    The new Star Wars trilogy is heresy. Mandalorian is the redemption. Cool knife.

    The deadlock still has the same mechanism as other otfs. The lack of blade play is only because there is a cone that wedges the blade down and to the side.

    I have to say. A lot of people do not like otf knives. You have to know it has one spring. That spring has to open and close it. Same pressure both ways. It is much easier to push than to pull down. Glass breaker I've never used but would hope it worked if I came upon a wreck. Break glass cut seatbelt off. I don't know. If you're scared about it in your pocket and someone seeing it move to a red state... Hahaha

  • @joehikes5855

    I think the true use of the so called glass breaker is a blunt force impact option, like using a kubaton. The OTF knives are designed for one hand opening and fighting. There not designed for a utilitarian knife.

    You can bang that into a 2x4 with a wooden hammer , take it out by bending it back and forth , and it will still fire.
    Blade play is essential in any spring assisted knife to protect the internals.
    Trust me, knife designers and manufacturers know more than you..
    However though, there should never be blade play like that ...
    You need to send that back.

    I’ve always thought Microtech commands an oddly severe premium for what they are. No doubt they are well made but the prices have never made sense to me. Now after saying that, one of my most carried knives is a beautiful dark blue utx-85 with black hardware and a black standard single edge blade I got second hand. It’s a love hate thing. I think the price and the proprietary screws are stupid, but I own two of them. 🤔

    • @1998gst4611
      @1998gst4611 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well you have to look at the process, materials and workmanship that these microtech knives go thru they are not your average chinese made knives if inferior cheap parts. They are made in the USA, made and hand built in house in their PA & SC factories and let me say this again they come with a limited lifetime warranty. Proprietary screws are there so you would be do it your selfers don't get into it and void the warranty think about it man.

    • @jagpilotohio
      @jagpilotohio 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@1998gst4611 I find that any warranty on any knife that is voided by “getting into it” to be idiotic and repulsive. Every knife should be owner serviceable. If you’ve ever opened one up you’d see the mechanism is not particularly complicated or easy to harm.

    I’ve always said that about microtech knifes, ridiculously expensive for a knife that’s only designed for or good at stabbing people or being a cool conversation piece. But like you said, to each their own, if someone wants to go spend their hard earned money on a micro tech more power to them. You won’t catch me paying that amount of money for any knife.
