It's also better to use to original style as they can just reuse the cutscenes from the movie, and make new ones as well, the only issue I might see are the ones with Mickey a the original VA is dead but I see a workaround for either remake those cutscenes with Bert Iwan, uncompress the original battle quotes, or just use Bert Iwan for the new cutscenes as they have done that with Naminé when they dubbed the khii final mix cutscenes.
As of 2024, the first eleven books, through Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle, are in the public domain worldwide. The later works are still under copyright in the United States.
@devonm042690 not exactly sure. The point is that disney Tarzan still covered due to likeness and how they altered the story. Same reason we don't have regular Mickey Mouse. We only have old-school black and white Mickey. Don't want to spread misinformation.
What's funny to me is that if they did end up making a kh 1 remake, we know that Nomura would absolutely make it tie into the story in some way. There's almost no reason to and he wouldn't have to but he would.
They could make it another worldline, the ending of the game could be completely different, the Master of Masters could show up in the cave where Sora talking to ansem - it could be the MoM instead of Ansem
"I recommended KH1 to start the series, but because of how it aged, it left a poor impression." "So let's make KH1R a meta commentary on the series" Mate, this doesn't solve the issue at all.
@@aidensnow5017 I mean it’s hecking weird that PS3 games are getting remade too (and they’re probably doing this because new games take too long to make now)
Games half as good that came out a full console generation after KH1 & 2 are getting remakes... Other legendary PS2 era games like Silent Hill 2 and the Resident Evil games are getting remakes, Shadow of the Collasas got a remake... "It doesn't need it, it doesn't need it!" Shush up as if 99% of you crying out this sentiment wouldn't be the first ones pre ordering when it gets announced
@@aidensnow5017 no game can replace kh1 if it's not a remaster, you can update textures models, like in Zelda oot for 3ds or metroid prime for the switch, but they'll change things if they make a remake, we don't want that
If they did remakes instead of all of these ports... then It'd be a little more justifiable to buy kingdom hearts again. At this point, Kingdom Hearts is up there with Skyrim with it's re-releases
I mean especially with all the handheld games. Even Nintendo is beefing up their old roster of handheld games to actually be fun to play on the docked switch
I think there's a huge difference between the Kingdom Hearts remasters, and Skyrim re-releases. Skyrim was released on Steam so many times. These could have been DLC to the game, and they could've re-released it for the console players who want to play on the new systems. While Kingdom Hearts has been remastered and put on new hardware every time. How many people would be getting into Kingdom Hearts today if the only way to play it would be to buy a PS2, and find a used copy on eBay or something? I think the Kingdom Hearts remasters do serve a very important purpose here, and nobody had to buy any of them if they already had the original game, or the previous generation of remasters. At least, that's my opinion.
@@chloe-sunshine7 i completely agree. These were about access while Skyrim re-releases were just about squeezing out more money (not that KH wasn’t expected to make money too…that’s kinda the point of the whole industry)
Absolutely not for 2 reasons. They would just port the physics from KH3 to 1 when the whole narrative point of Sora is how his air game gets higher each game and Nomura would just re contextualize the story
we *NEED* a remake of 358/2 Days! Main character being Roxas ✅ Playing as all Organization 13 members ✅ Arguably the best self-contained story in the franchise ✅ Multiplier co-op on missions ✅ The limits for each character you play as ✅ Duel-wield Roxas ✅
Being a self contained story is exactly why they felt it was fine to only include the cutscenes in the remasters. Days really doesn't matter much to the current story arc that UX built up and KH4 is continuing from. I rather have a UX remake. That story is just too important to leave on mobile phones.
boring repetitive missions ✅ difficult controls because it was on the DS ✅ would take a lot of effort to remake it and would take time out of kh4 development ✅
I think you’re missing the forest for the trees. The only parts of KH1 that might’ve aged poorly is probably just navigation since the later games were more straightforward with its level design. If difficulty is a barrier then new players can just play the game on easy and if figuring out where to go is getting annoying then consider consulting a walkthrough if they get lost. I agree that there might be some quirks that old PS2-era games have that wouldn’t get a pass today but acting as if it makes the first KH game impenetrable to a new player might be a bit of an exaggeration.
Even though the physics are completely shit lol. There are SO many jumps that you should be able to make but you just happen to slip back down and like he said, lose minutes of progress. The amount of times the geometry literally just said, "nah, you're falling now" when I was replaying the game is ridiculous. At least in KH2 you have methods of getting back up quickly. But yeah, I agree, KH1 doesn't need a remake, but it didn't age as well as people claim. Nostalgia tinted glasses and all that.
