I prefer the sound of the razer seiren mini but it’s nice to see a budget mic with a mute button even if it has a small click. They at least tried to do something to distinguish themselves from the competition with the mute button
Well, color me shocked! I was genuinely torn between investing in the Neumann U87 and settling for the HyperX. Your comparison has been a real eye-opener, and now I can happily bid adieu to my dreams of a "Hello, Neumann" world, and embrace the audacious charm of the HyperX Solo. / Love your videos, thank you. :-)
That music test was honestly a very good listen, Like I want to listen to it again and again because I love how you played the instruments and I like your singing part as well.
I've recommended this mic to a few friends in the past, it's a pretty inoffensive entry level mic. It's also usually a really good budget option when it's on sale. It's $42 right now but I've seen it in the 30's before. Considering that it's a recognizable "gamer" brand with a good warranty, it's an easy recommendation.
thank you for the massive review ! in my country it's now for 37 USD (new), has much of good reviews on the internet, and the snowball is for 60 USD so i will take the SoloCast for gaming + discord.
@@Podcastage You're welcome. I'm just stating the facts, my friend. Your video quality is outstanding, you thoroughly examine microphones in every detail and use their audio throughout the video, and your witty moments and comparisons are incredibly original and impressive. On top of that, you even play the guitar and sing songs-wow! 😊 I don’t know if hi-fi devices fall within your expertise, but I think it would be amazing if you could review them too-like DACs, headphones, and speakers. I wish you continued success! With love from Turkey! 😊
i just subscribe men you do good job when it come on mic reviews etc and believe me i have see most of the audio channels and find yours easy to get what you say because you provide examples keep the good work m8
Thanks for yet another good review...a nice sounding mic. However the lack of zero latency monitoring is a dealbreaker for me in USB land, especially if you are VO guy.
Neat review! Bandrew, i've recently adquired a 512 Audio Tempest, a USB mic by Warm Audio's sub brand 512 Audio (I think you've already covered one of their mics), and it's regarded as a "large diaphragm (34 mm) USB condenser mic, inspired by the WA47jr" (and claims they have a pretty similar sound as well). I think it sounds pretty good, it has gain dial and headphones dial It would be interesting to see it reviewed and compared against other USB mics and the WA47jr itself. I bought it at 80$ (it was at 150$ when it launched in 2022)
I got this for the second half of the pandemic, for classes and gaming with my friends, at that time it was pretty much the only option, for my needs then and now (some online conferences, and gaming) I think is pretty solid, the first time I used it my friends were surprised.
its so funny hearing the drastic change in sound quality with all of the mics when it switches to the at2020 and im not even a fan of the 2020s sound and oh man I want to get a u87 so badly it sounds so nice
Wow, the Blue Snowball and Neumann U87Ai were both impressive. The sound quality of both was fantastic in the test, especially the Blue Snowball's sound pattern, which is very close to the Neumann U87Ai. On the other hand, the HyperX SoloCast is a bit pale and high-pitched.
Is that Q2U an older version? The high frequencies sound a bit harsh. Wish there were more budget mics reviews. btw I'd also love to have the Neat Worker Bee 2 vs its older version
It has some notable resonances that sounded decent inoffensive on vocals but pretty awful on electric guitar. Acoustic guitar didn’t sound half bad tho for some reason
I don't have any of the music published yet, but I set a goal to release something this year. Thank you so much for those kind words, it really means a lot.
Sounds good and clear enough for voice for the price, though you could get a 20 dollar condenser one, put it on an arm and with a filter (such as the program sonar by steelseries) you're good to go.
i have razer seiren x and want to get a new mic because it got old and i'm sick of hearing breath / room sounds when i'm editing videos , all mics in this video also seem to take a lot of mouth noises :( any suggestions ?
I've got one. Sound's really good for a cheap usb microphone. Using asio4all with vb audio matrix/voicemeeter banana to hear myself without delay (128samples. Esi maya44e master clock)
Hey podcastage, ive been looking into buying a new mic. I make youtube videos, occasionally stream and also occasionally record vocals for my songs. What mic would you recommend to me? My budget ends at $200, any advice/suggestion from you would be great. I have been watching your videos for the past week or so and cant decide what to choose. Could you please steer me in the right direction.
Hi, is this Mic(Hyperx solocast) compatible with an android tablet? I want to use it with my Samsung tab s8 plus so I want to make sure it will work with it. I want to buy this Mic to do voiceovers for my TH-cam videos :)
I’d personally pick up the Go Mic. I like the sound of those and I want the headphone jack of the Go Mic for monitoring the mic. But if someone wants the mute button at the $40 tier there aren’t too many options that I can think of. Maybe a USB dynamic with an on/off switch ATR2005 or ATR2100.
You mean the Samson Go mic? I agree!! I was quite surprised at how good it sounds for the money and I love that it has a headphone jack as well!@@Podcastage
I got this during the amazon prime sale, but had to return. Unfortunately the mic has to be placed close to you so the others can hear you well, making it not comfortable to be used for streaming/ work calls.
YESSSS A CHAIR FALL TO START THE YEAR
Been using this mic for months now, really solid mic.
Love your reviews my man!
This was the BEST microphone review I EVER watched and now I am subscribed
I prefer the sound of the razer seiren mini but it’s nice to see a budget mic with a mute button even if it has a small click. They at least tried to do something to distinguish themselves from the competition with the mute button
Honestly in the entire list the seirin sounded the worst out of the ones reviewed
Danke!
Thank you so much Rainer! Happy New Year my friend.

