Great video! I needed to hear some of this as an often compare myself to others who can dedicate their entire day to language learning with no distractions, much like MattvsJapan. While with my family and kids I’m lucky to squeeze in 3 hours a day, if that! Can’t wait for the read-a-long/book club. I will definitely join in if it happens to be any of the books I have in my Target Language, such as The Little Prince, The Alchemist or The Old Man and the Sea. Congrats on ur recent achievement!
3 hours a day with kids is HUGEE. Even when Matt talks about that time in his life (at least from his videos on TH-cam) he doesn’t seem to talk pretty fondly about it. Yeah, you can get fluent quickly, but at what cost. It’s okay to go more slowly than peers for the sake of other things that make us happy and give us fulfillment!