Bruh we don’t need a kingdom hearts remake period idk why some people want a kh1 remake , we have all these ports that include the kh games just play kh1 through those , ff7 was a different matter ff7 came out on the ps1 and the graphics looked blockie as for most ps1 games were but kh 1 and 2 looked good for PS2 titles and still do chain of memories got remade for ps2 yea but that’s most likely because they wanted to add dialogue not just text blocks and make it 3d , but as I say we don’t need a kh1 remake or kh2 leave those games alone
@@DragTidus The point of a remake is to make it better than before. Saying "don't bother" to a crucial KH game ruins the story elements that could be elaborated on and improved. I get you want KH4, but you're showing a very regressive attitude with that comment.
Bro says "kh1 is rudimentary" while showing the stupid pirate boat summon from 3.... if that's what being not rudimentary gets you, then by all means, please keep the games rudimentary.
My nostalgia says the clunky movement is part of the experience. But after going through monstro again i changed my mind, especially once i started with kh 2
KH1 really does not need it, at least not graphically. The only things that need improvement is the movement and camera, but even that is just part of the era. People can learn to deal with it. Is it frustrating? Yes. But that is also a good life lesson. Not everything is easy or will cater to what you want. Some times you just have to put more effort in.
I don't agree at all. Alot of the problems in the series are addressed by playing other games in the series. You think the story has plot holes ? The other games at least make attempts to fill stuff in. You think the gamefeel is bad ? Just play kingdom hearts 3 You want to experience the specific disney worlds for yourself? Get the remake bundle You think soras voice changed too much between kingdom hearts 1 and 2 ? Tough luck. That's such a weird nitpick Your not solving any problems and everything can be addressed by an antgology collection on new gen consoles ( kingdom hearts 2.5 and 2.8 bundled together )
Naaaaahhhhhhhhh let's just keep moving forward and stick to new titles. I respect your point of view, but It's probably best to keep KH1 and the rest as they are, with an exception of the Union Cross title.
Absolutely not. KH1 is an amazing game. Slow and steady, perfectly so. If anything: 358/2, Re:Coded, BBS, and DDD need remakes with entire overhauls to their respective systems to make them either akin to KH2/KH3 or redo the deck system and enemy system to allow for hitstun to enemies or to make everything in line with Thunder Surge in terms of power.
I had this exact theory... except movies and not games. I think, instead of Sora existing in a video game in the "real world," the Disney movies appear as movies. That is, Yozora has seen Sleeping Beauty, Frozen, Moana, etc. -- but perhaps the versions of them with Sora interfering! And this will also be how Sora returns to Disney worlds, by using the keyblade on a TV or something while the movie plays lol
idk if i can see square remaking a remix game. it'd mean releasing it seperate from all the bundles and i think theyd see it as a bad plan to have 2 versions lying around. ff7 feels different because its been fundamentally changed so much. kh1 doesnt have as much leg room without changin story beats or lore
In Re:CoM’s defense, the translation took longer to happen and released after 2 for everywhere else outside of Japan. But I agree. Having Haley Joel Osment redo the vocals for the first would help a ton for both remaking the first and making the current form of the series feel more complete and coherent.
No it's not. It still looks good, and a remake would likely remove a lot of the charm. They should put their resources elsewhere. Also don't want plot ghosts invading Kingdom Hearts also.
Nah, I'll stop you right there, we don't need remakes, the games already get rereleased every couple of years, and they both look and play great. Not to mention the amount of side games that reuse assets and retread the story. Better to just focus on making KH4 and other new games (maybe even more DLC for KH3 if we're so desperate for new content).
Why does everything have to be a remake with you people? All you want to do is be fed the same games over and over and over again by devs who want to exploit your nostalgia!
These are good ideas but idk im so nostalgic about KH1. Even though its kinda clunkly and its easy to get lost in some of the worlds, I can't say that I find myself hating any aspect of it (except the gummiship missions those are terrible ngl). I do agree the camera is hard to work with sometimes and the platforming is difficult to use but I find those quirks charming. KH1 is by far one of my favorite games to play out of the whole series. I always have so much fun playing through it. I don't really think it needs to be changed. I like it the way it is flaws and all.
