So I work with dementia service users, and one of the lady's "Margaret "celebrated her 💯th birthday. Now I'm one of the older carers there so I'm familiar with all the older songs,so I just started to sing this and Margaret started to sing along ,oooh my she sang it word to word, beginning to end,now let me tell you all the time I've worked in care this has just melted my heart, £8.91 shocking for the amount of care we do,but this day I would have worked for nothing, just seeing her happy, smiling and singing.👏👏👏👏👏👏 I applaud you Margaret. And a letter off the Queen. Oh and Margaret's nickname is Queenie.
The Nicholas brothers tap dancinging was phenomenal!! When theses brothers were young the at there best. The Nicholas brother invented breakdancing of the 1980's. Love! watching the Nicholas Brothers.
I love your people, too! I can’t watch this enough! My father was a piano 🎹 player; they called him Duke. We grew up listening to the big bands every weekend. Nat ‘King’ Cole and Lena Horne were among my parents’ favorites. 🎶 🖤🤍😀
Yes. It sometimes brings a (happy) tear to my eye when I watch people like the Nicholas brothers, Dorothy Dandridge, Thelonious Monk, Sammy Davis, The Temptations, Nat King Cole, Dizzy Gillespie... you get the idea. Oh how I love the performing arts.
Man, if you can't get down with that bass line and those drum rim shots there's something wrong with your mojo. Imagine all this great music going on in the middle of WWII! People were invigorated by the Big Band sound and we grew it right here in the good old USA. It's great to see Miss Dandridge here, a great star.
@@januquariaspace683 Speaking of Jackie Wilson, I've been a Tony Bennett fan since I was a little kid... and even then, I was mimicking his rendition of "Rags to Riches" after my folks first bought a CD that had quite a number of his hits (CDs just hit the market), so that tells you how old I might be (i won't confirm or deny anything!). But years.... decades... later, when I played a little PC game called "Mafia 2", it came bundled with quite a large collection of songs from the 1940's and 1950's.... that's when I was introduced to Jackie Wilson's performance of that same song....... and get this: it totally blows Tony Bennett's version out of the water! Have a listen! th-cam.com/video/xW_Pk5R53y0/w-d-xo.html
Harold Nicholas. Their daughter Harolyn was born brain dead and remained in hospitals all of her life. He eventually walked out on Dorothy & the daughter when she was a little girl
That's why I love America...

your people? so, nothing to do with me then. What gives you the right to claim something as yours???
for me, I love talent, of all hues. That's it. I also hate woke pseudo statements.
