I really enjoy watching your videos, Carolyn. You are so enthusiastic about your projects. Your monthly house is gorgeous, as always, and your stitches are so precise, it's a pleasure to see them.
+Febby Marsh Thank you so much! I'm so glad that my enthusiasm is evident - I just love this craft so much and it brings me such happiness to be able to share it with like-minded stitchers. Take care and happy stitching :) x
I'm a big Country Cottage Needleworks fan, too! They stitch up so fast. The January fabric is perfect, nice find. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us! Those silks are stunning, thanks for the hookup on those as well!
+RockinRaven Yay, another big fan.... Her designs are the best! Thank you - I've been very lucky in finding the right material that not only suits the project, but also a style that suits me and my decorating style :) Always happy to share anything I come across that can make others' lives easier ;) Thanks for watching, and happy stitching :) x
I want to say thank you for your videos. I am new to floss tube and am quickly developing favorites and you certainly are one of them. I have been binge watching and love your gentle manner and talent. My grandmother taught me that anything worth doing is worth doing well. As I do , she would have loved your perfectionism. I look forward to your next video.
+Rosemary Sayers Awww thank you so much Rosemary! There are some amazing FlossTubers out there - I wish I had the time to watch them all. I think I would have got along well with your grandmother :) Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. Happy stitching :) x
Another lovely video, Carolyn! You're right, when it comes to wanting stitchy time, it's best to put yourself in a place where there are no distractions! I'm definitely going to have to try doing that for at least a few hours a day!
+Thread Garden Thank you so much Jan! I love the boxes too, and really happy that I have the perfect cabinet to showcase them on. Take care and happy stitching :) x
If you find the best way to watch everyone's videos too, can you let us all know? Thank you for the layout of your day and how to focus on your stitching to get more accomplished! Happy to see another video. Have a lovely day!
+Painting with Thread - Shana Haha, well I've still made no progress on watching videos since I last mentioned it.... so don't hold your breath on that one lol. I have a tonne of them in my watch later folder, and goodness knows how many in the subscription folder... I'm too scared to look! I felt I needed to explain why I'm not on IG or FB as much these days.... I don't want anyone to think badly of me... I'm just stitching away into the wee hours of the morning :) Take care and happy stitching :) x
+EclecticSB Awww thank you so very much. I read a quote the other day that I love.... "Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day"..... :) x
Enjoying all your videos Carolyn. I'd actually love to see a video on your projects-to-do stash...I bet its huge! Thanks for sharing your journey...truly inspirational. :)
+Pauline Moore Haha, do you really want me to show that? That will be a never-ending video lol! I have lists on my phone for all the projects I want to do, just from my magazine collection alone, and that is rediculously long..... I know I'll never get around to doing them all. I will be doing a craft room video very soon, and in that I will show my box where I keep a narrowed down version of my planned stitching projects.... Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! Happy stitching :) x
Carolyn,I am a new subscriber to your videos. I have just recently discovered floss tube and have been binge watching. I have to say they are very enjoyable for the most part, but yours are extraordinary. I thoroughly love your videos and tutorials. Your manner and delivery are wonderful. I enjoy the fact that you are so detail oriented and your perfectionism is something I truly admire. I am a perfectionist also and it is so nice to share that trait with someone whose interests and tastes are very similar to my own. I will be anxiously awaiting each video you produce. Thank you for being an inspiration.
+Rosemary Sayers Awww Rosemary, that is such a beautiful thing to say... Thank you so much!! I'm lost for words at the moment haha. I'm so glad you enjoy the videos - it makes it all the more worthwhile to hear that. Take care and happy stitching :) x
Fab video, I put my phone in a different room and stitch for 4 to 5 hours each evening too! It's surprising how much more gets done with no distractions! Found your rotation and journal very inspiring I might change my rotation to fit more wips in. Thanks for making such great videos!
+Mummula Stitches See I knew I wasn't alone lol! Phones, computers and other modern day inventions are all time distractions and take away from what we really want to be doing. Even sitting here replying to messages that were left a month ago now (so sorry!) will take much more than the 1 hour I have allocated haha! I love rotations and my only regret is not discovering it years ago... certainly stops the boredom setting in with projects. Rotations are not for everyone though, so I will understand if you try it and don't like it. Because I want to stitch everything at once, it works for me. Thank you so much for watching, and happy stitching :) x
ooh ooh...It was me that asked about the parking on the Rose of Providence! I feel famous! Love the video Carolyn! I have to say that I learned the lesson recently of just stitching on one project at a time. I am trying to get some gifts done and have found I frowned a little to keep picking up the same project each night. I love you organization and maybe, just maybe, you will rub off enough on me to get me to organize myself and get on a rotation. I want to, but getting started and keeping it going will be the test for me. I bet after awhile it becomes second nature. I love the Victorian Sampler village too!! There is just so much that I see I want to do and not enough money and time to do it ALL! When you stitch it and show me, it feels almost like I am stitching it too!! Thanks for all your wonderful videos!!
+Judy Richardson Haha I thought it was, but I didn't write your name down beforehand and I didn't want to get it wrong lol. My advice for the rotation, is to start adding them in slowly. Maybe just add 1 extra project and see how it feels to stitch both, sharing the time between them... then if you're comfortable with that you can add more in. I can honestly tell you that I would never have stitched as much as I have this past year, if it wasn't for the rotation. And more importantly it keeps the excitement there for me... it's so easy for me to get bored with projects, but a week goes by so quickly and before I know it, I'm putting it away and pulling out another one. Rotations aren't for everyone though, I must admit.... so as I said, go slowly and see how it feels. Oh yes, that's the stitchers curse..... too much to stitch, not enough time (or money!).... I feel your pain! I'm so glad you enjoy the videos, and I appreciate your very kind comments. Take care and happy stitching :) x
Thank you for the advice! I want to stitch so much and trying to get it all in and not feel guilty for working on them equally is an issue for me. I am hoping to try a rotation and make it stick. Wish me luck!!