The biggest reason I think a modern remake wouldn't work is the insane attention-to-detail the current KH1 has in it, with world design interactions and little secrets. A remake may improve the overall gameplay and quality-of-life features, but may risk losing the charm of the hidden details everyone continues to praise KH1 for, and hearken back to when realizing no follow-up game in the series has truly come close to it since (0.2 & 3 being the only ones that flirt with the concept). There's SO many techniques I feel wouldn't be given the attention of remaking 1-to-1 and instead be overlooked for streamlining. As much as I love 0.2 and KH3's push to start including this type of design again, it's still lacking, and KH3's version (since it's the full-length game) of "attention-to-detail" really wouldn't do classic KH1 justice if just tranlated to a modern KH1 remake. To this day, we're STILL discovering new things in KH1 that weren't widely known back then. A lot of that comes from not just the game development style of PS2 days, but also the lightning-in-a-bottle team and the initial setting back then of making a risky new IP with no expectations, no stress on appeasing to/streamlining for certain audiences, and all passion in game-making. This one sort of needs to be preserved, recognized, and lowkey studied as a testament to genuinely clever and great game design that has stood the test of time and clunkiness. Other current IP games, developers, players, and even future games in the KH series can still learn so much from how KH1 currently is. I hope KH4 and forward can really bring those elements back in full force. Then maybe, once the current team has gotten that understanding, they can really discuss making a worthwhile remake. Or at the very least, know how to direct the separate team that would have to take the mantle, while the main team keeps making new games at the same time.
No it’s not…chain of memories and the other things only needed a “remaster” or “remake” if you wanna call it cuz people only really played the MAIN VERSION of the franchise the others were not that important to people so they brought them to the main so people can enjoy the stories they never knew. KH1 doesn’t need nothing done to it but what they been doing.
I can see 2 reasons as to why they should remake kh1 Kh1 was the only game to include a heavy focus on platforming other than the rpg systems, beside kh2's cavern of remembrance, so remaking it could give them ideas to better implement platforming in future entries, it also gave a good focus on exploration and going back to older areas with new abilities, such as the trinities, getting that system back or something of the sort would give world exploration some much needed deapth, like unlocking an ability in a future world that could be used in one of the first worlds to unlock a new area with a unique accessory or miniboss, also kh1 was the only kingdom hearts game, as far as I remember that gave you keyblades outside of world completion, major story events or defeating some kind of boss, like the pinochio keyblade that you only get if you talk to gepetto in traverse town, getting keyblades as a reward for exploration or sidequests would be pretty good Number 2 is that Kh1 is a bit clunky sometimes, it holds up very well even in 2024, but some gameplay systems could be ironed out to give a more fluid experience, for example the gummy ship missions by making it mostly optional like kh3 or making it a genuinely interesting mini game like kh2
really is. i went through the same thing with my friend, except i made him play birth by sleep first which he had no issue with. it's just kingdom hearts 1 isn't as beginner friendly as the other entries where they guide you around each world, it makes you actually figure shit out. people arent used to it.
@@superskeetospro as someone who loves the KH series as a whole, 1 def needs a remake. Like better graphics and physics alone is good enough. With some quality of life updates but that would make the game so much better. They could add minor touches to make it connect better with the story.
I don’t know. :p Realistically if it were to happen, I’ll be all over it so it won’t even matter. As much as I kinda lost hope to see an official remake for 358/2 Days, I will always support an idea for that game to be remade above all else. Lol But I can also understand the possibility of a remake for KH1 at this point in time. KH1 was a game you really had to grew up in that time to really appreciate or grasp. But I welcome vast improvements if it takes a remake to do so. Further more if it potentially appeals more new comers.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a Kingdom Hearts Remake releases. I would imagine that it would be called something like “Kingdom Hearts Final Remix”. I imagine it would be step one of a plan to remake the core trilogy starting with KH1 Final Remix and then eventually doing KH2 Final Remix and KH3 Final Remix with a possibility of doing more like Dream Drop Distance, Birth By Sleep, and others. Knowing Square they would probably make it exclusive to a certain console, and my guess would actually be the Switch 2! It’s been rumored that Square wants to release KH4 on all major consoles including thinking about releasing it on Switch 2, so how hype would it be that during a Nintendo Direct they announce a KH1 Final Remix with gameplay and then announce that they also plan to make remakes of the other 2 down the road similar to how the Dragon Quest HD-2D Remakes were shown off. It would be a great way to get a massive new audience on the Nintendo side of things and either get Nintendo players ready for KH4 or release the Final Remix’s instead of KH4!
