Hampton Downs Full Throttle track day 31 July '22

Fun day in the GTti having a skid in the wed at Hampton Downs... there's never a bad day for testing and this one, albeit a fair bit slower than the norm, was a great day for practicing wet laps driving off the classic racing line to avoid the slippery rubber.
A great way to spend a Morning!

my dad nearly bought a Gtti brand new when i was 10......ended up with a Swift GTi instead......became my first car.....loved the swift but always had a soft spot for these.....both punch above their weights

What engine is in that car and what kind of modifications have you done to it if any?

993cc turbo.. CB80 engine. Nothing crazy done to it just headers and a larger turbo with 1.1bar boost as it was running this day. Running a Link ECU with bigger injectors and pump.. the usual supporting mods for a power increase but internally the engine is totally stock. Gearbox is one of our straight cut gear kits and LSD...