I was kind of impressed with how it sounded on the desk.. decent mic
That music test was honestly a very good listen, Like I want to listen to it again and again because I love how you played the instruments and I like your singing part as well.
Also thank you for your review, I will absolutely get the microphone because of your review which was very helpful to me.
thanks again for your reviews, you are the really best in audio analysis and help for decide purchase it
Came for the review. Stayed for the review and for the music.
Keep up with the amazing work 🗿
Best audio review ever, I was tired by the time you demonstrated all the comparisons!
Again, my favorite section is the music section. I like your creativity.
I disagree Bandrew, I appreciate the passion behind that box throw; it's a great way to begin the year!!!!

Thank you for this review! I need one TOMORROW so this one is in stock at a local store and I'm going to get it!
Another banger vid. Thanks for this!
My personal favourite budget usb mic simply because of how small and locally cheap it is.. And mute button
Thanks for the comprehensive comparison and review!

My Hyperx Quadcast S started to die so I picked up a Deity VO-7U at 50% off. I couldn't find a review from you on it. But I am happy with it
Your reviews are brilliant
That really means a lot. Thank you for watching!

I disagree, Bannrew. That was a GREAT box throw to start the year.
Also, your music tests have gotten so good.
Not too bad for the price. Great video as aleays
Thanks a bunch!! Very well made video!
Really good comparison video, thanks for the info!
Spicy start to the year!

Thanks so much that means a lot. Welcome on board!
Very decent mic. Very good review. Thanks Bandrew!!
Just picked it up a few weeks ago for video game streams, sounds terrific and is excellent with background noise, even without treatment!
Love ur reviews, thank you❤
Glad you like them. Thanks for watching.
It sounds good to be honest. Sounds as good as the other ones. I have noticed it does need something to diminish the desk sounds.
nice way to start the year 🤪, great video btw
Happy new year sir. Excellent review.
Perfect review

That Q2U was very sibilant 😲
An immediate chair crash!? EXCELLENT! 👽👽👽🤘
Great review as always!
Did you gonna review NT1 Signature Series?
I'm loving the music tests as of late, you've written some really cool stuff to test out each mic with. Full release at some point?
I only came for the instrumental and song… did not disappoint and the lyrical content were great 😂😂😂
Its currently on offer on UK Amazon down at £44 which makes it really attractive with the mute button and acceptable audio for streaming/gaming

Maybe not the best mic for professional recording, but for discord I could imagine this mic being perfect, especially if you can find it on sale.
The thing that always bothered me is that they always put a mic like this on the shortest desk stand
I got this for the second half of the pandemic, for classes and gaming with my friends, at that time it was pretty much the only option, for my needs then and now (some online conferences, and gaming) I think is pretty solid, the first time I used it my friends were surprised.