If I recall dream drop distance was originally supposed to be a KH1 remake during early development so it isn't like they haven't attempted remaking the classics beforehand. Also side tangent but can someone please explain to me why anyone wants 358/2 days and recoded to get remakes? Recoded is already remake so I think it'd just be redundant to remake a remake. And Days while having arguably the best story in the series, also has the worst gameplay out of all the franchise.
Thats exactly why people want a Days remake, because the gameplay hasnt aged well, but the story is good. And i think that people want a Re:Coded remake because the original game is stuck in the NDS and looks bad for modern standarts. Even tough i believe that A Re:Coded Remix would be better, considering the only problem with the game is the graphics
@@FernandoSantana4920Honestly, the graphics are fine. There's something very charming about DS games. They look _great_ upscaled on melonDS or Melon Mix.
@@FernandoSantana4920 The textures are fine, personally. The DS has no texture filtering, which makes its games look a bit like PS1 games with sharp blocky textures, rather than blurry textures like on N64.
@@Icarus975 Well technicly no since the source code of kh1 has been lost ( that's why kh1 on 1.5 uses assets from dream drop distance and not the originals) so it would be very difficult to almost impossible. But there's still a chance that it could happen since the source code of diablo 1 was also lost but they managed to decompile it. But if this happened disney will do whatever they can to take down any atempt.😂😂
@@jimbi0768 Hi! KH1 modder here. Offering some corrections based on what I know. KH1's source code being lost meant that Square had to build the KH1 remaster on top of a retail copy of the game. The remaster uses the original game's code as-is, assets and all, plus additional code on top of that for the new features like EXP Zero, Combo Master, and the updated textures and UVs. Losing the original code doesn't mean assets like models were lost; it meant that they were harder to replace with the new assets. You can still find literally all of the old assets in the files! There's also a dedicated modding community for Kingdom Hearts called OpenKH, and they're doing a great job reverse-engineering the Kingdom Hearts games. We're doing new things with the games all the time!
I tried getting my best friend into KH but she’s at the Wonderland world and is already starting to get frustrated with the camera and lack of objectives for knowing where to go and how to defeat a boss. Also she hates how Sora can’t block yet and thinks he’s clunky. She thinks that Donald and Goofy suck as party members cuz they keep dying. She’s feeling pretty unmotivated to finish it but I keep telling her that it gets better in the future games. She still isn’t convinced that it will though, so any suggestions on how I can get her to keep going?
I would also add that this would make Square Enix more money by the fact that instead of customers having to wait for new entries to the series that you can tide them over with remakes of the old games while still working on the newer entries. I would also add a Dark Road Remake too as I would love to play as Young Xehanort in full 3D HD and not have to pay for services.
During one of my latest playthroughs of kh1 I noticed that in like Neverland you can use potions in midair whereas you cannot otherwise like you can in kh3 so if KH1 and 2 got a remake like the modern KH games we have today I would definitely like to see the use of potions in midair it's very minor but I think it would be a nice little addition
Damn, I didn't think watching this would make me so hyped for a game that is only theoretical, lol. If KH1 Remake ever does see the light of day, I really hope they introduce the concepts that you bring up! Great video, man!
To be honest, i went back and beat KH1 just a couple days ago. And having also touched RE:CoM and BbS again.... KH1 is fine as it is. It's a little clunky, but all it really needs to be on the level of the other titles is a zoomed out camera and a mini map. I'm sure there's gotta be a mod for that eventually. Square took years to get the whole collection out to playstation and then to port it to PC. And honestly, it still looks and plays better than ps3 games do. So I'd rather them cook up how to evolve the next couple games.
Let’s not. It’s completely unnecessary since the artstyle is timeless. We need a Union X compilation for console and pc first. We need whatever resources Square has to make NEW games. We used to get games in between the tent pole releases to flesh out the lore and tide things over. We need to get back to that and I know it’s hard because game dev is WAY more involved than it used to be but we are starving for anything. By the the time KH4 comes out we will only have had a rhythm game with 20 minutes of new story and a mobile game with more quintessential lore. No actual kingdom hearts games in terms of gameplay in between.
If we get a remake a change I would love is adding another story based Super boss like Xemnas, and have it be either Marluxia or Axel since they are the main villains of chain of memories and we don’t know their missions before Roxas joined, or have it be somekind of illusion like the CoM fights in KH2 of Vanitas’s remains in BBS, and it could be someone like Terranort or something like that.
