When I first got this game for Christmas back when I was like 8 years old I got so excited, especially because I loved playing the original plants vs zombies.
Good video brother! I actually was one of the people who did not know this game even exists. I thought there is only GW1 and BfN. Also I just saw GW2 is currently on sale so I might as well give it a shot
The first Garden Warfare was my first online multiplayer shooter game. I even remember waking up earlier to play a single round before going to school. Gotta give a chance to the second game
Man the nostalgia that i have for this game is crazy, even if i played this game when i was like 8 lol. I used to play it with my cousin all the time, and we would spend actual hours playing every day that we could. We spent so much time finding out every possible easter egg and the gnomes, the gnomes were easily the most fun we had in the game. We were HYPED when we found out about the gnome cave area (i forgot the name) and the gnomus trials. And the whome hub world (whos name i also forgot) was so much fun to just run around and discovers things. The missions were the best part of the hub world for me, the storylines, new maps, objectives and other stuff.
i still can't understand why are they just don't stop supporting Plants versus Zombies neighborville and come back to Garden Warfare 2 and start updating it again
Honestly if theres any updates I’d wish it would be for the quality of life features that were only added in bfn to make it to gw2 as unrealistic as it sounds. Having a chomper that doesn’t rely on cheap abilities, or a super brainz with a turbo twister ability that’s literally just empty space, the more balanced hyper, the way contested turf points work, the very useful overtime bar. Those are just some but I can’t believe they chose not to put those very useful features in gw2 for instead a game that ended up poofing after a year…
I remember buying it in launch aswell as gw1. And honestly we shouldnt have asked for gw 3 the game was fine but ea heard the fans and made a game that died so fast I havent played in years. Was so close to unlocking torchwood and never got a good legendary such as iron brains or toxuc brains
Too this day I think evolve was ahead of it’s time. That game, in this gaming age would have been one of the biggest free to play games out there, would be as huge as dead by daylight
This game deserved so much better. But it was handled by devs who, while some of them shaped the core aspects we know and love, they were overall out of touch, giving us awful character balancing (yes, this is a casual game, so it doesn't matter that much) and countless inconsistencies. Instead of BFN (I'm okay with that game despite what everyone says), this game could've at least gotten another year or two of support, giving Torchwood and Hover Goat-3000 actual variants and maybe introduce one or two of the BFN classes. I miss this game...yeah, I can easily play it again on my Xbox if I get Xbox Live or whatever they call it nowadays, but I don't feel the motivation to do so - not to mention I've basically 100%'d it, filling out the Scrapbook and getting Max Rank. It's up there with my proudest gaming achievements.
i played it a long time ago then i quit and i started playing again because of nostalgia and i now want to master each and every character before leaving the game again and all their styles too
I am genuinely surprised that it is still going with a dedicated player base. I still remember watching tons of videos of this game years ago and begged my parents to buy me it
I came back to this game recently since I randomly stopped playing at some point. I remember it was one of the first games I got when I got my ps4 in 2017 Having over 500+ hours played and playing it again reminded me how much fun it is. Still being the first and only pvp shooter I genuinely enjoy playing It’s also nice people my age also play and enjoy gw2
Stopped playing cause overwatch is the greatest hero shooter (superior balancing of classes imo). But wow I'm surprised how popular this is, truly is a fun experience and glad the community is thriving
I LOVED the first garden warfare. It was the first game I bought on my Xbox One in high school. I don't remember when I started Garden Warfare 2, but it was a great game that I was just too distracted with other games to play much.
me and my friends all bought it for pc because sometimes we just want to play the game we used to love so much again. The great thing about GW2 is its so timeless and casual and you have lots and lots of fun. Honestly in my opinion one of the greatest games ever
I got the game on release date and played it for 250 hours. A month ago I was thinking about it and decided to reinstall it and see if it was still active, and to my surprise, it was. I'm glad that this amazing game still has an active community even all these years later.
