    Here's a link to that shoulder pain routine I was talking about. It's helped me SO much: th-cam.com/video/5B14UNrfwuM/w-d-xo.html

      This was the first video of yours I saw. Great stuff. It kept me playing for a few months before I ended up needing surgery.

    I always have sunscreen, hat, sweat bands, and a rosin bag. My first aid kit includes bandaids and tape, but also biofreeze, pHuel, and advil.

    I've seen a lot of bag check videos, some just showing what a particular pro payer carries in their bag, some trying to teach what a typical player should carry in their bag. Most are pretty useless, but yours was quite practical and organized. Well done, Mr. Westermann, well done!

    Sunscreen, hats (or whatever sweatbands you use), wet wipes for cleanup before band aids, vibration dampeners, extra outfit including underwear (or two at tournaments), contact solution and extra lenses (backup glasses too), and instant ice packs. I also keep water, an electrolyte, RX bars, and everything else you had...except I use men's shoes.

    I’ve seen several bag checks, and I’ve never seen anyone else so this, but I keep a telescoping broom in my bag. A lot of public courts in atlanta are littered with leaves, and having a broom is super clutch.

    I live in the south and have a talcum ball and just added the Unique Torna Tac Rag - Playing in 100-degree heat causes sweaty hands. These 2 items help keep my racket from spinning.

    Electrical tape. Patch for other people's grips who don't want to regrip. Replaces the end tape on regrip when you lose yours. Tied a light timer up with the same tape to prevent it from moving as it turned off every time anyone touched it (15 minute restart time on old lights). Swiss army knife with pliers (or multi-tool) to rip off a can top that is stuck without cutting yourself. Wristbands for sweat?

    I use the same bag size with almost the same stuff except all the recording equipment when I am playing tournaments.
    The only difference is, that I sometimes have to deal with migrane, so I need to have some painkillers in my bag. I needed them once last year and once this year, but I was very happy to have them in my bag when pain started each time. Additionally, I got some plastic carryout bags for the wet clothes.
    Two other things are my cell phone and my wallet. ;)

    Way to go Mark !! Ian, I have had some serious ankle challenges from my past and like to wear soft shoes as well...I find most tennis shoes like bricks to be honest...but a few I have found including K SWISS AERO KNITs that are superbly light and soft.
    I always keep some tennis gloves (very uncommon and usually unknown by most) in there as well. It helps with sweaty hands and protects the grip/lasts a little longer. Thank you ET and Ian for the video and content.

    Similar to my bag, but in summer always have sweatbands, a cap or two (cause I sweat), sunscreen, and sunglasses.

    I have chronic nasal congestion so I keep a few travel packs of tissues in the bag in addition to most of what you listed in the video. I coached boys high school tennis for 16 years so I also keep a wrench, tape measure, and extra net strap in there too in case of a faulty net.

    Hat, wristbands, headband. Gets sweaty here in NC. Also electrolyte drink mix. Spare vibration dampeners.

    I'm a stringing/string nerd. So, I heard of klipper.
    You forgot to mention a extra pair of underwear or spandex shorts in case you sweat through your undies or shorts. A absorbing wrist band is great to have in your bag. I carry a inexpensive jump rope. I need a sun block, talc, baseball cap or a wide brim hat for sun protection. Extra dampener. Slides or flip flops.

    i have a go pro hero 9 and have been agonizing over which recording tools to buy for it (i have severe decision anxiety)....and whether it would just be better to use swing visoin on my phone rather than the go pro all together lol. could you comment on why you chose those specific recording accessories? And could you tell us your go pro settings for recording (i.e. do you use wide vs. super wide view?). My go pro battery also drains super fast so i'm not sure how much i can record in one session

    Hi Ian, Can you link your shoulder rotator cuff warm-up/exercise? Have that same elastic band (10lbs) in the bag, but I'm starting to have some discomfort while serving/overheads the last couple of weeks.
    Thanks!

    Sorry to ask a stupid question but how would you wash or clean your tennis shoes?

    • @ginawilliams7577
      @ginawilliams7577 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For clay court staining, soak in bucket of cold water. Worked fine on my new white (stained by red clay) shoes. For other surfaces, don't bother cleaning.

    Can you tell me more about the shoes? what brand and kind are those? I always hurt my feets because tennis shoes are so stiff and hard. A LOT of pain under my feet after playing. I eventually got to play with a kind of running shoes because they're really soft and cushioned and that helps me a LOT but I know they're not the best for tennis.

      I spent a lot of time researching what the most "minimal" shoes were that are actually made for tennis. Those are the best ones I found.

    • @katmacrone
      @katmacrone 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ladies shoes may be a bit lighter and flexible and more narrow for a lighter man like him he can probably get away with it, if you are over 170 or 180 may not give you enough support. I run in mens shoes because I like the slightly wider forefront they offer, the womens are just a bit too narrow but the womens wide are too wide (sloppy). Just size down, like I just size one up. You probably want to try on a few pair before going this route however..

    • @JovanniG678
      @JovanniG678 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats really great! I am having a very hard time finding a good pair of shoes for my feet. The shoe either gets to wide and my feet get to hot for two pairs of socks or i burn a hole in them from dragging my right foot when i serve. Im buying shoes i think about every three months or so. Im sure my weight has something to do with it also..

    Here's some things I quite often have.
    1. How about a picture of MEP to motivate or inspire you? :-)
    2. I have a few extra string dampeners...as they occasionally fly off and I lose them with my monster power serve. ;-)
    3. Decent used balls to warm-up with.
    4. Old rackets I don't mind giving away in case young kids show up and are interested in the game but don't have any equipment to play on the next court. I've done that a couple of times and they love it. Hopefully it will inspire them to stick with the game throughout their life. Who knows?
    5. Medical Insurance Card in case I pass out and my opponent has to call an ambulance. :-) (Only half kidding...at 60.)
    For what it's worth.

    I have most of what's already mentioned here but advise everything is in ONE bag only (I use Nike tennis backpack which miraculously fits 3 racquets too!). My tennis partner keeps racquets separate from tennis bag and always forgets them, or forgets to pack knee brace etc etc. Infuriating!

    • @katmacrone
      @katmacrone 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are often lighter and more flexible (Like running shoes) for a lighter man like him it may work, if you are over 180 I'd stay with a mens shoe. I have used men's shoes to run in before because I like the slightly larger width, a womans model will run slightly more narrow. So if I'm a 8.5 Womens I order a 7.5 Mens. I wish everyone would just size European because a 41 is a 41 is a 41....