I’m gonna disagree that the u87 and snowball have anything similar. But I’m glad you found two mics that that you enjoy in this video.
You’re so kind to this mic. Thanks for the video. Hope you’re doing well.

3:12 reciept scanner. First time heared - I thought that you want to scan some kitchen reciepts))
Where can I buy your music? Cuz I want your entire stock/discography. It's, BEAUTIFUL.

Happy New Year🎉
TWO CHANNEL AUDIO MIX PLEASE !
Need a petition - sick of not been able to hear characters talking due to the music/background noise.
Is there a reason why the Elgato Wave 3 wasn't included? Is that still a good choice?

Hi! Thanks for such reach review
But I have a question: is Fifine AM8 better?
yes, it would be nice to have a 2 channel mix
I like the sound of Fifine k688 and Samson Go a bit more, as they sound fuller and less sibilant. But yeah, not bad actually.
Please review the Fifine AM8 microphone
Gotta love Neumann comparison XD
Hello, what is your opinion about IK Multimedia AXE I/O One Audio Interface! Can you do a video about that?!
hey bro, when are you going to be uploading that video in wich you onl sing a solid not, ive been asking on every video for a few months now
I was like "Wow, that Nuemann sounds great!" and then you said the price lmfao yeah that makes sense.
idk what people hear in the razer seiren tbh. To me the solo cast sounds better
Hi, is this Mic(Hyperx solocast) compatible with an android tablet? I want to use it with my Samsung tab s8 plus so I want to make sure it will work with it. I want to buy this Mic to do voiceovers for my TH-cam videos :)
I was going to buy this mic but I think I’m just going to save up for the Neumann.
Who needs expensive distorted 808s when you can simply buy this mic and tap the desk.
Pretty sibilant sounding mic imo. I think the Razer Siren Mini has it beat at the same pricepoint. I had this mic before but returned it :P

Blue Snowball seems like a term that one should never Google...
whats a receipt scanner
What is the best XLR mic for music and podcasts under 500 dollars?
this mic now abous 30$ in my country, is it worth it?
Yes
awesome mic even in a normal room
I couldn’t stand mine. I still have it in storage not sure what to do
With it. I use an sm58 as a gaming mic now.
Please do the Steel series alias, awesome content
HAHAHA, you said "SAD-W" keys, that cracked me up. Not because you didnt say wasd, but because a sad-w sounded funny to me, like a sad win.
I got this during the amazon prime sale, but had to return. Unfortunately the mic has to be placed close to you so the others can hear you well, making it not comfortable to be used for streaming/ work calls.
Curious, was this with AGC off and the volume set to maximum in windows audio device settings?
@@majikthise110yes, all settings were checked but it did not help
Can I connect it with an Iphone 13 pro max?
It took me way too long to figure out what you meant by "SAD W" keys.
The Snowball comes with one fairly obvious perk.
You can easily play catch with it or throw it at someone's head.
@@Podcastage Precisely.
solocast sounds different after each comparision
Maybe 16 bit? SoloCast
solocast or maono dgm20?
I've never used the Maono so I'm not sure.
@@Podcastage thanks
CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ME ANY BUDGET MIC FOR TH-cam MAKING VIDEOS
Amaizing , sad that i got the maono
If it works, don't be bummed about it.
no one is going to talk abt the ring he is wearing.......
OMG
9:25 kekw
This thing has some very unfavorable high end tones
Nobody should be getting picky at this price point.
fisrt
I wanted firs :(