+TheBrneyedgirl328 Thank you so much! I was really hoping to get that video done in February, but here we are in March already and it's still not done!!! Life just keeps getting in the way of my plans :( I will do my best to get it done this month :) Take care and happy stitching :) x
Another lovely video. Your wips are beautiful. Thanks for sharing your journal and rotation method. I have just begun keeping a similar journal and it's nice to see the way you do yours. I have just put my first piece on my new Millennium frame and will be starting tomorrow. Very excited. You certainly enabled me to get the frame. It took 7 months but it was worth it. I look forward to seeing your progress over the month on Instagram. Cheers 😊
+Cheryl TheWaysideStitcher Hi Cheryl! Thank you so much for the lovely compliments. We all have different ways of doing things, and collectively we can get some great ideas - I'm constantly asked about my journal and rotations. I'm very happy with my rotations (they work really well for me) but the journal is a new thing that is constantly evolving lol! OK, so you've been using the Millennium frame for about 2 weeks now? How is it? I do hope you're loving it. I think the wait is worth it too - so great craftmanship, wouldn't you agree? Oooh so many questions for you.... sorry about that :D Take care and happy stitching :) x
+Carolyn Mazzeo I am absolutely loving my frame! It holds the fabric so tightly and it is so easy to place or remove your work. I plan to order some shorter and the longest rods. I tend to stitch small pieces in hand, so I'll probably continue doing that. 🌹
+Michelle Gunn Awww thank you Michelle - you're so sweet. I love doing them, although I do get frustrated with the editing and uploading process quite often lol. Take care and happy stitching :) x
Carolyn, I was so happy to see you had put up a new video, I just love to watch you...it feels like having a lovely visit with a friend!!!! I can not wait to see February cottage finished, it is such a sweet design!! Loved to see all your work, really it's such fun to watch your videos, I'm happy you do them, you must put so much work into them, thank you!!!
+Staci Brunson Aww thank you so much Staci - even though I can't see you, I feel the same way. I feel that I have more friends than I've ever had, and we all have the same thing in common lol! Feb Cottage is coming along well, although I've been very unwell for a week, so I need to play catch up now. I do put a lot of work into the videos - it usually takes me the best part of a day to video them (by the time I make notes and organise everything and clean up afterwards!) and then another day to edit them, and a partial third day to upload them (our internet speed is terrible!). But I feel like I'm talking to my friends and I've never been one for writing letters, so videos it is :D Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment - I really do appreciate it. Take care and happy stitching :) x
Was so happy to see another video from you. Thank you for answering my question I messaged you. I have learned so much watching your videos since finding Floss Tube, I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to share with all of us.
Watching your video has encouraged me to try finishing some of my pieces using some of the techniques you've shared. Thank you so much for sharing and caring. Can't wait for next months updates I truly look forward to them
+Santos Rivera Thank you so much! I'm so happy to have found new ways to finish my projects, that are not only fun but are a great alternative to expensive framing. I have more tutorials coming up this year, so hopefully you'll enjoy seeing them too. Thank you for your very kind words. Take care and happy stitching :) x
Beautiful video look at all that lovely stitching. WOW you are amazing. Love the cottages you finish them so nice. Love Country Cottage Needlework projects and have many on my wish list maybe I will get some for my birthday next month. Happy Stitching, hugs Patty BC Canada
+Patty Smith Thanks so much Patty - I can't believe I'm almost finished... just 1 more to go :) I love that they're affordable too, and you also have the option of hand-dyed thread or dmc :) Happy stitching to you too :) x
Carolyn, another lovely video from you. I look forward to seeing each of your updates every month. Your stitching is lovely and your projects upcoming in February look great. Looking forward to following your progress both here and on Instagram. I was so surprised when you mentioned my tutorial on waste knots at the end of your video! Hopefully once you have a chance to watch it you'll find it useful. I've learned so much from you it will be nice to know I returned the favor, LOL. Let me know if it helps. Have a lovely day and lovely stitching month, look forward to seeing your next update.
+Pam Reid Thank you so much Pam! You shouldn't be surprised... your tutorial is great, and everyone should know about it! I did plan on trying it on my Mira this past week, but decided against it because I had too many parked threads on the side and I didn't want to confuse myself. I frantically finished stitching the middle row on Sunday night, so the plan is to start using your method on the new row..... I'm so excited!!! I will definitely let you know how I get on with it :) I think that it's awesome that we can all learn from each other... we may all do the same things, but we each have different ways of doing it, and sometimes we find handy little shortcuts that make our lives easier... I'm always on the lookout for those lol. Take care and happy stitching to you too :) x
Thank you for mentioning Pam's waste knot video. I had just restarted my HAED with 1 over 1 on 25 count Lugana instead of 2 over 1 and was struggling to make good use of waste knots. Now I am enjoying 1 over 1 much more than before.
+Steve M No problem!... always happy to share with other stitchers :) I'm excited to try the technique myself (tonight actually!), so fingers crossed that I like it lol. I think my next HAED will be 1 over 1 on 25ct so I wanted to give the technique a try before committing to it. Take care and happy stitching :) x
I was so happy to see your new update when I logged on tonight. I love your videos - they are terrific! My goal is to make more time for my stitching (and myself) this year...hopefully I'll improve my number of finishes. Thanks for being a "finishing inspiration"! :)
+Kristi Rice Thank you so much Kristi for the great feedback! I'm more than happy to be your inspiration - here's hoping you achieve more finishes this year :) x
+Tina Healey Thanks so much Tina - it's so much more sparkly in person and was exactly what I was looking for :) Hoping to get the craft room video done this month..... fingers crossed :) Take care and happy stitching :) x
Another great video Carolyn. We are about to move house for the second time in twelve months so my stitching has gone on the back burner so to speak. In this new abode I have managed to negotiate a twee room that once the boxes are unpacked will be my stitchy space or my hoarding room ;) I am determined once Winter is on the horizon I shall have resumed the position with needle and thread in hand. Although I have a couple of WIPS which will be the ones I work on when I have the chance. The new lounge room is high with lots of natural light so I think this will be my preferred stitching position. I have promised myself something new once we move in - just to christen the house so to speak. I am looking at Little House Needlèworks for inspiration and a stitchy purchase... Once again I look forward to your videos and if you think your room was messy you should see my house with boxes in all states of half packed etc.. When it gets too much I sit amonst the chaos and put a few stitches in. Enjoy your month and take care x
+a stitch today - the rest tomorrow Thank you so much! Moving is never fun.... I've done it at least 13 times in my life, and I'm not in any hurry to do it again lol! So I commiserate with you. I'm glad you will have a dedicated stitchy space/hoarding room.... either one sounds great to me :) I hope you find the perfect purchase for your new house and that you get plenty of time to stitch up, quick smart. Take care and happy stitching :) x
+RnRjunkie66 Thank you so much for the beautiful compliments Amy. I thoroughly enjoy being part of this online community.... now if I could only find a way to make the video process quicker, I'd be truly happy. Take care and happy stitching :) x
Love this video as usual! The cottages are wrapping up soon! great accomplishment! You made great progress on mini bath time! I need to remove distractions do I can 'be more like Carolyn'! 😆
+Jodi Schell Thanks so much Jodi! I can't believe it's been nearly a year since I started those cute cottages... it will be a little sad to actually finish the series. Haha hope you manage to remove some of those distractions - it's the best way to make the most progress. Take care and happy stitching :) x
Hi "Lady" Carolyn, Once more an awesome video from you. CCN series is nearly complete, wow it doesn't seem a year since you started them - time goes by so quickly. Love your wips as always beautiful. Looking forward to seeing a tutorial on flat folds - something I would like to try. Love the journal for 2016 too. Can't wait to see progress on the Gingerbread 3D. Take care hunLove and hugsAmanda from Kxxxxx
+Amanda Williamson Thank you so much Lady Amanda :D I can't believe it's been nearly a year either - you know what they say about time flying? I'm really looking forward to doing another flatfold - just need to find the right project for it in my stash. The one I did for my sister now lives at her house, so I haven't seen it since Christmas and I miss it.... I need several for my own house now :) Getting very nervous about starting the Gingerbread houses... haven't bought the material yet... I think I'm digressing lol! I need someone to give me a kick up the rear to get over it and stop putting it off. Happy stitching to you dear friend :) x
Bathtime is coming along beautifully. I am planning to spend some quality time with my HAEDs this month. I really like the Olfa Rotary cutters as well.