No thank you. I really don't think they should even think about remaking it unless the whole Kingdom Hearts series comes to a close (which is something I really don't want to think about lol)
I'm a bit skeptical about a remake due to gameplay reasons. Imo gameplay is king, kingdom hearts 1 has some very interesting combat mechanics when it comes to magic, damage storage etc. I remember there was tech you could pull off in the old spyro games but you can't do it in the reignited trilogy because the laws of physics are a bit different. If intricate things get lost in translation to better graphics, personally I would rather development costs be put into making games that will progress the story instead of remaking. With final fantasy games in general what I just said Is meaningless because they are for the bigger part turn based games to some extent.
KH1 does not need a remake. All hands on deck are needed to bring back that magic feeling with good writing and story. Especially since kh3 is a different game from 1&2 moving away from its original final fantasy counterpart.
Since Dark Road doesn't require a unique player, it could be cool to have a movie of it. Like KH Back Cover but slightly longer. That way we can cap off that story. Also, remake Union Cross but as a fighting game similar to the Naruto Ninja Storm games. Include cool cinematics and unlock voiced cinematics that we can rewatch as a full movie upon completion of the game.
Nah, KH1 has stood the test of time and will forever stand the test of time. You have to embrace the jank in order to love how well put together KH2 is. KH1 remake will bring nothing to the table, and ngl wouldn't be as fun. KH1 combat system is unique and amazing. Just get mods to fix the little janky bits of the gameplay. Hell, even KH3 combat isn't as good as KH2 combat. They had to make a whole DLC to fix most of the issues the gameplay had. KH2 English (aka Base KH2), yes, missing combo master and whatnot is still a better combat and better feeling game than Base KH3. So, remaking KH1 probably would have only fixed the janky camera and nothing else and bring nothing of actual value to the experience of the game. Because the camera is the only bad thing about KH1, that's it. Either way, it's an all around bad idea and should not be pushed any further imo
I mean, as someone who has been playing these games since 2004: I personally don't need a KH1 remake. Going from the PS2 original to current versions of Final Mix brought enough upgrades to me for me to be mostly satisfied with what we have now. Hell, I don't even need the Steam versions of most of the games since the PS4 versions on a PS4 Pro seem to be maintaining 60 frames at 4K more often than not. But, since I'm one of those people who needs to see things in order to believe them, Square might as well go for it at some point. Maybe it'll hit me like the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy and Crisis Core where I'm on pins and needles waiting for the games to be on Steam, or I can either put it on the back burner or sometimes forget it's existence. Though with all that said, I'm in the 358/2 Days needing a remake camp. I don't want to over-hype 358 for those who haven't played it, but watching the movie doesn't do the game the same amount of justice, especially for a game that's focused around Roxas and Organization XIII. That to me would be a more significant uplift, from Nintendo DS and Unreal 5, compared to KH1 only being kind of janky at times but still very playable.
Well if does happen they have to retconned the first game, and make it connect the 4th one.The chain of memories remake ending was different it showed the organization 13 instead of you seeing older Sora sleeping.
I'm playing it right now on proud mode, level 1, no accessory changes and it still holds up. So, in my opinion, we need the mobile games to be remade more than anything else.
i think remaking Kingdom Hearts 1 at all, would take away a lot that i already love and like about kingdom hearts 1. I agree that the idea of a FFVII style remake for KH1 would be interesting but just focus that creative direction into just a VERUM REX game instead of a kingdom hearts game. As everyone else said, just focus this creativity onto new entries, instead of remaking KH1. The market is already oversaturated with remakes of old games. Of course there are good remakes that keep the original vision and intentional game design intact but there is equal chance for a remake to take away those original aspects of the game that made it appealing and unique compared to other releases in that time, and make it more uniform. Less special. Persona 3 Reload has this issue and I don't want that to happen with Kingdom Hearts 1. Kingdom Hearts Final Mix is fine as is. Remember that not every game is for everybody. If that friend of yours simply didn't like Kingdom Hearts, that is them. This want to make every game super accessible, and uniform is dragging down modern day game design. Besides, just watch the cutscenes online if you want to experience Kingdom Hearts really badly. That is already what a large portion of Kingdom Hearts fans do. Because before the remastered collection releases were separated onto separate consoles. If there needs to be a remake, remake Union X and in the case of Union X I think that would work really well as a MMO in the manner of Final Fantasy XIV.
