I remember hearing “Wish I Knew You” for the first time in 2016. I wanted to hear more of them - a lot more - especially some live tracks, mostly as a challenge to confirm that they weren’t a one-hit wonder. I bought “City of Sound”. Revivalists were all “Challenge Accepted.” Heard “Soulfight” and it stopped me in my tracks. Didn’t think it could get any better. Revivalists were all “Wait.” Then I bought “Men Amongst Mountains”. Heard “It Was a Sin”. And it took me to so many places emotionally that I hadn’t been in years. Revivalists were all “Game. Set. Match. [mic drop]”
We caught them in Lowell Summer Music Series (MA) 2019... forced inside due T-storms into the Lowell HS auditorium. Opening act was great bunch of musicians from Berkeley. The Revivalists brought down the house. Played so well together.
At 74 I ran across this group on Austin City Limits. They really do stir something inside and whomever mentioned a Van Morrison feel, is correct. What a great band.
We need you guys to come out west ,you guys are the greatest thing I've heard in30 years , I've never heard a band with so many number ones ,every song I hear I love , your like food for the soul ,I hear it and it makes me feel incredible good ,you guys will make pharmaceutical companies go out of business instead of a pill revivalists music should be prescribed.