+Palette PC Thanks so much Bev. Every time I get my rotary cutter out, I have a little smile.... one of the best craft purchases I have made! Best of luck with your HAEDs... I'm at that point in mine where I start thinking about which one I'm going to start next.... too many choices! Take care and happy stitching :) x
Sorry for the late comment! Beautiful stitching, as always. I love how your HAED is coming along, and I love the cottages! You have an awesome rotation and I'm glad it works so well for you! :) Thanks for the lovely video. xxx
Hi Carolyn, As always I just love the work that you do. I think we both are keeping CCN in business. lol I can't pick a favorite because they are all lovely. The HAED is stunning!!
+Traceyna Hill We should start a CCN fan club lol! I can't explain it, but there's just something about those charts that draw me in, every single time! I would like to collect every chart made, but unless they stop making them soon, I'm going to need to take out a bank loan lol. Thank you so much - I'm enjoying seeing her come to life. That face and hair though, are a credit to the designer! Take care and happy stitching :) x
Hi Carolyn, Thanks for another great Video. It is a treat to look forward to while I work, I know I can watch when I get home. Beautiful work as always. And thank you for sharing how you record info & use your Diary. Really useful to see the pics. So will paln to record my info like this too. I was laughing at the day in a life of Carolyn Mazzeo!! But good point with regards to mobile phone and messaging. The monthly planner idea was helpful too. Me & my OCD & organisation!!! Lol. I heard you say you will use 25 count for your future HAEd. I was using 28 count, full cross, 1 thread. Keep swopping backwards & forth with 28 count & 25 count. Not sure which is best. But you are far more experienced with fabric & coverage, if you plan to use 25 count, then you have helped me to make my mind up to stick with 25 count myself. I sort of have both 28 & 25 count been stitched alongside each other as I cant make mind up wihich to stick with. Do you think coverage is good on 25 count?? Teresa said sticthes do fluff up after a wash and space out. Have to say I do love stitching 0n 25 count. x
+Jane Louise Reeves Thank you Jane, you are so sweet! I haven't actually done a HAED on 25 count yet... not even test stitching.... so at this point it is just an idea in my head.... but I've been looking at others' on the same count and they seem really happy with it. I was nervous about parking with 25 count and only using 1 thread, but now I've seen Pam Reid's video on using the away knot (waste knot) method, I'm excited to try it. Teresa is absolutely correct - the stitches do fluff up after the piece is washed and it fills the area much nicer. When I get a little bit closer to finishing my Mini Bathtime, I'll make an effort to get some test stitching done to see how it looks. I'll show it in a video when I've done it too :) Take care and happy stitching :) x
Hi Carolyn, thank you so much for sharing so generously. I love your focus, and you are right, there are so many distractions and the secret is to minimise them. I also love reading and sadly reading and stitching can't happen at the same time and I'm not keen on audio books- yet! I wish it was summer here in the UK where it's freezing tonight literally. I have friends and family in Australia so would love to visit one day. Look forward to seeing your progress this year.
+sara richards Thank you so much Sara! Yes I love reading too, but I'm not ready to sacrifice my stitching to do it - not for awhile anyway. I'm with you on the audio books too.... I prefer reading myself to listening. So for now I'll stick with stitching and watching Netflix. Sorry to hear it's so cold for you, while we're here sweltering away. I hope you do manage to visit one day - it's a great time for you with the Aussie dollar being so poor. Make sure you save heaps though - things are a lot more expensive over here than people realise, but I'm sure your family will tell you that. Take care and happy stitching :) x
Love all your videos! I always look forward to the next one! I appreciate all you do and how well you share😍. Thank you so much! And I can't wait to see how the 3D houses come along!-Such an enabler!😊
+Heather McLean Thank you so much Heather - I appreciate your kind words very much! If I don't hurry up and purchase the material, those 3D houses will never get done... thanks for the reminder ;) Happy stitching :) x
Hi Carolyn love your videos you are the first one I watched on floss tube and I have been inspired to pick up my cross stitching again. . Love all of your projects you are so talented, I promise I will try linen fabric's to stitch on in the future. I always used Aida until I saw your videos.
+Susan Willoughby Hi Susan, and thank you so much!! I'm so happy to have inspired you - that was the aim of doing my videos. It's so easy to put things away and forget about them, but when you watch others doing it, it's natural to want to join in. I would recommend trying a nice evenweave fabric before linen (if you like them) as it's easier to learn the different stitching without getting confused by the slubs in the linen. I wish you the very best of luck. Happy stitching :) x
+Carolyn Mazzeo Hi again, I love working on even weave 28 count. Someone once told me it was hard to work with and it put me off, but now I realize it isn't. Thanks for all your lovely videos, keep them coming.
I just wanted to let you know that I really look forward to your videos. (Not in a stocker sort of way...Lol) Even though I have been stitch for a looong time I have learned a lot watching you. I have recently downloaded the xstitch app that you recommend and I am loving it! And I have gone from a one wip at a time to having a rotation using your 4 week rotation. So far it is working out very well. So thank you for sharing your time with us.