Eh I couldn’t disagree more with a lot of this. Yea it’s an old game with its quirks but that’s a part of its charm. Especially working your way through the entire series it’s nice to see where we started and where we got to. By no means do I think it aged poorly especially compared to other games of same console generation. Like others I’d rather the time/resources be put towards a remake of 358/2 and union X. Or maybe even actually just moving the franchise forward. On top of all that if they went the ff7 route(which I’m kinda disliking after part 2) I feel like it’d just add even more unnecessary confusion to the franchise that we just don’t need. It’s already difficult for some individuals to get into b/c of that singular aspect.
I’d definitely be up for a from the Ground Up Remake of the original Kingdom Hearts for the reasons you just mentioned. This would also redeem another disliked world, Atlantica. It could use the swimming controls from The Caribbean in Kingdom Hearts III and make the world a lot more fun to traverse.
I think we could do both where the KH1 Remake is the game inside Verum Rex's world but at the same time work as not a reboot but an updated insert into the universe where instead of the original you play this, unlike with FF7 Remake where it worked as a sort of sequel/alternate timeline, this would simply be an alternative way to start the series. I also think they should use the same/similar art style to KH1 2 or 3 and not go fully into the HD style they got for KH4 just cause it feel weird playing KH1 if it was an art style like KH4 trailer then in KH2 it was that old style design but that's just me.
"yeah just remove the entire world..." no wonder why companies play us dumb. they got dumb youtubers giving dumb ideas that the gamers don't want. unsubbed
Sure just keep the Art Style the same just make the textures very high resolution and more polygon count and better Animation Detail. I really don't like the Kingdom Shader for the older Disney movies. its great for CGI Disney movies but not the hand drawn 2D ones.
I would argue your friend just isn't into old school fun good game design and needs to be told where to go and have invisible walls like KH 2 which infuriated me so much.
On the deep jungle world, you wouldn't actually need to remove it. Tarzan is now in the public domain and any characters disney created are owned by them.
Im hoping that we get another release somewhat like 2.8 was, just drop a bundled package of 1 remade and have 358 in a modern platform with little re work. Drop union cross as a 3d viewable movie and theyre cooking. Be something to hold the fanbase over until 4 is ready.
I want to see Keyblade transformations for the KH1 keyblades Like Wishing Star Turning into something that puppeteers Heartless enemies in its finisher
they shouldve made an offline khux version. like you can play everything every event every raid boss you could get every medal with in game currency you earn and unlock events and medals like that. like seperate currency that didnt exist before
i mean a lot of the games remade these days are late 90s early 2000s games and kingdom hearts is one of the most nostalgic games from that era. For that reason alone, it makes since to remake it .
Your opinion, and I respect it, but... I don't think there is any reason to remake a masterpiece. Kh1 was and is extremely well received even from people who didn't continue the serie, or tried to and weren't crazy about it. Kh1 had platform, Tech points, intelligent and dynamic magics, it was hardcore hard, had alternative cutscenes based on the order you made things, immense content, exp-grinding coloseum and overall an unbeatable charm. Its "problems" aren't even problems, it's how the game worked with his pros and cons, like any other title, but it did and still does its job amazingly, in an unique way and is not even near in need of a remake, cause I think it actually hold up great. I made so many people play KH as my favourite serie of all time and I never, not even once, saw someone avoid to succumb to KH1 charm, consistently considering it their favourite in different cases, telling how "it having its own unique magic feeling about it". Could it have a better camera? Yes. I would not touch anything else.
If there’s any big remake that I want; it’s recoded and 358/2 days my nigga I swear, bro that’s all I truly want to happen. I just want those two games and that’s it. Continue the series.

It doesn't need to. That's totally the route Nomura would take and we all know it😂
KH1 hasn’t aged that badly in comparison to many other games from around that time.
I’d rather a remake of KH3 where it’s not a garbage game.

If they did remakes instead of all of these ports... then It'd be a little more justifiable to buy kingdom hearts again. At this point, Kingdom Hearts is up there with Skyrim with it's re-releases
It would be very nice to have a remake of all the kingdom hearts, or at least all the mainline titles at least.
@wolfeler166 I'd be completely fine with that. I wish we got passion projects like that at some point 😊
No remake. KH4 needs to be next
I Agree
True 🎉 agree indeed 💯
Absolutely not for 2 reasons. They would just port the physics from KH3 to 1 when the whole narrative point of Sora is how his air game gets higher each game and Nomura would just re contextualize the story
we *NEED* a remake of 358/2 Days!