@noahstarves we need to get yourself, other GW2 streamers and the community to plan a call to action and everyone make a small purchase on the same day to show EA/PopCap the engagement we have. Money talks, and perhaps this would get their attention to throw us a bone and give us an update... My thoughts anyway.
I was 10 when the game came out, my parents didnt mind much on 18+ shooters game that I would play but never touched it. I tend to love GW2 alot. Now that i’m 18, I still play on this day playing GW2 after quitting rank games. Yet never bothered about 18+ shooter games due to mass microtransactions and battle passess, absolute steal.
In my oppinion buying the trials of gnomus should force you to play the trials first and then you can get the skins or have it unlock the trials so you only have to the gnome fights
i wish theyd make a new one with the same passion. i only got the chance to play it a few times before its death, garden warfare that is, as growing up i wasnt fortunate enough to just buys games and have a new console soon as it came out. i remember watching videos on it and thinking it looked so fun and by the time i got to it, it was all players who had the game down so id just die and let it go. Its crazy how much potential these "silly" games had.
the variants definitely needed their own section here, separate from replayability. getting to unlock new variants that play differently and leveling them up was part of what added to the game's replay value immensely, with a very long line of them, allowing players to play almost every class with a variant that suits their playstyle. and then bfn came out and ditched them entirely, which just destroyed so much interest in the game. though the grinding went on a bit too long, tbh.
I think it's partly also because pvz battle for neighbourville was an awful game while pvz gw2 was incredible. I loved the fact that you could import all your unlocked skins from gw1
I got Garden warfare 2 recently since I was a fan of it and never had a console back then. I’m glad I bought it cause playing scalleywag imp is really fun even though I die every five seconds
This is a great video, more than half of these reasons are why I have pretty consistently played the game. Another great point is the road to max rank grind keeping people on and on the grind! (like me)
I love this game, but playing on PC is just sad with the number of hackers. If they add good anticheat that would be amazing. Id also really want to see the event rotation changed. It would be so good to see the mystery portal to come more frequently and have a new algorithm with random order of game modes, including old ones such as boss hunt and soil survivors. I would assume these changes would take mininal effort to implement as they arent even new content, and that would just be amazing.
It’s super replayable due to grinding to get characters and rank them up. It’s one of the few games now without sweaty sbmm lobbies which is refreshing
One faithful day I found my cd for Pvz gw 1 in a box and remembered how fun it was (had a complete account as a kid, all characters and almost all cosmetics) so I take my ps3 plug it and loose the account… this made me buy gw2 and it ain’t bad, nostalgia hits just right
GW3 would go so hard… but I loved this game back in like 2017 and it was just really fun. Been playing every once in a while for the last year. Thinking about trying GW1…
In the unlikely event that gw3 (not bfn) does happen, I hope they give us more quests and hidden lore/unlockable characters, gameodes, etc. Something about the trials of gnomus and unlocking torchwood and hovergoat is so engaging despite not even being apart of the multiplayer experience.
I'm a fan of the character designs and just how flipping addicting this game is. There have been plenty of times where i say to myself "one more game," and then bam, its 8am and I need to go to bed lol
There are a lot of reasons. For example, the game has less sweat players, it's chill, there is no battle pass or skins or pay to win stuff and the gameplayis overall extremelyfun . Basically it has everything that makes a game good
I'm glad to see this game is still being talked about up to this day and that somewhow it got revived since not too long ago (a year or more?) it was pretty dead and couldn't find any games. lol
Although for me, this is a game of the past, it has definitely been amongst my favourite games of all time and one that I’ve sunk a lot of hours into. This video makes me want to play it again but I haven’t touched my Xbox in over 4 years and don’t intend in doing so
Even though i stopped playing gw2 after i reached max rank. Still Will be one of my favorite games i played. I honestly wish they still update this game. I hope this game can update one day.
also, it became more accessible to more audiences and users when it was made available in Steam and how other platforms besides TH-cam are also helping it to trend again, the most notable one is TikTok

I remember when gw2 came out - wild that its nearly over a decade old
I remember playing both garden warfare games when they came out didn’t think they were still alive
Garden Warfare got that Team Fortress 2 treatment
Haven’t played this game in about 6 years but man does this video make me wanna go back. This was so fun and enjoyable to grind
It probably looks bad for ea stock investors. They don't care about their games or player base just money
They did shut down support for Neighborville they just didn’t comeback to gw2
They stopped supporting the game 3 yrs ago 💀 the game died really fast and all future content got scrapped
I wouldn't be surprised if GW2 ends up like TF2, a game still thriving years after not being updated.