+Jo Gregoire Aww thank you so much Jo, that is so nice of you to say :) I think there is always something new to learn with this wonderful hobby.... I'm still learning something new all the time, and I love it! It's always great to find shortcuts or better ways to store things - it's just finding the time to look for the new ideas that I'm struggling with lately. I hope the rotation works for you - it's not for everyone, I must admit. I can't see myself ever going back to 1 wip at a time now that I'm achieving so much more this way. Thank you for taking the time to comment.... happy stitching :) x
I hope you have seen Pam's video by now. It's a gem! Couldn't have come at a better time for me. I read some horror stories about tent stitch distorting HAEDs, even when done in continental or basketweave. Having just (only) completed my 1st page, I tried switching from 2x1 tent to 1x1 full crosses for a few columns on page 2, using waste knots like Pam showed. The coverage is just the same! Love it, what a find. :) I could even bet that the extra cross in one strand takes just as much/little time as railroading the one cross in double strand. Thanks so much for this awesome video. So sweet of you to share how your stitching evenings pan out. If I wasn't so fond of dancing, I would totally imagine dedicating all my week nights to our wonderful hobby. :)
+Darling Bluebell Yes I have watched Pam's video and love it.... can't wait to try it out. I decided to wait until I finished the page I was working on (completing the full row across) and start the new row fresh with her method, because I had too many parked threads on the side... I didn't need any further confusion lol. So I hope to start trying it out in Week 3's rotation this month :) Yes, sadly my tent stitch has distorted my fabric and the grid lines are quite noticeable, but I'm still hoping to be able to fix them up with some whipstitching on the rear when it's all complete. We'll see how that goes. Dancing sounds like fun... I could do with some of that to lose some weight on my behind, which comes with sitting down for so long lol. Take care and happy stitchin g:) x
+JOXGIRL1 Awww you're very sweet, but I assure you it's not flawless. I haven't ever entered anything in a competition because I'm too scared of the criticism lol! But then again, I am my own worst enemy. Thank you for watching. Happy stitching :) x
Carolyn you enabled me lol. After seeing Lizzie Kate's At Our House I had to purchase it. I am doing it in 16 ct Lambswool aida. It is to be for my daughter for Christmas as she has two little ones. I love your videos, you are such a gracious lady.
+Lynne Kerr Thank you so much Lynne. I'm really looking forward to starting that design next week. Your daughter is a very lucky lady - I'm sure she'll absolutely love it. Take care and happy stitching :) x
Following the 4 week rotation and loving it. Your speed has inspired me. one day I hope to be productive like you. maybe you could come up with an acronym for when we don't need a reply. NRN. no reply necessary. save you time but still get to show our thanks.
+Diane Koski Glad to hear it! I don't see myself ever going back to working on just 1 piece at a time.... I'm finally able to see my stitching wish list being completed, and that makes me very happy :) Haha love the acronym - I love replying, although it's been much harder to keep up this year. Lucky for me, everyone is very patient. Happy stitching :) x
So glad to see an update😊 I love all your cottages! They are so adorable! I'm loving working on my Roses of Provence too. It's so much fun. I like how we have all started in different places and have different progress. I did all the skin and flowers and leaves first. So all I have left is the dress! I love the fabric you chose for her too. I can't wait to see more progress videos on her! Im jealous that it's your spring/summer months. We just had a snow storm here today in Santa Fe. I'm missing the warm weather lol
+Jennifer Apodaca Thank you so much Jennifer! I wasn't aware you were stitching Provence too.... I'm so behind on watching my videos :( I always like to see how others start and plan their stitching too.... shows that we're all different, yet we can still achieve the same outcome :) Hmmm... don't be jealous.... we're in a heatwave at the moment... much too hot for me! But then I do live in one of the hottest states of Australia, so I should be used to it by now. I'll swap you for some cool weather :) Take care and happy stitching :) x
+Kristin Choate Thanks Kristin, I appreciate that. I haven't had time to scroll through IG much lately, so I'm not sure what you're up to, but I'm certain you've been stitching your heart out :) Santa's Village is going to be tough to complete this month around, as I've been spending the evenings with my Mum instead of stitching. Hopefully I can catch up during the course of the month ;) Take care and happy stitching :) x
Hi Carolyn! I'm new to your channel and just finished watch ALL your videos! And I loved every second of them. You have already inspired me SO much!!! I've decided to try a rotation for the first time, stitch the Cottage of the Month series, and try finishing them in cubes. I'm a bit nervous about all of that but much more excited. :o) I look forward to seeing your next video. Thank you so much for sharing your passion with us!
+Knotty Needles Wow! You watched ALL the videos?.... that's dedication! Thank you so much! I'm so happy to have inspired you - especially with the rotations.... stitching that way has completely changed my life! The cottages are so much fun to stitch, and the cubes are really easy once you get the hang of it - and the best thing is you don't need any sewing skills at all :) Thank you so much for watching! Happy stitching :) x
Always love seeing your projects and progress! I'm impressed with how much stitching you do. I tend to go to bed pretty early and my house is always a mess so I have to spend a lot more time cleaning and whatnot :(. It's awesome how much you can do!
+doxamully Thank you so much! Don't worry, my house is the same with 2 teenagers. I don't allow myself to sit down and stitch until everything is done though, otherwise I just can't relax properly. I'm just one of these people that always needs to be doing something... if I don't, I just simply fall asleep way too early lol! Take care and happy stitching :) x
Fantastic video as always Carolyn! I am finally getting to it now and I was so excited to see you come up on my playlist. You really DO make a lot of progress. Santa's House is adorable! And of course, I love January's cottage. I'm a bit biased though as it's my birthday month! My favorite color when I was little was blue, so tiny Brittany would be thrilled her cottage is blue. Love your Summer Sampler too! Those buttons are so cute! Though it makes me thirsty for lemonade. Looking forward to seeing your continued progress! I enjoy seeing them all on instagram, but there is something about a flosstube video and seeing you and them in person that really sometimes makes a project pop. Best of luck! Hope you and yours are well.
Hi, I came across your videos while looking to see about parking. I have now spent the evenings for the last 2 weeks watching all of them. They are wonderful. I have only done smallish patterns up to now but you have inspired me to go a little larger. I already had Joan Elliotts Oriental Odyssey, so I'm going to do one of the ladies/
Well done on so many beauitful finishes, can't wait to watch your progress on the Victorian sampler designs. Thank you for the advice/tips on stitching faster, I'm I one handed stitcher but I'm wanting to get a lap stand soon (still looking at which ones are better) and to try stitching two-handed.