Main character being Roxas ✅
Playing as all Organization 13 members ✅
Arguably the best self-contained story in the franchise ✅
Multiplier co-op on missions ✅
The limits for each character you play as ✅
Duel-wield Roxas ✅
Being a self contained story is exactly why they felt it was fine to only include the cutscenes in the remasters. Days really doesn't matter much to the current story arc that UX built up and KH4 is continuing from. I rather have a UX remake. That story is just too important to leave on mobile phones.
boring repetitive missions ✅
difficult controls because it was on the DS ✅
would take a lot of effort to remake it and would take time out of kh4 development ✅
The main thing which I'm not sure about is how the changes in gameplay also show the growth of sora.
Square can never capture the magic of KH1. It does not have the talented people that made KH1 so great. KH1 is a masterpiece.
Kh1 doesnt need a remake before 385/2 days or recoded
People said something similar to me when I suggested NES Final Fantasy 2 get a remake. They said "not before 6 or 9".
@@DragTidus The point of a remake is to make it better than before. Saying "don't bother" to a crucial KH game ruins the story elements that could be elaborated on and improved. I get you want KH4, but you're showing a very regressive attitude with that comment.

I think KH1 is pretty well aged i actually enjoy it more than KH2 the first one doesn't need a remake
Hard disagree
My nostalgia says the clunky movement is part of the experience. But after going through monstro again i changed my mind, especially once i started with kh 2
KH1 really does not need it, at least not graphically. The only things that need improvement is the movement and camera, but even that is just part of the era. People can learn to deal with it. Is it frustrating? Yes. But that is also a good life lesson. Not everything is easy or will cater to what you want. Some times you just have to put more effort in.
Quick question- if Tarzan is copyrighted, how was 1.5 made for the ps4?
I don't agree at all.
Alot of the problems in the series are addressed by playing other games in the series.
You think the story has plot holes ? The other games at least make attempts to fill stuff in.
You think the gamefeel is bad ? Just play kingdom hearts 3
You want to experience the specific disney worlds for yourself? Get the remake bundle
You think soras voice changed too much between kingdom hearts 1 and 2 ? Tough luck. That's such a weird nitpick
Your not solving any problems and everything can be addressed by an antgology collection on new gen consoles ( kingdom hearts 2.5 and 2.8 bundled together )
Naaaaahhhhhhhhh let's just keep moving forward and stick to new titles. I respect your point of view, but It's probably best to keep KH1 and the rest as they are, with an exception of the Union Cross title.
358/2 Days too
if they remade KH1 they would also take that stylistic charm out of it somehow.
I respect your opinion but I don’t think it needs one.
It’s time to move on.
We are at a new saga, let’s get it
In Re:CoM’s defense, the translation took longer to happen and released after 2 for everywhere else outside of Japan.
I like it the way it is flaws and all.
absolutely not, leave it alone it is perfect the way it is with its ps2 graphics
Nah put it in pcsx2 and upscale it looks beautiful
Maybe for games like 358/2 Days and Re: Coded, but leave the others alone.
I can see 2 reasons as to why they should remake kh1
Kh1 was the only game to include a heavy focus on platforming other than the rpg systems, beside kh2's cavern of remembrance, so remaking it could give them ideas to better implement platforming in future entries, it also gave a good focus on exploration and going back to older areas with new abilities, such as the trinities, getting that system back or something of the sort would give world exploration some much needed deapth, like unlocking an ability in a future world that could be used in one of the first worlds to unlock a new area with a unique accessory or miniboss, also kh1 was the only kingdom hearts game, as far as I remember that gave you keyblades outside of world completion, major story events or defeating some kind of boss, like the pinochio keyblade that you only get if you talk to gepetto in traverse town, getting keyblades as a reward for exploration or sidequests would be pretty good
Number 2 is that Kh1 is a bit clunky sometimes, it holds up very well even in 2024, but some gameplay systems could be ironed out to give a more fluid experience, for example the gummy ship missions by making it mostly optional like kh3 or making it a genuinely interesting mini game like kh2
With how many times KH1 has gotten a retread, we don’t need to waste time on a remake
KH1 doesn't need a remake
honestly the anecdote with your friend sounds like a skill issue lmao
really is. i went through the same thing with my friend, except i made him play birth by sleep first which he had no issue with. it's just kingdom hearts 1 isn't as beginner friendly as the other entries where they guide you around each world, it makes you actually figure shit out. people arent used to it.