Nostalgia is the only reason why I’m buying Garden warfare one again
Honestly if theres any updates I’d wish it would be for the quality of life features that were only added in bfn to make it to gw2 as unrealistic as it sounds. Having a chomper that doesn’t rely on cheap abilities, or a super brainz with a turbo twister ability that’s literally just empty space, the more balanced hyper, the way contested turf points work, the very useful overtime bar. Those are just some but I can’t believe they chose not to put those very useful features in gw2 for instead a game that ended up poofing after a year…
I remember buying it in launch aswell as gw1.
And honestly we shouldnt have asked for gw 3 the game was fine but ea heard the fans and made a game that died so fast
I havent played in years.
Was so close to unlocking torchwood and never got a good legendary such as iron brains or toxuc brains
GW2 is what Battlefront 2 should have been.
Battlefront 2 is a great game
@@stormchasin7417 took 2 years to get to that point
@@thatoneantoid51 yea but it’s a great game now, it’s not dice’s fault that EA made them put the game out so early
@@stormchasin7417 GW2 is what BF2 should've been at launch.
Please do not excuse them.
i think its the same reason that tf2 is still alive being that its really replayable and more importantly really good
Too this day I think evolve was ahead of it’s time.
I still remember watching tons of videos of this game years ago and begged my parents to buy me it
so true, I haven't even played multiplayer more than 5 times and I still have played the game almost every week for 6 years
I came back to this game recently since I randomly stopped playing at some point. I remember it was one of the first games I got when I got my ps4 in 2017
Having over 500+ hours played and playing it again reminded me how much fun it is. Still being the first and only pvp shooter I genuinely enjoy playing
It’s also nice people my age also play and enjoy gw2
bro i played pvz1 and pvz2, got everything maxxed in pvz2 but played it last time 2020, and last time with friends 2018😭 that sh*t is so nostalgic
I started playing again on pc yesterday. Even with lag, framedrops and all the bugs, this is SO MUCH MORE FUN than overwatch
Stopped playing cause overwatch is the greatest hero shooter (superior balancing of classes imo). But wow I'm surprised how popular this is, truly is a fun experience and glad the community is thriving
Over watched is good except them delaying stuff
This video has made me want to go play GW2 again, so I guess I'm doing that now.
Keeping the same concept from the first game was nice and the new characters were actually nice to have around
glad to see all the GW veterans here after all this time.
I have mad nostalgia for this game staying up late in 2017 grinding the game and in 2020 doing trails of gnomus watching wolfy playz
It’s nostalgic, it’s for all ages and is one of the best 3rd person shooters ever.
i remember getting my xbox one for christmas and i got first garden warfare with it. Had alot of fun back then
Gw2🤜🏼💥🤛🏼tf2
V
Being outstanding sequels that have stood the test of time due to being so amazingly unique, iconic, and nostalgic
It’s one of those games that is pure nostalgia and ages amazingly well. Can only say that for very few games.
tbh lot of shooter's are really bloody and violet but gw2 it takes the cake
Usually when I go back to nostalgic games, I get bored quite quickly but gw2 just hits different 😝
zesty ahh emoji
Zesty ahh fella
i wish theyd make a new one with the same passion. i only got the chance to play it a few times before its death, garden warfare that is, as growing up i wasnt fortunate enough to just buys games and have a new console soon as it came out. i remember watching videos on it and thinking it looked so fun and by the time i got to it, it was all players who had the game down so id just die and let it go. Its crazy how much potential these "silly" games had.
