I've got a friend who wants to do some recording. She wants to record this song, with me playing harp for her. I just searched TH-cam to see if anyone else had done it with a harp, and I found this video. I like the choices he made, and thank you for giving me some ideas to work with.
@@mikolajflont2454 Yes, you could play it in 3rd Position on an E harp. It would put you in F# Minor instead of F# Major. But that's okay, because on harmonica, 99 times out of 100, you can play Minor over Major. As for the E being a high harp, and it is, you could get a Low E harmonica and use that.
1.you can play III position major - it just depend of your skills and in low octave major scale in III pos. is one of only 3 major scales possible to play without overbends. 2. in blues and bluesy tunes you can play minor pentatonic (or blues scale) on any instrument not only harmonica while band plays major (dominant) chords 3. many times bluesy tune with major (dominant) chords has vocal melody line on minor pentatonic scale - and this is also true with this tune. 4. you may also play this tune on A harp in IV position, but you better use Equal Temperament harp cause if you use f.e. Seydel 1847 or Marine Band you will have fifth in IV pos. 14 cents flat and this will not sound good. 5. As you see I can lecture you also...😁
Kudos to the harp player, and the band 👍🥃🇨🇦

Nice job. What key harp is that?
The song is in F#. That puts him in 2nd Position on a B harp.
@@doubleh6062 this tune just cries for III position (E harp) and sounds much better in third in my opinion... even on such a high harp.
