Style is something that makes you unique. And you should keep to your set of sounds so you can get highest quality sounds. Can't escape repetition if you want to sound like soundboard. Variety is important, but not as important as uniqueness.
I beg to differ. Imo variety can be achieved with same sounds like codfish, dlow
Variety is more important, sometimes when u got some unique, it gonna be overuses and it will be boring, like Poh Snare. Variety and Complex make you more better for me
I’ll have to disagree, even in vocodahs case his uniqueness became repetitive and lost its touch so the beatbox game forced him to bring in variety. Once he brought variety to his uniqueness then he started dominating the online beatbox game. The only thing you stick to over and over and over again is the basics bc you can never practice those too much lol besides that you gotta find ways to bring variety

But I’m saying style alone can only make a decent beatboxer, someone with variety & no style can still make it like ping pong po for example. Style isn’t important until you’ve developed your basics & a variety of sounds to create a unique style. Variety comes first and foremost

this is why its interesting seeing your vids. seeing beatbox in a different way of someone who, like me being a fan watches to technicallity. you prefer something based on musicallity, but in beatbox community in terms of battles is more about techniques, new routines, composition of course and deeper things that im now aware of but judges are. but keep it up bro

It's not style btw, it's called counter beat in beatbox. Style is just from the beatboxer which like d-low with his flow beat, b-art with his dirty beat. It's all in my opinion btw :D

Edit : I WAS convinced this is going to be B-Art's first instance of beating D-Low in a major competition. (I have since been proven wrong. Curses.)
The cleanness of D-Low's sound production is always going to be better than B-Art's in some ways because B-Art tends towards sounds which by their very nature are more dirty and grungy even when they are utterly perfect. But I think he won this one.
The second part of your comment is something I 100% agree with and many reactors get this wrong. They think B-Art is unclean or his lyrics aren't understandable however, that is the nature of his style and thus, exactly what he's aiming for.
