Hi, thank you for the video. Is there a way to link the Level 2 with the Time & Sales window? Meaning, if I change the Level 2 (Bid / Ask) to a different, can it automatically change the Time & Sales to the same stock also? I used the "Group Windows (Source / Destination)" colours, but it only links when I change the main candlestick chart window. Can I make it link regardless whether I change the stock on the Level 2, Time & Sales, or Candlestick chart?
Hi! When something is grouped, you should be able to change it from anywhere. If you change it on T&S it should change any L2 or chart associated with it and vice versa for L2, charts, etc. if you change from there. If you are using the blue or green grouping colors, double check it because these colors are close and tend to get mixed up for many people.
@@MeganMarlowBBT Thank you for responding, Megan. I linked the colours. But when I change the Time & Sales, it doesn't change the Bid / Ask window, and vice versa. They both only change when I change the stock on the chart.
@@kuhen25 Interesting. Seems like something may be glitching on this. You can either reach out to IBKR directly or you can join one of my sessions in the BBT chatroom and we can try to work through it live together.
@@BearBullTraders Yes. Plus to have all market together(ARCA+Nasq…+) to see where big orders sitting. In DAS you can put in color big orders and when you trade it easy to see where the price potentially can go. But it should be all markets together. Thank you!
Aside from Market Depth L2 (IBKR's DOM), they also have Book Trader which is similar to the Active Trader on TOS if that is the type of ladder/visual you are looking for. New Window > Book Trader
Click on the grayed out market data buttons on your Market Depth Trader that you would like to add (ARCA, IEX, etc.). The platform will provide a pop-up and re-direct you to a page via their website to add them to your account. You can also Log into IB > Click the head and shoulders icon next to your name at the top > Settings > Market Data Subscriptions - This will show you what subscriptions you currently have. Cheers!
Great video - new to trading and just setting up my workstation platform up. I know this may be a silly question, but when you clicked the Bid in the Quote panel, it created a Sell order, but then you stated when you click on a Bid price in the Level II table, is creates a Buy order. Is this done to confuse us newbies :-)
Becuase the bid is where offers from traders/market makers are willing to buy from you, and the ask is where traders/market makers are willing to sell to you.
'Next to this we have the size, which is rounded to the nearest number'... representing what? So the numbers 100, 1200... etc what does that mean? 100 shares, 1200 shares? This was not explained
@@MeganMarlowBBTthanks for reply- so it's not that number multiplied by 100 like on other platforms I.e 1200 x 100 would be 120000 shares? Like TOS, lightspeed etc
@@hudson701 Correct. For example, DAS will show 100 shares by using the number 1 (in lot size rather than share size). In TWS this will be shown as 100 (share size) rather than in shorthand as 1 (lot size).
Very good video. I have on tip, if I may. I learned this while I had an IT job. And believe me I had colleagues that didn't do this. And the F'd up big time. If you enter a new window and you want to 'just close' the window. Never-ever press the 'oke button'. Always press the 'cancel button'. It is a security measure that you don't accidentally change something you didn't want to change. Lets say you and your itchy trigger finger per accident clicked something which would change the layout. You weren't aware that you clicked anything, but you did. Accidents do happen like that. You cancel out of the window, nothing happens. You 'oke' out of the window and that setting will be present. Just be safe when going around with money.
With the BUY button you added how do you know how many shares you are buying?
You need to type how many shares you want to buy/sell
How when the order is transmitted instantaneously?

Hello. Can you do the same settings in IB like in DAS pro for level 2? Thanks
Do you mean same orders and colors?

Thank you. I´m no sure what happened, but the bid is where the buyers are.
Thought as much :-)
I don't see Level II data. Do I need to pay to have access to Market Depth (Level II)?
Yes
Great video. Could you make a similar video on DAS? The earlier DAS videos on BBT are a few years old, I am sure there have been updates on it.
That's a great suggestion, thank you!
6:06 why clicking bid make a SELL and ask make a BUY ? anyone
Becuase the bid is where offers from traders/market makers are willing to buy from you, and the ask is where traders/market makers are willing to sell to you.
