I used to train with him when I moved to live in the Catskills like 7 years ago, randomly scrolling through TH-cam and see him lol, He had me sleep in the gym my first two weeks there, God bless you my brother, hope you’re doing well
Ah... makes a lot of sense, more wrist compartment because at the end of the day what matters is the wrist being secured and also less knuckle compartment so you land more knuckle thru the glove? Brilliant
A lot of the times people train with gel pads on the knuckles anyway to prevent injury. Why would you want your knuckle to go through the glove in training? The finger loops are insanely important actually. Keeps you from getting boxer's knuckle.
Depends how you hang the bag too. If your hitting the bottom of an 80lb bag with hands wrapped like that you can definitely break something atleast not the wrist
As he explained, he wants more wrap to cover his wrists, which is what wraps were designed for, alot of wrapping nowadyas it just for looks and its more art than protection
When you close your fist, you’ll notice no gaps between your fingers. So placing wrap between fingers means your not closing a true fist. To be honest it’s horses for courses but I typically don’t wrap between fingers, especially for young/amateur fighters and if it’s wrapped right, the fabric on the knuckles shouldn’t slip :) Saying that, some pro fighters will include extra material for protection which may need to be held in place. Whatever works and feels comfortable is my motto but I prefer this method too
