UPDATE! It’s been roughly 3 weeks since using the Ultra Violette Queen Screen. And I’ve changed my opinion in the last few days. Out of no where, the smell of rose has become unbearable. I noticed the longer it was open, the more the rose smell was taking over! It’s also started to pull a lot and I’m not sure why! I’ve not changed my moisturiser or routine!

    • @KG9551

I love a rose scent, but not in my sunscreen that I have to apply a ton of... bad decision by that brand!
In other news, I finally grabbed the cosrx dual radiance snail essence and their aloe sunscreen and holy crap, I’m in LOVE. “Radiance” is spot on, I can’t believe how beautiful my skin looks after using it! Thanks for the recommendation, I absolutely love it!
And the cosrx Aloe sunscreen is great too, an acceptable stand in for my late and beloved purito comfy water sunscreen

I love how you brought up the fact that being able to reapply sunscreen is a luxury 👏👏👏. Honestly I'm always worrying about how much i use in a day and how often I'll be in the sun cuz some of the best ones are just so darn expensive for so little product 😪

    • @a.4963

Honestly, reapplication isn't as necessary as people make it out to be. Sunscreen degrades based on hours of UV exposure, not hours of general. So unless you're getting direct UV exposure for 2-3 hours, you can wait a bit

Hey! I’ve had a few comments asking for more affordable options. In the ‘sunscreen bullying’ chapter, I mention these two sunscreens:
Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive Face and Neck Sun Cream SPF50+ : £6.00
    BONDI SANDS
    SPF 50+ SUNSCREEN LOTION: £8
Prices vary depending on where you get them from!
The Hello Sunday sunscreens range from £10 - £20 so what I would consider mid tier but affordable for some!

So when you buy an Australia sunscreen brand you know it's really going to work. We can't get certain international brands here because of this.

Yes! I was waiting for this! Especially after the Korean spf fiasco. 😢 Btw, you should try Kiehl’s Butterstick Lip Treatment SPF 30. I guess because the spf isn’t so high, it doesn’t taste nearly as bad as the Paula’s Choice lip sunscreen (that really, really strong traditional sunscreen taste). Also because it has lemon oil.

Lemon oil? Seems counterproductive in a sun protection product.

Yes! Absolutely, it is a privilege to be able to afford sunscreen. It is unbelievable to me how necessary this type of product is and how overpriced many brands want to sell this type of product for. No wonder why many inexpensive Korean brands became so popular. It’s a shame that we can’t buy those anymore. And it’s a shame that there is a very small amount of affordable good products to choose from. Thank you for not trying to shame people that can’t reapply every 2 hours. I know it is ideal, but definitely impossible for some. It’s a great thing to acknowledge this cause it seems like very few Influencers do.

Hi James, I love this video! I just wanted to share my experience with the Bondi Sands face sunscreen, and as an Australian I appreciate this is formulated for the Australian sun which is known to have super harmful UV rays, but unlike what the packaging says this sunscreen is in fact super greasy and is actually the exact same formulation as the body version of this sunscreen. I was really disappointed because I had also heard really good reviews about it, however this would probably be okay if you have dry skin, definitely not suitable for oily skin sufferers like myself!

Good coverage of a couple of my fave sunscreens here in Australia 🇦🇺 Our testing for sunscreen is maniacal and the most stringent in the world before our TGA allows them to be sold here due to us having the unfortunate role of highest skin cancer rate in the world. Nothing to be laughed at when choosing a sunscreen.

@@darkydoom i tried the QV day cream but it pills and chunks up like nothing else, even when i skip all other products. Invisible Zinc leaves greasy white marks on everything i touch. Cancer Council Sensitive was a bit too thick and greasy, but the Active one is so perfect! Leaves my skin glowy but not sticky or greasy, perfect under makeup, applies like a dream, no white cast... Can't get enough.

@@nyxaelia115 I tried the facial ones and the one with a tint - first one seems to make my eyes burn and then I can't open them. Took a few times for me to realise what was happening. The tint just doesn't seem to settle in the skin and stays moist. Either way, I prefer to just use real makeup of I want coverage. Active is just perfect. And because it's designed for sports we know we can wear it all over our body in 40C and humid or dry weather and it will last until we need to reapply.

"Sunscreen is a luxury" - then I haven't given this any thoughts but now I couldn't agree with you more on this.
One time I was screening through the shelves to update new skincare and a daughter and a mom walked in. The daughter was in her early teenage year and she wanted to buy a sunscreen but once her mom saw the price tag, she directly turned her down and was like 'Why do you need to wear it? This is so expensive and unnecessary" ... with all due respect, the mom's skin seems to not have been treated so kindly but her daughter does still have a chance to prevent that happening to her. I swear I almost walked up to the girl and offered to buy her that sunscreen if the mom didn't drag her out so fast.

I'm using the Queen Screen currently and the finish is so beautiful and incredibly glowy, and I wanted to love it so much, but oh my god it pills sooo badly over every moisturiser I use, the only way I've gotten it to sit still is skipping the moisturiser and putting it straight over my serum. But even then if you rub it in slightly too much it'll start lightly pilling. I think it's just got a lot of silicones in it which makes it easily ball up over the skin. It would be a lovely primer, except my foundation also breaks up over the Queen Screen- although that also happens with my silicone-y moisturiser so maybe my foundation just doesn't like silicones.
But yes, word of warning, if your skincare routine is devoid of silicones and waxes it should work, but it can pill if it interacts with other silicones.

Love that you mention the super affordable ones in the beginning (I really really need to use sunscreen because I am transplanted and eat a lot of medicine that makes me extra sensitive to sun, and I have side effects from former medicine as prone to form warts, exemalike spots and different kinds of skin cancer) but because I have been sick for the longer part of my life, I don’t have the most well payed work now when I am finally able to work.
