I have exactly the same problem with the same koken chair. Thank you for sharing. Can you make a video how to disassemble this chair, please or just show the steps. Thank you
I’ll work on that and let you know when I do. Or subscribe and it will notify you. I’ve worked on many types of chairs and this one is by far the biggest pain to work on. I’ll try to get a video up soon!
Hi Ray, I am looking for a headrest for my 1966 Emil Paidar barber chair. Would you happen to have one or suggest who might have one? Thanks...Appreciate your time!! Enjoyed the video!
Is the handle stuck or is just freely moving? If it’s not pumping it’s usually something internal in the cylinder. First it could just be out of oil. Second the O ring inside is bad and it can’t maintain pressure. Or third the o ring has slipped out of the groove and is pinched between the cylinder wall causing it to be stuck or very stiff. There’s tons of videos of people separating cylinders. You will need a friend to help you. Make sure the pump handle is all the way down and lift the cylinder out. You can go to a heavy duty hydraulic mechanic or shop and they’ll be able to give you a new O ring. If not just measure the width of the cylinder and order one off an O ring supply store. Hope this helps! Feel free to ask more questions
I moved my Koken from parents' home to mine and lost hydraulic oil while it was tilted on the dolly. How do you add oil? All functions work, up, down recline...it just will not lift to top now.
@@jeffreywood8961 try removing the seat they’re might not be a cover plate on there. Fill directly from the top. If the plate is on and there’s no whole with a little door on there you will have to unscrew all four of the main bolts holding the chair onto the pump. Then remove chair then the plate…a huge pain with this style chair. Let me know what you see
If you can take the cylinder to a hydraulic shop and they’ll probably just give you one. That or measure the diameter of the cylinder and order one online. There’s sights where you can buy any size.

I’ll be uploading it very shortly
