Clint, thanks for the shout out! Somebody just sent us this link and you made our day! But don't delete the downloads of the actual products you own (they're tiny, like the size of a song on iTunes) because if you ever need to replace a part, make a repair, or have a warranty issue, BILT is your virtual filing cabinet. You can even upload a receipt for proof of purchase. There's a place to leave a rating, write a review, and give the brands feedback. Thanks again & happy DIYing!
If anything Ikea is on Bilt, this app will break the world, lol. I personally think Ikea is dead-easy stuff to build, but people struggling with their directions has pretty much become a meme, lol. this Bilt app is definitely a game changer. Especially now when handymen, and contractor pricing has gone through the roof. Thank you for this!
@@demontekdigital1704 I could be wrong but my prediction is that the people struggling with the instructions will be struggling with the app as well. Because I believe the controlling factor is one of adequate interest plus applying oneself. Now when the app is paired with the appropriate personal AI robot then I expect we'll see a shift toward large scale on destination assembly.
We need this for SOOO many things. Home improvement, technical DIY, car repair... Basically anything that doesn't require a permit pull by a licensed contractor should have this kind of support. I can hear the skilled trades people screaming, but honestly this kind of thing is only going to interest people willing to do stuff themselves. It would be a hit, but not a hard one
Just seeing this video. You have given me the holy grail with this app. I believe with this app I would have the confidence to do something I’ve never done before. Thank you!
I'm not sure why this was suggested to me, but your video & this app came into my life at the perfect time. My husband is a retired custom home builder, so he rarely looks at instructions... but I'm his helper & I need to see the process. We just ordered a replacement & upgrade from our old Glacier Bay bath faucet. It will be here Tuesday. I just watched the install video on BILT app so now I know what tools to gather & the steps I expect to see. Thank you!!! Now I wish it showed how to put Roller Followers in my 2013 Ford Expedition & hydraulic hoses on the backhoe so I could be better prepared for those upcoming events!!
Bro that app is insane!! Not only video step by step but audio as well and why didn't one of us young dads from the 2000 fin think to do this?? It's these simple ideas that people never think about that blows up every young man should have this app on their phone!
Good luck getting auto companies to sign up for sharing all of their technical data. Unfortunately as vehicles get newer they get more difficult to work on. But I agree. If anyone can get that to happen they will be my hero!
@djsamslade I agree with newer cars like the c8 corvette designed to be hard to mod and tune and alot of Euro cars but there's books that literally has everything imaginable for newer models. Honestly for gas powered cars there's new technology but alot is still the same. I think "problem" is you may have to gather information from scratch because of copyright
In the past I never had any problem with those paper instructions, but at my age now I DO have a problem reading those tiny instructions!! this is awesome
I have a few Facebook groups that I'll be sharing this with. People always asking the same questions to solve the same how-to issues. What a great resource !
That's cool. I like it. It should also illustrate the hardware package and be showing which bolts and nuts from the hardware pack it is using in each step.
The speed in which i downloaded this 😂 insane app to just look through let alone utilize.... definitely a game changer.... thanks Clint another awesome video as usual
Dude, we got a play house for our kids that is 3 stories high with a slide and 3 swings. I had just found that app and THANK GOD I DID. I would have paid money for instructions like this. The hardest part about it is remembering that I have the app to use. It also saves all the jobs you did so you can go back later AMAZING, GREAT FIND
I can take things off of the “Honey-Do” list!! I like to be able to do things “my own self” as the 3yr old me used to say!! 😂😂 Thanks! Your enthusiasm and energy is infectious! My husband and I enjoy watching your vids together, so in a way, you’re helping marriages! 😁
Most husbands have a "honey, do" list. I have a "honey, don't" list because we can't financially support all of the crap I need to do to the house we bought, LOL. Thankfully most of the repairs have been cosmetic. However, they also require trade skills like full blown drywall repair, taping, and finishing. I've quickly learned that it's one thing to repair drywall, but it's a completely different thing to make it look like it was never damaged in the first place, lol.
What's great about this is the 3D view you get, that rotates around and shows you what it should look like from different angles. Those line drawings in so many instruction kits are often unreadable.
