My XPS is 10 years old and as of 2020 it will not receive anymore updates from dell it is a very good condition so can I upgrade my XPS motherboard to receive windows 10 I already exchanges the Hard drive for an SSD the memory is 8 gig
my l502x is kind of dead. when switched on, only fan rotates but no light and doesn't switch on. could be motherboard issue but not sure how to check. could you please help
+Parts-People.Com, Inc. Thanks for your reply. yes fan is spinning. have tried external monitor with no luck. seems like just fan spins and nothing else gets power.
I can't tell you which motherboard you have but you can find the part number under one of the memory sticks. The difference between the 2 motherboard part numbers you gave me is, one has integrated Intel graphics (NXH8C) and the other has Discrete nVidia graphics(714WC).
No. The graphics are built onto the motherboard, in both part numbers, and cannot be removed or replaced. And unfortunately, there are not slots to add additional graphics cards.
+Punk Parminder The display drivers aren't working? The screen isn't displaying? And an external monitor isn't displaying? Give me some more details and I'll see if I can help.

To upgrade to Windows 10 you simply need to purchase it from Microsoft.

+Aditya Jain The fan is spinning? Have you hooked it up to an external monitor to make sure it's no the screen or GPU?

+Aditya Jain That could still be a bad GPU. Unfortunately, the only way I know to test is to swap out motherboards.
what mother board do I use and whats the difference between the NXH8C AND THE 714WC

Parts-People.Com, Inc for these integrated graphics motherboards do they still have the slot to physically put the nVidia chips in?
