Microsoft Word Menu/Toolbar DISAPPEARED! How to get the Menu/Toolbar to SHOW up permanently?

This tutorial applies to Microsoft Word for Office 365/2019.
Unfortunately, some of us click on something we fail to see when we're doing it that removes the MAIN TOOLBAR from Microsoft Word. We call it the main menu or many other things, but frankly with all the searches and the many poor answers out there on the web, we have a difficult time fixing it.
So, we created this quick video on how to revive the toolbar/menu and keep it around for all of us who need it to edit our Word Docs.

And thanks for making it short and sweet - I DON'T like "fix it" videos where they do a 10-minute video that finally shows you the fix in the last minute and a half.

Completely hear ya. Can't remember exactly what I did as well, but it was something similar, if not identical. I tried not to go too long, but obviously, I might have been able to shorten it a little more. With that said, 2-3 minutes isn't a horrible waste of time. I'm trying my best to make them around that long or shorter, if I can. And thanks to you and everyone else who's come by to share their appreciation. I had no idea this many people were troubled by this before I made the video.

There are other versions of this problem. You may also be able to fix your problem like this: Press F10 like he says in the video at 2:02. Then take your cursor to the top right of the screen. Just to the left of the minimize button there is a small box with an arrow that is pointing up. Click that box and select "Show Tabs and Commands". Enjoy.

Thank you Brandon for the video. I hit some random key, while doing grad school work. I went to the top right like you said, but my MS word document was a "down arrow." I clicked it and it gave me the choice "always show ribbon" and my problem solved. Your vid saved me so much time, with my work. Thanks

I'd plowed thru so many sites trying to get my tool bar visible on Word doc. Simple click on the thumbtack and voila. Thank you!

*In other cases you have to find the tiny down arrow on the thin ribbon menu and click on MINIMIZE THE RIBBON check box to get the big menu back*

Thanks. Crazy that Microsoft designed it this way. Why on earth dont they just invert the chevron like they do in Outlook. Click once and menus gone. Click again and they are back. If Microsoft invented a power switch I bet we'd flick it to turn on the fridge .... and then to turn it off there would be a dial in the butter compartment.
