Found this wonderful, raw piece by accident as I’m a Dirty Three/Warren fan. Once again what moves me so much is how honest and real everything about Warren/band is, and i find myself in the same unpolished dilemmas of a life in music, a life at all, in most everything he says. What comes through for me is that life is MEANT to be rough, it’s MEANT to hurt or to be glorious. Not some boxed up, repressed and diminished anaethetised existence of conformity for its own sake. And also same must be said for the frankly staggering live manifestation of Dirty Three. It’s all just so reaching for what is truthful, not commodified. The music takes the time to explore an idea or emotion - it doesn’t ram it down our throats. I can’t be alone in wanting much more music/art/culture to be this way. It gives me hope and makes me feel part of something better. Thanks for posting the video 👍🏾