+Sasha Kostenko Thank you so much. I'm very excited to start the Victorian sampler designs, but also very nervous too, as I haven't done anything quite like them before. Two handed stitching does take some practise, but try and stick with it if you can as it will definitely speed things up for you. :) x
Hi there I'm from Melbourne Victoria, I've been embroidering for abt 20 yrs , I've been watching your video these last 2 weeks from the start Hope to join you in a stitch along one day
+Laura Foenander Hi Laura, and welcome to my channel! That sounds great.... I'm doing 4 SALs at the moment, but I'm always on the lookout for something new when they are finished. In case you haven't already noticed, I find it hard to say "No" lol! Take care and happy stitching :) x
Great video. Very nice progress on your HAED. Love love love the summer finish. You could do a wall hanging and change that every season. By far I love the January cube the most, I might change that to February. lol..
+Banan Felimban Actually I think a wall hanging for the seasonal ones is a great idea! Oooh February is super cute.... it's my fave so far :) Take care and happy stitching :) x
+Joyce Robertson Hi Joyce..... the new one is up!.... it's late, but it's up YAY!!! Thank you for your concern, but all is good - just very busy with life in general. Hope you are well also. Happy stitching :) x
I just ordered the same roses. I hope that we can stage along with you. I love the design of the roses as well. I ordered four in the series for my sewing room. I would love to make all of them but then again I would have to rent the apartment next-door! This is my very first so wish me luck!
Love your video as always. I am going to request the cottage patterns for my birthday. Hopefully I will be far enough on my other project to tackle it. Blessings.
All you Aussie girls rule when it comes to stitching and FlossTube videos! You are productive and show real progress (this really is a big plus from a viewer's perspective), you mostly choose patterns that are to my taste ( I don't like the Lizzie Kate stuff at all, don't like letter based patterns, but there's more than enough of the more complicated, image based projects in the mix that I can deal with the occasional LK, lol) and you have such pleasant personalities. Thank you for another winner, I hope you can find the time to continue making videos even though I can well understand that it's time consuming =) I won't be stitching on anything in the near future ( unless I actually find a decent pattern/kit in a real life store here in Finland, which is like searching for a needle in a haystack... sigh) but I still enjoy watching FT videos, that way I can kind of enjoy stitching vicariously, haha.
+Fritha71 Well on behalf of all the Aussie stitchers, I say a HUGE thank you! I might have to organise an Aussie retreat so I can actually meet my fellow patriots :) I'm sorry to hear that you find it hard to get kits and patterns. What sort of thing do you like to stitch?
I always enjoy watching your videos. I love watching your progress on your CCNs, I want to do them myself but I am struggling to find a stockist here in Aus and with how weak our dollar is at the moment, it is unaffordable to buy from the USA - I'll just live vicariously through your CCNs for now lol. ☺
+Bec In Stitches Awww thank you so much Bec! Yes I know exactly what you mean about the exchange rate - I've held off purchasing overseas this year because of it. Best advice I can give you at the moment is to look for a seller in Canada. Our exchange rate with them is great (CAD$20 = AUD$20.38), which is much better than the US at the moment. Just make sure they are selling in Canadian dollars though, as I've found some Canadian dollars sell in US, which is no help at all. I'm sure the Aussie dollar will bounce back eventually - until then, save your pennies ;) Take care and happy stitching :) x
Hi! Hope things are ok with you! Have not seen a new video in a while. I know life can really get n the way. I lost my stitchy bug for a while. I am now needing to get two pieces done by the beginning of October as gifts! Take care! Hope all is well!
Thank you for your videos! I have learned a lot and got inspired. I've been stitching on and off for many years in traditional ways. From your videos I've learned about parking the thread and how to use Good Reader application. By the way, I'm trying to find it in Apple app store and I cannot. Could you please let me know where can I find it? Thank you once again for your videos! Your projects are beautiful!
Hi I love your work it is beautiful. Can you please show on your video your scroll frames and how you use them as you show just the rolled up projects on them, have you got lots of the scrolls and are these interchangeable ? Sorry to be a pain but I love how you rotate your project each week, and I am looking on doing the same but need to know what is the best ones to get. Many thanks for your time.
+Tumness Hi and thankyou! Would you believe my very first video is the unboxing of my Millennium scroll frames? In that video I show exactly what sizes I have and in my 3rd video I show how to assemble them. I also explain the ordering process (in case you also wish to purchase the same frame/bars). Unboxing: th-cam.com/video/U1p-mlMDPwM/w-d-xo.html Assembly: th-cam.com/video/yIJM3NhXNtk/w-d-xo.html The scroll bars and stretcher bars are definitely interchangeable. I have my favourite size stretcher bars that I use for all my projects, and I simply move them from one project to the next. I'm not sure where you live, but the Millennium system I use is not cheap (for an Aussie), but the quality is amazing. And I'm happy knowing I will never have to purchase another set again (unless it's just to get an additional size to add to what I have). Anyway, watch the videos as there is more info on them... and if you have further questions, please let me know and I'll be happy to help if I can. Take care and happy stitching :) x
Your videos are great and motivational.... Especially you have already a schedule every week to do different project. Always look forward to the next video. Anyway, what is a stitch along? Thank you.
+Nany Ang Santoso Thank you very much! I just want to stitch anything and everything lol! So I plan ahead, and it works well for me. A stitch along (SAL) is where you can participate within groups on Facebook. There are various groups that do it, and each has their own rules/restrictions. Basically they will have SALs throughout the year all based around certain themes - Valentine's day, Christmas, animals, certain designers etc etc. If you go into the Info section of the Facebook groups, then select Events, you should find all the SALs that are planned for the year and see if you are interested in joining in. It's great for those of us that don't have any stitching friends that we can stitch with in real life, and the groups are great at keeping you motivated to get your project/s done. Hope that helps :) x
+Tina Deasey Hi Tina, I have shown it in a previous video, but I can't remember which one it was. I will make a note of showing it again, just for you :) x
I would love to know any tricks on how you get DMC white to lay flat on Santa's Village. I have tried going between the 2 threads and that helps somewhat, but I just don't like how my white stitches look - so frustrating! :)
+prholub It's a common problem and one I've struggled with for many years! I have now purchased a laying tool (otherwise known as a trolley needle) from 123stitch.com and it works a treat: www.123stitch.com/item/Yarn-Works-Trolley-Needle-Thread-Controller/YW-NT You simply slip it on a finger of your choice (I use my pinkie) and you make your first stitch as normal, then you fully extend the thread up through the fabric to begin the top stitch... put the needle down through the final hole, but before the thread goes all the way through, you simply lay the pointy end of the trolley needle in between the two stitches, and keep pulling the thread until it now lays flat on top of the trolley needle, then at the last minute you pull the trolley needle out. It takes a little bit longer to do at first, but with practise it gets easier and quicker. There is one warning however - the trolley needle is VERY pointy at the end, and you must take care not to scratch an itchy eye otherwise, you can imagine what would happen!! I hope to do a video soon, when I can get some free time, to show how to do it... as I've had a lot of interest. Until then, I hope this information has helped. Take care and happy stitching :) x
I absolutely love your HAED mini bath time! I have totally been enabled! I have never done a HAED before, do you think that one would be a good choice? Great video & stunning WIPS!