@@TheAbsol7448 Yeah but the Textures arent that good considering modern standarts, unless you add a texture package
@@FernandoSantana4920 The textures are fine, personally. The DS has no texture filtering, which makes its games look a bit like PS1 games with sharp blocky textures, rather than blurry textures like on N64.
@@TheAbsol7448 Yeah on Second tought, the only thing I think that needs to be added Is Joystick support for controller
Nomura doesn't want to do remakes anymore, which is why 358/2 days and re:coded haven't been remade and never will
If anything I want KH1&2 to be reverse engineered like Zelda OT, MM, and Mario 64.
Can it be possible even?
One thing I would want for this remake is to change the party system to the Kingdom Hearts 3 party system play you don't have to worry about Trinity
Before a remake of the original, I would first prefer proper remakes of 358/2 days, Coded and X.
Show her how you do it and give small tips and hints here and there so that she can get better at the game, and motivate her to keep playing ❤️
Bro....that is SUCH A GOOD IDEA!
I want a remake even more now! Lol
I don’t want a remake and I don’t think we need one.
Same
To be honest, i went back and beat KH1 just a couple days ago.
They need to fix the targeting system. So you attack in the direction the stick is pointed. Instead of who is next to you.
4:35 This narrative setup would actually be crazy, and it fits KH like a glove
Thinking about Yozora saying "I've been having these weird thoughts lately" because he played kingdom hearts as a kid made me wanna cry 😭
I would be afraid Square would try to "expand" on the original. Kingdom Hearts 1 is so good because it is great as a self contained story
I'd be onboard with this if they rewrote the 3rd game
KH1 does not need a remake. All hands on deck are needed to bring back that magic feeling with good writing and story. Especially since kh3 is a different game from 1&2 moving away from its original final fantasy counterpart.
Wow i like the idea!
If there is still the "You stupid" line from Sora I see no reason to be against this idea
I don’t wanna go back to grind for the defender shield for goofy again for the platinum
I'm already losing my mind waiting for 4. I don't think we have been starved this long of information on the next entry
A Kingdom Hearts remake isn't happening. I get that we're kind of starved for content but this is just straight up clickbait bullshit.
Would be awful to remake them after so many rereleases and they ALL hold up. Theres already reason to buy the game 3+times.
Well if does happen they have to retconned the first game, and make it connect the 4th one.The chain of memories remake ending was different it showed the organization 13 instead of you seeing older Sora sleeping.
I'm using this idea for my fan fiction.
I'm playing it right now on proud mode, level 1, no accessory changes and it still holds up. So, in my opinion, we need the mobile games to be remade more than anything else.
I'd be all for this concept! A kh1 remake that connects to kh4 would be absolutely amazing!
I'm all for it. Recently my girlfriend started it and she couldn't get behind how slow it's paced and how slow the combat is.
i think remaking Kingdom Hearts 1 at all, would take away a lot that i already love and like about kingdom hearts 1.
Besides,
just watch the cutscenes online if you want to experience Kingdom Hearts really badly.
That is already what a large portion of Kingdom Hearts fans do. Because before the remastered collection releases were separated onto separate consoles.
If there needs to be a remake,
remake Union X
and in the case of Union X I think that would work really well as a MMO in the manner of Final Fantasy XIV.
It’s already difficult for some individuals to get into b/c of that singular aspect.
better drop rates for the synthesis so you don't have this grind(ish) feeling for acquiring ultima
"yeah just remove the entire world..."
no wonder why companies play us dumb. they got dumb youtubers giving dumb ideas that the gamers don't want.
KH1 doesn’t need a remake, 358/2 days does.
I’d rather they focus on creating new games first😂
I want to see Keyblade transformations for the KH1 keyblades
Like Wishing Star Turning into something that puppeteers Heartless enemies in its finisher
they shouldve made an offline khux version. like you can play everything every event every raid boss you could get every medal with in game currency you earn and unlock events and medals like that. like seperate currency that didnt exist before
i mean a lot of the games remade these days are late 90s early 2000s games and kingdom hearts is one of the most nostalgic games from that era.
I’m gonna be honest we gotta move on
If there’s any big remake that I want; it’s recoded and 358/2 days my nigga I swear, bro that’s all I truly want to happen. I just want those two games and that’s it. Continue the series.
