It’s foolish to imply that any platform isn’t buying games, people buy what they want. Gaming as we know it is under attack, soon we’ll only have service games… the casuals are breaking gaming. Every platform except Nintendo has 6 or 7 service games in the top 10. I joke on here, but I got love for all gamers. Exclusivity is the killer of IP though, timed exclusivity is bad for games. The marketing cycle has burned, people have watched videos and the hype is gone. Just look at what Sony is doing for TLOU2 and Spider-Man 2 for PC… one video. Square Enix thinks it's still the year 2000 and they're still a marquee publisher while being surpassed by Sega and Bandia Namco ect I'm sure they're currently in the process of f'ing up Dragon Quest trying to chase a "younger modern audience" while Atlus and RGG release banger after banger
Personally, FF15 on launch made me angry because it felt incomplete, botched. If I wasn't a fan I would never have bought 16 at full price because of that. Maybe Square experimented with FF too much over the years.

Of 10-13, 10 is best. Of 14-16, 14 is best. We have yet to see the next set of 3 to see which is seen as universally as “best”. Personally I hope they stay within the medieval theme and aesthetic. Perhaps they go back to the world of Ivalice and combine the story and ideas from FFT and Vagrant story. I enjoyed 12, but that was too lighthearted for me, and Vaan was worse protagonist than Lightning.
Finally some the understand squares real issue they put out 2 shit games 15 and 13 were both bad games and they released 13 13'2 and lightnigh returns people are tired of squares nonsense
Metaphor sold about 1.1 million copies. I don't think people are into turn based as you think they are Final Fantasy 15 is like AC Valhalla. It got the most copies sold and was the worst game of the series by far. Battle won war lost. A ps4 player hasn't bought a day 1 game in 2 years. Remember that 40k number is for a $50 game, it's on sale at launch.
I quit consoles a long time ago. I just bought rebirth and pixel remasters collection on pc. Sales are hard to read on pc because some people work for a living. So you having gamers playing one game at the same time is hard all around the world. Also, this is online readings, so if you play offline steam deck, it doesn't count. Pc gamers wait when ports are horrible. This port is bad don't let any noobs tell you otherwise.
