Bro!! You don’t need the antenna for the hunting you do! You only need it is you are putting it down at least 2’ deep! It’s a security blanket for you lol! Put a target on some fishing line and throw it in the surf you will see! As far as the battery and charging it well it sucks no way around it! But that’s your fault as you know. Lol
I’d rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. The only reason I leave it on is for when the waves come up to my knees or higher. I lost one good signal in knee deep water now I’m scarred for life 🤣

As far as iron discrimination goes, all I can say is that you were too lazy to go in and fine tune your Equinox.
I don't waste my time digging iron targets, because I actually took the time to fine tune my Equinox 800.
Don't diss the Nox.

I love it too! I’m thinking of getting the 8” coil and the 13”. And maybe even picking up the headphones with the puck, then I’d essentially have 2 machines. Was it you who was saying 0.6 was the best software version for the beach? I’m still running 0.6, not sure if I should or even need to update.
Awesome video. Thank you. I'm curious what kind of Camera you use. Whether you run continuous video & just edit out the parts you don't need or whether you use "hindsight" on a GoPro. I picked up a GoPro recently & was shocked at the HORRIBLE battery life & overheating problem. If you're using a GoPro it gives me hope it's doable otherwise just curious what you use because it seems to work well. Thanks Again for the great video.
I just use my iPhone 13 Pro. I film continuously if there’s a lot of targets, but usually just turn it on when I get a signal. I bought a GoPro recently too but I haven’t used it yet. Everyone else I know uses a GoPro or a DJI. I’ll probably only use the GoPro when it’s raining tbh.

Nice hunt. Walmart sells a cheapo head lamp that makes it possible to hunt into the night. Until the longer days come that helps

Well if you go to serious detecting they have the new short black cable in stock so you don’t have that mess wrapped all around your shaft.
I have the black cable too, but it’s a little too short since I have to use the machine with the shaft fully extended. I’m going to order the carbon fiber shaft and run the cable up the middle.
@@MontereyMagnetMan from who! Detect ed is the same length as the stock. Steve’s detector rods may have them longer. And I found that out too late after buying the black cable. Seriously why can’t they just put one out a foot longer than the black one?!?

I picked up a Manticor about 2 months back. I kinda wish I got a D 2
I love the Deus 2! But I’ve been thinking of selling my Equinox 900 and getting a manticore because I still really want to try it out.
@MontereyMagnetMan I can't say I can give advice. But yesterday at stinson beach following a guy along the cut with a 900 with a smaller coil than my stock maticore coil I pulled a 1957 dime.
He had already pulled a barber, year unknown.

@@MontereyMagnetMan - The Manticore's (BIG) VDI numbers turn red for iron, and... there's the 2D graph that shows a target's appx shape. It's more the Deus2's direct Minelab equivalent than the Nox 900. 😃

I get incredibly disoriented when I’m digging and the waves come in past me. I have motion sickness and it sucks BAD. Even watching the vid gets me when that happens. So much fun when you are hitting target after target like that, makes you not want to leave. We have had some gnarly king tides over here where I’m at. Beaches all closed over here right now and I’m bummed. Went to check out the terrain and there are some insane cuts at the beaches i detect. Some dudes didn’t care about beach closure signs and were out detecting anyways. I didn’t want a fine so i didn’t chance it. Can’t wait to get out there and see if i can get some gold !!