This is amazing and so useful! Thank you sharing this app! And I can't believe it's really all free. There's no in-app purchases, no account required, no credit card required. I can't afford to hire people to help me. I have to figure it out myself. I also tend to not follow the instructions from paper until something goes wrong (and it usually does lol) and I have to go back and read through, blah blah blah but this can be a game changer for so many people 😉
About 3 years ago this app left a lot to be desired but about 2 years ago it had gotten much better. I've put together two grills (well a grill and a griddle) and a grill cover/structure with the app - although it takes some getting used to (how to navigate the app) it's much much better than written instructions. The ability to zoom in and rotate was really nass like and kept me from using the wrong hardware in the wrong step - I believe you can even order any missing hardware if you need to.
😂 You know how to think big. If they can give a list of tools for an auto project before I start and realize I don't have something mid teardown, I'll be satisfied.
As craftsman It's easy to underestimate it, at the beggining it seemed stupid but then I thought in more complex mechanisms like engines and automatic transmission and for that is just amazing. I guess there are different levels of complexity for everyone's skills.
sounds great! And about ceiling fans, I have the worst luck. Inevitably there is at least one screw whose threads are crossed, chewed, or non-existent from the factory. It's like the thread fairy hates me.
Thank you, sir Clint! This app is going to change things for a lot of people. One thing to note is it will make purchasing certain things much more accessible for people that may have formerly been afraid to buy things because they don't know how to install them. If this app can be downloaded, and used on a PC too? WOOOOOO! Fire up the laptop, open Bilt, and time to get to work, lol.
Thanks for this! I literally downloaded it while watching your video presentation. It is something I definitely need because as the wife says everything I touch, I break, lol. This will definitely help. I most probably would still screw up, but at least I could resort to the clearly defined videos.
Thank you for the review, I have done a lot of work and have had many a time where clarification would have saved doing something and having to redo a step or tearing down just to get to where the mistake occurred, because of unclear instructions.
Does it really count as DIY when you are only assembling pieces of a purchased item? I always regarded DIY as making the actual product, or at least modifying stuff to improve functionality. This app does look better than even the best of instructions i have seen, and it might be worth looking into if one is doing a lot of these things. The standard instructions that comes with the products are usually good enough for me, but i do remember at least once that i had to search on TH-cam. I often watch such videos while waiting for my order to arrive though, so i have at least some idea of what to do when it arrives.
this look great, IF and only IF it has the thing you want to build, in the way you want to build it on the site. maybe i missed it but i don't recall you saying the name of the product/app in the video at all. i had to check the video description to get that info. that's taking click bait to an annoying level despite the usefulness of the product. thank you for making me aware of this useful tool, i'll check it out.
This is actually awesome and didn’t know about this. I’m about to watch so many videos about shit I don’t have to see how it works 😂 Awesome recommendation, this can help so many in understanding engineering
Thanks Clint! Looks like a good app for my young adults. Hey - maybe this is why I always see Vince throw the instructions or owner's manual away when he opens a new product. He's really using this app. 😜
Great idea! Years ago I heard of a guy who went around to put IKEA furniture together and made his living (?). I hope he has another job now😂! Seriously, that could've only be a side job.
This is certainly a useful app, although the only time I’ve had issues following instructions was for a Chinese generic brand product, however I would love to give props to bilt team for creating this app. But this is not for building anything, this is for assembling prebuilt things. I was hoping to learn how to get from an idea to a prototype to a mass produced product. Is there an app for that?
Great for DIYers.. bad for business to some and most definitely dangerous if you misunderstand or not carefully follow the instructions especially on electrical stuff.

Wow! Thank you for reviewing and sharing this app, and you are right - where has this app been :-)

So technically I can still keep my man card and tell my wife that I never opened the instructions to put it together...... This is genius.
Hahaha
No. Your man card will self-destruct as the app downloads. 😉
If you gotto lie to your wife about this… you never had a man card!
The smart man reads the instructions or manual. Only idiots don't
These are the instructions my wife would use if she ever did any project.
Been using this app around 2 years, it's been awesome!
