He owns 2 of the biggest hiphop labels in Korea AOMG and H1ghr music. He is the first Asian to be signed to Roc Nation. His discography is crazy, over 300 songs under his name. He’s rnb songs are gold. He’s done many feats and collabs with artists all over the world. And he never takes pay for the features he does, humble king.

Korean commercials in Korea are crazy good and Jay has done a number of them, Khiphop mv's do not get nearly as many views as Kpop, it's unfortunately not as popular as Kpop, Jessie and Jay are good friends you should check out another song they have together called Drip, the other rapper was Woo Won Jae, Gray produced the beat and both are signed to AOMG which is one of the labels Jay Park owns along with H1ghr Music, all the artists on The Purge are signed to H1ghr, Jay Park is the founder and former CEO of both labels, he stepped down as CEO of both labels in December of last year, they are the 2 biggest independent Khiphop/R&B labels in Korea, yes he is the first Asian signed to Roc Nation, he will also be launching his own brand of Soju hopefully this month called Won Soju the man owns or is co-owner of a number of businesses, he was born and raised in the Seattle area, checkout his mv for On It which has an old school hiphop vibe and his mv for To Life also checkout Cypher by H1ghr Music

Why do you think that is? That it's not as popular as Kpop?

@@silentnytube Alot of African-Americans in the states deem it as cultural appropriation and just another race taking from us, particularly when the Korean hiphop artists wear braids or durags, which I can understand, while the outward appearance such has clothing is a part of hiphop there are other elements of hiphop and for me the message you are conveying is more important, they need to get up there, spit bars and not do the braids, durags and grills, they could definitely use some education regarding appropriation vs appreciation and for them they feel their showing appreciation but that's not how some African Americans in the states view it. For Korean listeners & Kpopers they view Khiphop as music that is negative a little too in your face and probably a little narcissistic when they flex, Kpop is all sweetness and light, bright colors, highly choreographed dance moves and all positivity, just fun music and in light of the state of the world now that's what people all over want to hear, hiphop can be very negative but it can also be very positive and convey great stories. Kpop also benefits from their large and ravenous fan bases that do 24 hour streaming events, where they stream a newly released song for 24 hours, they would have large streaming numbers anyway but these 24 hour streaming events helped to boost the streaming numbers substantially

@@silentnytube In Korea khiphop is popular af, they just don't spam views like kpop so the views aren't that high, but music charts in korean has lots of khiphop in it
Internationals fans are another thing, most of them just care about looks so that's why most of them just know the very basic labels like AOMG, H1GHR, DPR and that's it

@@vannilakiss3618 by basic I meant the initial labels people know of because they are famous, it wasn't a "basic" in the way that they are basic or lame
Also by saying that all the rest of labels are underground and self oriented shows that you clearly don't know much about khh lol

for the hip hop vibe better check "on it", "worldwide", "finish line" live session in NY, and his dingo killing verse (in killing verse he sings live his most iconic hiphop and r&b songs so you can have a good check up)
and also the raper that was in run it is signed under Jay Park's label AOMG, and The purge are full of rapers that are under his other label H1ghr music, he mostly picked them.
and yes he was/or still (haven't seen that it was confirmed) signed under roc nation
thank you for the reaction, hope to see more of your reactions to Jay Park he is truly a Korean music treasure, just keep in mind that he does a lot of r&b not all of his music is hip-hop.
also he started as a b-boy from Seattle, he knows the culture and always pays respect.

Yeah, Jay Park really is signed by Rock Nation ^^ A reaction to Hyolyn - Layin low- would be awesome! she really is just a vocal, dance and perfomance queen! Her old girl group Sistar is also known as a legend in kpop and the forever summer queens. Layin low is a more sexy R&B vibe, but if you like summer vibes more I would recommend 'say my name' or 'see Sea'
    Thanks for your great reactions!

I'm pretty sure the last music video is a Nike commercial yeah. Not surprised though. There's a series of music videos of Jordan ads and the songs are fucking bangers. The Fearless Ones(The Quiett, Sik-k, Beenzino, Changmo), Fadeaway(Jvcki Wai, Coogie, Paloalto, The Quiett, Bassagong), B.O.T.B(Don Mills, Los, Be'o, Since, Devita, Slom, Changmo, Gaeko)

If you think that's a lot of rappers, you're not ready for 119 Remix or Code Clear lmao. Each got like 40 to 60 rappers on the song. They're like 14 to 18 minutes long. But they dope if you just tryna see the huge difference in styles in the Khiphop scene.
Edit: Thanks for reacting to Khiphop tho, much appreciated, my man. Jay Park isn't my favorite, but he cool. I'd love for you to dig deeper in the Khiphop and Krnb scene in the future tho.

hahaha, it wasn't 9 rappers, it was 7, 1st was jay park in the hook, 2nd was ph1, 3rd was big naughty, 4th was woodie gochild (he can also sing and do various other genres too, the wildcard), after the hook it was jay park's verse, after that it was HAON (hella flows), then trade-L, then sik-k and the final end bit was jay park. all these rappers are signed to h1gher music 1 of the 2 labels that jay park owns.

I was a fan of Jay for a very long time. His song Soju and FSU and pretty much all of them were on repeat for a long time. Don’t get me wrong, he is still talented - but some things he says makes me question his morals and it’s hard to separate with his music. I will still enjoy his songs every once in a while, but if I’m seeking out Korean hip hop I’m going to Ph-1, DPR LIVE, ZICO, Loco, and Epik High.
