I purchased my 1972 Mach 1 on November 3, 1971. A senior in high school. 351 Cleveland in 2B bright red. AM w/8-track with the Mach 1 sports interior like this one. He failed to mention that $119 option! Of course I still have it. We grew up together.
Hard to believe that it wouldn't overheat without the radiator fan shroud. Good looking and sounding car. I have a 73 Gran Torino Sport with the 351c and four speed that I own for the past 48 years.
I used to restore Mustangs and the reason it pulls to the right is ford put way too soft rubber bushings in the lower control arms and the wheels work their way outward, especially when a mechanic changes just one bushing or the whole control arm just on one side. It's VERY easy to fix. you get a polyurethane bushing kit, Under $20 for both sides .
I Love the 71,s and 72,s Prefer the front grill over the 73,s. Not too bad, i like it, 351 4V Top Loader, for a running and driving Mach 1 with a great engine option for under $30,000, seems like it's gonna be a good deal for someone.
When I was in my 20s. I had A nineteen seventy three mark one it had a 351 with 4 bearl heads 4 bolt main caps 4 speed Top lower Trans and 371 rear-end gears position rearend. Detroit locker rearend. Call factory. Went to ford and was told factory Race car. Memo in my sixties Now I'm in my 60s. I wish I had never sold it.
@@AmericanMustangs Not if you're STRICTLY in the market for a 65 or 66 with option's. This car is the year, in my opinion, the beginning of the Mustamg's darker days.
@@michaelgoldberg7127I've had a 66 coupe, 67 fastback, and a. 71 Mach1. I now have a M code 71 Mach1 and a 71 sportsroof. Best built first generation I ever owned. $28K is a fair asking price for a car this nice.
Sorry but wrong spoiler & placement. I would fire the seat guy..poor job! That interior pretty poor for the mileage! And that engine & compartment, gaudy all day long but if that your thing, i guess, a very few dollars invested in the right place & u could get way more money!
$28 wow! Way overpriced but for classic car dealer's i guess cause everything is garbage there! Engine sounds like crap, too bad, when actually sorted they sound awesome!
I love the sound of a Cleveland in the morning
Great car for the money, I think the 71s are way underrated
Beautiful Mustang!! The last of the great Mustangs. Awesome 351 Cleveland engine 😁.

so cool! I’m a Corvette/GM guy, but I’m telling you I would own this. I love these Mach1’s!
great walk around.

I had a 1973 351 ram air car! Power windows and door locks, A/C, P/B, P/S, FMX automatic, with Super Deluxe interior like this one! Sure do miss it!
I hope whoever buys this the 1st thing they do is put a fanshroud on it!!
Awesome car, ride and video. What a great looking engine. Personally I like '71-'73s a lot.
I am generally not a Ford guy, but this car is absolutely gorgeous, and love the engine.
@1:29 Being a '71, its interesting to see that the engine is a 'square' block. Here in Australia, our '71 cars came with the older 'D' blocks.
This is an identical twin to the one I bought in 1974. Mine had the factory 8-track. She was a big ol' boat of a Mustang.

I miss mine so much 😭

Nice!
Didn't they still have the chrome bumper in front for the 71s?
Not Mach 1s
Yes why does this one have the rubber bumper
How can I track down this color scheme or other 1971 Colors? I’m trying to recreate a Mustang that been in the family for a long time.
Nice, but get a fan shroud before someone hurts themselves
What’s the rear gear? Also originally a spoiler and slats car?
The spoiler was a $20 option. The slats went away with the 1970 Mustang. However quality aftermarket slats were available
I don't see this car on your website.
Is this car still for sale?
How about some AFFORDABLE Mustang's??????????????????????

28,000 today is unheard of for a Mach 1. This is an extremely affordable car. A lot of car for the money. Anything less will be a 65-66 coupe.

A.c. not working
Probably not since the compressor is off.