Longer time to kill in a kids game = less ragequits. probably a significant contributor to its success
Wolfy Playz is one of the bigger TH-camrs still playing the game to this day. He brought me back to the game multiple times.
the variants definitely needed their own section here, separate from replayability. getting to unlock new variants that play differently and leveling them up was part of what added to the game's replay value immensely, with a very long line of them, allowing players to play almost every class with a variant that suits their playstyle. and then bfn came out and ditched them entirely, which just destroyed so much interest in the game.
though the grinding went on a bit too long, tbh.
I think it's partly also because pvz battle for neighbourville was an awful game while pvz gw2 was incredible. I loved the fact that you could import all your unlocked skins from gw1
GW2 is a massive W compared to bfn
popped up in my recommended and im suprised this game is still around lmao. i remember grinding the first one back when it came out
I got Garden warfare 2 recently since I was a fan of it and never had a console back then.
Ages ago I used to live stream this game, I had like 250 hours of streams and thousands of hours on it so I come back to it often.
The games never boring with all the variations of characters and the community isn't toxic af but welcoming and chill
It’s super replayable due to grinding to get characters and rank them up. It’s one of the few games now without sweaty sbmm lobbies which is refreshing
One faithful day I found my cd for Pvz gw 1 in a box and remembered how fun it was (had a complete account as a kid, all characters and almost all cosmetics) so I take my ps3 plug it and loose the account… this made me buy gw2 and it ain’t bad, nostalgia hits just right
I think it's also just a case of people like myself, who played the game so much that we got attached to it, despite it being a very flawed title.
GW3 would go so hard… but I loved this game back in like 2017 and it was just really fun. Been playing every once in a while for the last year. Thinking about trying GW1…
I love this game because of the varients and incredible game-feel
Truly no other game like it
In the unlikely event that gw3 (not bfn) does happen, I hope they give us more quests and hidden lore/unlockable characters, gameodes, etc.
For example, the game has less sweat players, it's chill, there is no battle pass or skins or pay to win stuff and the gameplayis overall extremelyfun
. Basically it has everything that makes a game good
i honestly pray that one day the developers see what much of a master piece they made and come back and update it
Helps that to this day its still the most unique shooter out there. Though rivals seems close.
I'm glad to see this game is still being talked about up to this day and that somewhow it got revived since not too long ago (a year or more?) it was pretty dead and couldn't find any games. lol
i loved this game because of all the character variety every character has something special to them
Although for me, this is a game of the past, it has definitely been amongst my favourite games of all time and one that I’ve sunk a lot of hours into.
This video makes me want to play it again but I haven’t touched my Xbox in over 4 years and don’t intend in doing so
I have some great memories with this title!
Even though i stopped playing gw2 after i reached max rank. Still Will be one of my favorite games i played. I honestly wish they still update this game. I hope this game can update one day.
I bought this game recently, because of all the nostalgia I have about watching people playing it on TH-cam
The reason I still play is because I play the first plants vs zombies game when I was 3 years old and I growed up with the franchise and I love it.
WE HAVE TO MAKE IT POPULAR AND LET EA KNOW WE CARE FOR IT🔥🔥🔥🔥
I still play this game and my sons a lot . I still play it and never gets old
I remember playing Garden warfare in 7th 'till 8th grade with my bestfriend, played it everyday afterclass.
nice to see this game is still around!!! It was a banger in my childhood!
also, it became more accessible to more audiences and users when it was made available in Steam and how other platforms besides TH-cam are also helping it to trend again, the most notable one is TikTok
I always wanted to play this game when it came out but I didn't have a good PC. I completely forgot about the game and now that I have a good pc I will try the game.
This was my favorite game for so long, I haven't played it in at least 4 years now, but I cant believe people still play it, Im going to see if I can find where I owned it to get back into it!
Same reason as TF2, its a fun game with a good community.