+Stephanie Watson I'm so glad you like her - she's a beauty! All HAEDs are pretty much the same, apart from the ones that have metallics. It's up to you whether you want to do a mini design or the regular size though. I decided on the mini purely because I wanted a smaller project to go in my ensuite bathroom. HAEDs can be very large, depending on the fabric count you choose to stitch them on. Thank you so much for your very kind words. Take care and happy stitching :) x
Love your videos as always . How do you get your fabrics so wrinkle free?. There are no wrinkles or creases. Did you ever frame your autumn celtic lady. Love to see it framed.
+lynda Bazarsky Before stitching, once I've marked the centre point of my material, I always give it a good iron before attaching it to my scroll frame. In most cases, my stitching is done with DMC so it is completely washable once I've finished. I wash the fabric after stitching and then iron it while it's still slightly damp. I always roll my WIPs too, instead of folding them which helps alleviate any creases in the fabric. No, she hasn't been framed it... or washed, in fact. I must get onto that - that's what happens when I put things away in the cupboard!! Take care and happy stitching :) x
Hi Carolyn, thank you for another fantastic video! Please can I ask what company your 32 count opalescent Belfast linen is from? I live in the UK and can't find any fabric that looks as good as yours! Thanks :)
+jillette87 Hi! I buy that fabric from 123stitch.com . They sell it in various pre-cut lengths and I find the price to be very reasonable. I have been unable to locate it anywhere here in Australia either. Take care and happy stitching :) x
I see your videos come on and it makes my day 😍. I can't seem to communicate with you so will try here. I'm the one doing the Oz characters and want some advice. You can see that the photos show a green border around them. I am only doing 8 characters but on one piece of fabric. I have left room around each one to do this border but can't decide how or do it. There are plenty of metallics left,or will be, so I could use them with some DMC or blended thread or what? Any suggestions? BTW tin man is about 80% metallic and I'm working on Glinda and her back stitching is driving me nuts and she is a lot of bling. You'll need lots of PTB.
+Pam Ford Hi Pam, thankfully I found your message.... sorry it took so long. I think I need to take a month off work to catch up on all the messages and get back on track again ;) Hope you've had some luck with the Oz border. Would love to see your progress next time you put pics on FB - if it's no trouble, can you tag me when you do? Take care and happy stitching :) x
I love your updates! Your videos have inspired me...id love to make a floss tube video (maybe even tomorrow if I can manage it!), what video editing program do you use?
+Edesse Lamb Awesome! Please let me know if you do.... although I'm VERY far behind in watching, I promise I'll put it in the watch later folder and get to it eventually lol! I use my iPhone for videoing and iMovie for editing. There are quite a few tutorials on TH-cam as to how to use the program effectively. Best of luck :) x
hi! I have a question and I've been trying to find it on web but cannot, how do you stitch 2 over 1? I'm doing a heaven and earth soon and it says this, please help if you can thanks!☺
+Brenda Romero Hi Brenda! Stitching 2 over 1 is just regular stitching.... 2 strands of thread over 1 thread of fabric. The first number always refers to the amount of strands used, and the second number refers to the threads of fabric. You would use 2 over 1, for stitching on Aida or higher evenweave counts. Stitching 2 over 2 is a little different, however. This means stitching with 2 strands of thread over 2 threads of fabric. I have a video here that might actually help explain it a little better for you : th-cam.com/video/YqdaG0NFJtk/w-d-xo.html The section you need starts at 13:12 in the video. Hope that helps :) x
Awesome video and stitching as usual. I am sorry but as you can tell I am no use about giving advices on keeping up with the videos lol I am steadily around 300 behind 😂😂 but it does not matter as long as we are having fun right?
+OriettaStitch Absolutely Orietta.... let's just agree to have fun and not get bogged down with trying to catch up. That sounds good to me! Happy Stitching lovely lady :) x
+Sandy Anderson Hi Sandy! PTB's (Petite Treasure Braid) availability depends on where you are located and whether you are prepared to pay for shipping costs. Here in Australia I can purchase it for around AU$6.00-$7.00 each + an additional AU$2.00 or so for postage (as none of my local craft or needlework stores actually stock it). Ridiculously expensive considering I have managed to purchase it overseas for CA$2.25 - US$2.75 each + shipping. Even with the exchange rate and shipping costs, it still works out cheaper. I'm sure there are many places you can purchase it, but my 2 favourites are listed below. eBay (Canadian Seller) - stores.ebay.ca/stitchintimefineneedlework (limited stock left, and will not be re-stocking) Nordic Needle - www.nordicneedle.com/ I hope this information helps you :) x
+CourtneyECR Haha, I know... some people think I actually am this weird lady that doesn't need sleep. I assure you, I get around 7 - 7.5 hours of sleep every night. I am a night owl though, and prefer late nights to early mornings ;) Stitching each night generally gives me a good solid sleep (not unlike reading before bed), but on occasions I have restless nights and need a nanna nap in the late afternoon. Take care and happy stitching :) x
+spareclaire Hi there! Parking is a term used when you "park" your threads.... meaning you place your unfinished threads on the front of your project, in the next place where they need to be stitched. It saves time from having to end and restart your threads and is especially useful in full coverage designs (like HAEDs) where there is a lot of ending and restarting threads. Here's a link to a tutorial that I have done that shows exactly how it works: th-cam.com/video/Zdp4-traCo4/w-d-xo.html There is no right or wrong way to park your threads - simply whatever works for you, is the best way. This video just gives you an idea of how I do it. Hope this helps :) x
I've been a subscriber for a few months or more now, but with two kids under three, I haven't been able to watch a single video of yours. They are too long.
