depend on. What about people who's mums have died? What about people who have turbulent or bad relationships with their mums? What about people whose mothers are mentally ill and they don't know what day of the week it is let alone who their own children are? Or what if they've even been thrown out of the family home by the mother? Not all women have the motherly instinct. My mum certainly doesn't. She's so narrow minded and religious I don't even bother trying to ask my mum for advice because all I'm going to get is a lecture about how I'm going to hell. No thanks!

    and that program is actually phenomenal. i know you may think it would be awkward but it really isnt. people dedicate their time for that!
    my "sister" and me were 2 opposite people. growing up in NY i was bullied a lot for liking kpop, being weird, crying a lot. and she made me feel very welcome. she is a filipino who graduated with her masters & works for bank of america & i grew up in the projects. we were 2 different lifestyles & both of us together was amazing. i did take her for granted at one point because i was so young but now i regret it lmao. we're still in touch and we're planning to meet soon.
    i met her when i was only like 9? in the 4th grade & im now in the 10th and i wish everyday i could be having a new adventure with her haha

    My first thoughts about this service, was that would be great thing for people who have sadly lost their mother, grandmother etc.
    No they can't be replaced but to have someone to turn too when they need-that can make all the difference.
    Someone not their own age, older and who will listen to them and be a soundboard, give advice or just be motherly company when they need it the most.
    It's extended charity. With the pure intention it can be amazing.
    This also could include a friendship service and help the silent growing issue of loneliness.
    A lot of older people get really lonely and would love to 'rent' a friend.
    Some honest friendly company, with no hidden agenda.
    That's what an inclusive society gives you.
    We seem to have lost that these days, the village no longer raises the child, its only left the parents-and that's not always easy. Working all hours, paying increasing rent and bills etc. in a world which sometimes leaves you speechless.
    We need more good deeds, so this idea is a great start!

    I was thinking if I was rich, I would buy all the orphan kids in my neighborhood a mommy for an hour but that would be really sad cause an hr wouldn't be enough and you should never have to buy someone's love. Things like that are priceless.

    I think this is a great idea! I'm not a mom but have had people offer to pay me to listen to them and suggest I become a psychologist or life coach because of my advice. They say the same about my Mom. I think if you're a genuine person and you have a gift of sharing wisdom/advice, it's no different than any "skill" or gift. I think the term "rent a Mom" is what's throwing people off...but it's catchy. I like it and I'm here for it. Plus, like Tamar said, if certain knew they had to pay for your undivided attention, they would stop repeatedly blowing up your phone.😊

    The most disturbing thing about their responses is that they didn't discuss the uglier side of this there's a lot of abandonment out there. This is genius actually. Just like you pay for a service you could pay a mother figure some never had that its priceless but this way it's affordable for what they're asking. They're talking abt how you can't put a price on a mom its affordable tho $40? You nvr know what someone is going through financially you might be paying her bills they're getting paid to focus on you. You ask just anybody they'll tell you whatever but you're paying and saying I value your time. Thank you for this service my mental state isn't okay or I'm pregnant I need guidance or I'm not ready to let go of my mom she just passed you need that figure if you don't have one or never had a mother you could get some sort of comfort from this there are so many homeless children in America there are so many trying to hide the fact that they never grew up with a parent or two parent households you know ? Some people don't have resources some are in bad environments. These are wack responses to such a dope idea. Compared to some of the other topics that are relevant enough for this show. I love it. I'm just disappointed in the commentary. Love them to. It's just exhausting living in the hood n not having these things addressed as often that's all. Have a good day tho anyone who took out time to read..

    I know I'm late on this, but I think it's ok to rent a mom because some people don't have a mom or a mother figure that can advise them, and in this situation I think it should be ok for them to be able to rent someone that has raised an incredible child, this will help inspire that individual. For example my mom passed away when I was twelve I didn't know much about period, pad and most lady stuff I could have used this service to rent tamera's mom or Tamar's mom. Just saying

    Loni is always saying it like it is. Plus i think this service is more like for women that probably don't have positive female figures in their lives. i used to volunteer with teenage foster girl that were not getting adopted and were going to age out of the program. The workers really couldn't really say much to them so it was up to the volunteers to give them love and advice, but once they were out and adults they are completely alone and in a world that is brutal.

    How much can you POSSIBLY do in an hour that's worth more than $40? Nothing. The reason mom's are so valuable is because they RAISE you. Just because you have kids doesn't make you more valuable as a person. $40 an hour is crazy enough. Any more than that is ridiculous. And if you pat extra for each thing they can do, what is the $40 an hour for??

    I'm with Tamar and Jeannie. IO would tell my friends you want my mom advice you best give her something in return. I would have no problem with her doing. Other thing I thought was maybe a person does not have a mother and would feel uncomfortable going to a friends mom with their problems. SO they call a stranger for that motherly advice.

    All of the hosts are speaking from the perspective of someone who has a great mom available but there are so many people whose mothers aren't in their lives for various reasons, (death, bad parenting, arguments, illness etc.) and sometimes they may have moments when they need motherly advice. Then there are mothers out who would love to be there for someone (maybe their kids have passed or moved out) and they wouldn't mind helping those people who need the service. Providing this service would be very time consuming overall for the mother giving advice, what's wrong with getting compensated for your time?

  • @janeabrown7884
