God, this video made me nostalgic and very happy! I am of the Gen X generation who witnessed the magnificent 80s as a teen. What a time to have been alive!
In 1984, we would head over to the mall video arcade on Friday nights. We always got excited when this song came on the radio. It always seemed to bring us good luck with our scores! Ahhhhhhh the simpler times. Miss them so much!
We didn’t know it then, but living in the 80s was a huge privilege. Almost all the time we knew incredible songs like this, and it seemed normal for us, but now we know that it was the era of the birth of eternal classics.
Yes and no. There are great songs in every generation. We had a surge of them in the 80's and 90's and then something kind of died once we got rap/hip-hop. One of the reason why Taylor Swift rules right now is that she's one of the few that is known and is no in that genre. The internet and the studios have found a formula for what sells and until the loop gets broken that's what we are going to be stuck hearing.
when good music is playing, it brings every color, creed and religion together and we all forget about why we can't get along for a brief moment. Hands up for the musicians who made and are still making good music.
This song brings me back to being a teenager in the 80’s. I can smell the interior of the burgundy corvette I was in when I first heard this song played on cassette. Thinking how lucky I was to be experiencing such a wide variety of sonic gems in that decade. What an amazing time etched in the history of the world.
i don't know why, but it made me cry(always makes me cry), maybe it's the pandemic, lockdown, hopelessness, despair or is it the fact that we'll never be anle to see each other without a face mask with the confidence that we used to feel before "wuhan'dora's box". Damn, those dances really fit this song, I hope I join you any time soon after this struggle against human destruction comes clear. wow the sun has just come up, or is it the clouds that let him come out and greet us..?"?
Thanks for the video. I always liked this song. It really wants to make you move. I recognized that many of the scenes were shot in Los Angeles Union Station. A great place with those polished floors to dance on. It was interesting to see the other people’s reactions to the dancers.
Thanks to TH-cam’s algorithms this has appeared on my feed and made my Christmas Eve. Thank you for making this video. It’s pure joy. And it’s such a timeless tune. 😊👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎄🎄🎄🎄
the nightclub dozens of us went to weekly, on the very last night. the owner/dj was too drunk/stoned to carry on said to me "take over for me" this was the very last song i managed to play. what a timeless memory
Absolutely AMAZING!!!! Just discovered this vid. and sent it all around the world to the friends I have taken to Union Station after a wonderful lunch at Phiippe's. From Eastbourne, Sussex, UK

It was better being in your 30’s in the 80’s!
Me too!😊
I was a teenager in the 80s. We had ALL the music. Feel sorry for everyone born after 1990.
Bowtie guy for the win, no question. That guy is clearly doing something right in life and I want in.
I've just turned 57, and this song always reminds me, every time I hear it, how lucky I was to have been a teenager during the 80s.
Here we are everybody , 2024. Keep loving and dancing ❤
I'm here too

The first dude was a great dance hall dancer!
Cruising in a 1975 dodge duster with a row of speakers on the back deck. With my best friend. Those were the days. R.I.P.

Ahhh....high school. No phones, no cameras....just fun with your friends.
No tats, fake lips, fake asses, fake boobs, nose rings!
Just button fly Levi's 501 blues ,jolt cola , funyons, Capri suns, trapper keepers and Zimas!
Probably one of the most iconic songs of the 1980s
An instant feel-good song. Love it.
The dude with the suit and bow tie. 🤙
Y’all getting a Matt Smith vibe?
@@scotsbillhicksYep
What's the show called with the dude with suit and tie?
Said it before and I'll say it again... People are at their best when they are dancing, the purity of movement and spirit of Joy is unmatched!
What a great video concept. I could see this as an ongoing series, constantly updating with new people..
Wang Chung were so ahead of their time, their videos feature cars from 30 years in the future!

I remember this song first time round, it's still cool and get's your feet tapping.
I've spent 40 years thinking the lyric was "We were cool on Christ". Live and learn...
I also thought they were cool on Christ.
I originally thought the sang, 'Dance All Day Long', not "Dance Hall Days Love".
Me too, best version of this song ever. I remember when it came out.