+billie_monster I'm so sorry to hear that. I did make shorter videos in the beginning, but the editing and uploading is quite a long process and it became easier for me to just do 1 longer video each month. If you are on Instagram, my WIPs are shown daily, so you can always look there and I have time segments in my videos so you can just go to a particular part that you might be interested in... not sure if that helps at all. :) x
+Евгения А Hello! Thank you for watching and commenting. I had to look up where you are from... Russia! You ladies do a lot of stitching over there. Maybe you will have to visit Sydney one day? Happy stitching :) x
As always, incredible stitching. Like so many others, keep hoping to see you back on here. You're missed. xx
I think I would have got along well with your grandmother :)
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
Happy stitching :) x
I'm agree about putting away all devices while stitching as they describe me all the time!!! Beautiful designs you have and can start anyone!!! 🌷
+Cross Stitch With Luda Thank you so much! Happy stitching :) x
Another lovely video, Carolyn! You're right, when it comes to wanting stitchy time, it's best to put yourself in a place where there are no distractions! I'm definitely going to have to try doing that for at least a few hours a day!
+Brityboo Glad to hear it - it's definitely the only way to make the best progress possible.
Best of luck and happy stitching :) x
Beautiful projects especially the FFO. The yellow in the CCN Summer house is so yummy. I love the stitched boxes so much.
I'm just stitching away into the wee hours of the morning :)
Take care and happy stitching :) x
Another great video- it is nice to listen to such a positive person!
+Judy Richardson Good luck! :) x
Awesome video Carolyn! Your work is always so beautiful. 😊
+Janet Coker Thank you so much Janet :) x
Another great video!! Your craft room doesn't look messy at all. I can't wait to see your tour of it.
+TheBrneyedgirl328 Thank you so much! I was really hoping to get that video done in February, but here we are in March already and it's still not done!!! Life just keeps getting in the way of my plans :( I will do my best to get it done this month :)
Take care and happy stitching :) x
Beautiful stitching, as always!
Oooh so many questions for you.... sorry about that :D
Take care and happy stitching :) x
+Carolyn Mazzeo I am absolutely loving my frame! It holds the fabric so tightly and it is so easy to place or remove your work. I plan to order some shorter and the longest rods. I tend to stitch small pieces in hand, so I'll probably continue doing that. 🌹
Hi Carolyn, awesome video as always. Thanks for sharing!
+Robyn Wallace Thank you so much Robyn!
Happy stitching :) x
Just wanted to say thank you Carolyn for sharing these videos!! such a talent! love seeing all your WIPS and FFO'S :)
+stephanie taylor Thank you so much Stephanie, I'm so glad you enjoy the videos :) x
Thank you for the time you take to make these videos, you're truly inspirational to us all x
But I feel like I'm talking to my friends and I've never been one for writing letters, so videos it is :D
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment - I really do appreciate it.
Take care and happy stitching :) x
Was so happy to see another video from you. Thank you for answering my question I messaged you. I have learned so much watching your videos since finding Floss Tube, I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to share with all of us.
+halfstitch cross stitch Aww you're more than welcome - it's my absolute pleasure :) x
+Patty Smith Thanks so much Patty - I can't believe I'm almost finished... just 1 more to go :) I love that they're affordable too, and you also have the option of hand-dyed thread or dmc :)
Happy stitching to you too :) x
Great video. :-) Everything looks beautiful. Love January cube!
+Chelsea Gelesko Thank you so much Chelsea :) Take care and happy stitching :) x
I will definitely let you know how I get on with it :)
I think that it's awesome that we can all learn from each other... we may all do the same things, but we each have different ways of doing it, and sometimes we find handy little shortcuts that make our lives easier...
Oh, I love the blue on the cube!! So winter-y perfect choice!!! I can't wait to see your new craft room!
+Tina Healey Thanks so much Tina - it's so much more sparkly in person and was exactly what I was looking for :) Hoping to get the craft room video done this month..... fingers crossed :)
Take care and happy stitching :) x
Your work is perfect. Thank you for making these videos for us. You're an absolute inspiration. ~Amy~
I need several for my own house now :)
Getting very nervous about starting the Gingerbread houses... haven't bought the material yet... I think I'm digressing lol! I need someone to give me a kick up the rear to get over it and stop putting it off.
Happy stitching to you dear friend :) x
Great to see you again sweetie love your finish, happy stitching xx
+crossstitchbutton Thank you very much! Happy stitching to you too :) x
:) Thanks for the lovely video. xxx
Hi Carolyn,
As always I just love the work that you do. I think we both are keeping CCN in business. lol
I can't pick a favorite because they are all lovely.
I'll show it in a video when I've done it too :)
Take care and happy stitching :) x
If I don't hurry up and purchase the material, those 3D houses will never get done... thanks for the reminder ;)
Happy stitching :) x
(Not in a stocker sort of way...Lol)
Even though I have been stitch for a looong time I have learned a lot watching you.
Another great video, thanks for sharing!!!
+Christine Cannon Thank you so much :) x
Love CCN too... Happy stitching!
+Helen Robertson YES another fan... yay!! Happy stitching to you too :) x
I love your work. It looks so flawless. Thank you for sharing.
I'm finally able to see my stitching wish list being completed, and that makes me very happy :)
Haha love the acronym - I love replying, although it's been much harder to keep up this year.
I'm so behind on watching my videos :(
I always like to see how others start and plan their stitching too.... shows that we're all different, yet we can still achieve the same outcome :)
Hmmm... don't be jealous.... we're in a heatwave at the moment... much too hot for me! But then I do live in one of the hottest states of Australia, so I should be used to it by now. I'll swap you for some cool weather :)
Take care and happy stitching :) x
I'll definitely tag you when I do the February cottage. I think I'm going to keep going in order so it'll be awhile. ;) I love your Santa's Village!
Hopefully I can catch up during the course of the month ;)
Take care and happy stitching :) x
The cottages are so much fun to stitch, and the cubes are really easy once you get the hang of it - and the best thing is you don't need any sewing skills at all :)
Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you for sharing... woww Beautiful stitching...
great video..your thorough explanation for us that have ADD isfantastic...keep up the great work :)
Great video ! love the up dates .
+A Needlepoint In Time Thanks so much Val :) x
I have now spent the
evenings for the last 2 weeks watching all of them. They are wonderful. I have only done smallish patterns up to now but you have inspired me to go a little larger.
I already had Joan Elliotts Oriental Odyssey, so I'm going to do one of the ladies/
lovely video and projects!
+Kowgirlkate Paints Aplenty Thank you so much, I really appreciate that :) x
you are amazing. so disciplined. wish I was like that. love your work.
Thank you for the help on good reader no reply required good stitching
+Grandsew B My pleasure :) x
Great video, as always. Thanks for posting. I'm going to try putting my phone in another room and see how much I get done!!
+Tracy P Awesome! Great to hear it - it's the best way to get the most done. Best of luck :) x
Hi there I'm from Melbourne Victoria, I've been embroidering for abt 20 yrs , I've been watching your video these last 2 weeks from the start
Hope to join you in a stitch along one day
+Laura Foenander Hi Laura, and welcome to my channel! That sounds great.... I'm doing 4 SALs at the moment, but I'm always on the lookout for something new when they are finished. In case you haven't already noticed, I find it hard to say "No" lol!
Take care and happy stitching :) x
Great video Carolyn
+Stitching Joanne Thank you Joanne. I'm so behind on watching videos... I hope you are well and still stitching away :) x
Tell me about it! 333 in my watch later list at the moment.
Great video. Very nice progress on your HAED. Love love love the summer finish. You could do a wall hanging and change that every season. By far I love the January cube the most, I might change that to February. lol..
+Banan Felimban Actually I think a wall hanging for the seasonal ones is a great idea! Oooh February is super cute.... it's my fave so far :)
Take care and happy stitching :) x
Hi! Carolyn! I have not seen a new video from you since January 2016. No pressure! Just hoping everything is OK. Happy stitching!
Blessings.
+mondot stitches Thank you so much Diane :) You'll love the cottages and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get them too.
Happy stitching :) x
All you Aussie girls rule when it comes to stitching and FlossTube videos! You are productive and show real progress (this really is a big plus from a viewer's perspective), you mostly choose patterns that are to my taste ( I don't like the Lizzie Kate stuff at all, don't like letter based patterns, but there's more than enough of the more complicated, image based projects in the mix that I can deal with the occasional LK, lol) and you have such pleasant personalities. Thank you for another winner, I hope you can find the time to continue making videos even though I can well understand that it's time consuming =)
I won't be stitching on anything in the near future ( unless I actually find a decent pattern/kit in a real life store here in Finland, which is like searching for a needle in a haystack... sigh) but I still enjoy watching FT videos, that way I can kind of enjoy stitching vicariously, haha.
+Fritha71 Well on behalf of all the Aussie stitchers, I say a HUGE thank you! I might have to organise an Aussie retreat so I can actually meet my fellow patriots :)
I'm sorry to hear that you find it hard to get kits and patterns.
I'm sure the Aussie dollar will bounce back eventually - until then, save your pennies ;)
Take care and happy stitching :) x
Another great video :-)
+Lisa Bergin Thank you so much Lisa :) Happy stitching x
I know what parking means now
Thanks for videos
+spareclaire My pleasure! Happy stitching :) x
You are good lovely cross stitch
Hi Carolyn, did you do a video on how you finished your felt ornament, or do you have a finishing video on other pieces? Thank you.
Hi Carolyn are you making any cross stitch videos in 2017? I just love learning from them.
Unboxing: th-cam.com/video/U1p-mlMDPwM/w-d-xo.html
Assembly: th-cam.com/video/yIJM3NhXNtk/w-d-xo.html
The scroll bars and stretcher bars are definitely interchangeable.
Hi Carolyn could you show us your laying tool one day please
+Tina Deasey Hi Tina, I have shown it in a previous video, but I can't remember which one it was. I will make a note of showing it again, just for you :) x
I would love to know any tricks on how you get DMC white to lay flat on Santa's Village. I have tried going between the 2 threads and that helps somewhat, but I just don't like how my white stitches look - so frustrating! :)
+prholub It's a common problem and one I've struggled with for many years! I have now purchased a laying tool (otherwise known as a trolley needle) from 123stitch.com and it works a treat: www.123stitch.com/item/Yarn-Works-Trolley-Needle-Thread-Controller/YW-NT
You simply slip it on a finger of your choice (I use my pinkie) and you make your first stitch as normal, then you fully extend the thread up through the fabric to begin the top stitch... put the needle down through the final hole, but before the thread goes all the way through, you simply lay the pointy end of the trolley needle in between the two stitches, and keep pulling the thread until it now lays flat on top of the trolley needle, then at the last minute you pull the trolley needle out.
Thank you Carolyn! I really appreciate this information! :)
Hello from Ukraine)!
Hello! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hi! I'm considering making videos for cross stitch and embroidery... Do you have any advice? Love your videos, btw
Love the Santa's village. It is lovely! Where do we get the patterns?
Thank you so much for clearing this up for me ! 😀 your the best!
+Brenda Romero My pleasure.... anytime! x
where do buy the scroll frames?
have had them made especially for you?
Awesome video and stitching as usual. I am sorry but as you can tell I am no use about giving advices on keeping up with the videos lol I am steadily around 300 behind 😂😂 but it does not matter as long as we are having fun right?
+OriettaStitch Absolutely Orietta.... let's just agree to have fun and not get bogged down with trying to catch up. That sounds good to me!
Happy Stitching lovely lady :) x
Carolyn....we miss you so much. Be well!:
I have never heard of PTB thread. Where can you get it?
+Sandy Anderson Hi Sandy! PTB's (Petite Treasure Braid) availability depends on where you are located and whether you are prepared to pay for shipping costs. Here in Australia I can purchase it for around AU$6.00-$7.00 each + an additional AU$2.00 or so for postage (as none of my local craft or needlework stores actually stock it). Ridiculously expensive considering I have managed to purchase it overseas for CA$2.25 - US$2.75 each + shipping. Even with the exchange rate and shipping costs, it still works out cheaper. I'm sure there are many places you can purchase it, but my 2 favourites are listed below.
eBay (Canadian Seller) - stores.ebay.ca/stitchintimefineneedlework (limited stock left, and will not be re-stocking)
Nordic Needle - www.nordicneedle.com/
I hope this information helps you :) x
Thanks so much!
Lovely video Carolyn! I stitched the whole time. I was wondering how many hours of sleep you usually get every night? your schedule sounds amazing.
What does 'parking mean'
+spareclaire Hi there! Parking is a term used when you "park" your threads.... meaning you place your unfinished threads on the front of your project, in the next place where they need to be stitched. It saves time from having to end and restart your threads and is especially useful in full coverage designs (like HAEDs) where there is a lot of ending and restarting threads. Here's a link to a tutorial that I have done that shows exactly how it works: th-cam.com/video/Zdp4-traCo4/w-d-xo.html
There is no right or wrong way to park your threads - simply whatever works for you, is the best way. This video just gives you an idea of how I do it.
Hope this helps :) x
I've been a subscriber for a few months or more now, but with two kids under three, I haven't been able to watch a single video of yours. They are too long.
Maybe you could watch it in segments? There is a Watch Later button that will save where you are up to on a video.
