Great work..... going to purchase a new grill/smoker and overwhelmed with the possibilities. I really think the Searwood comes closest to achieving all my wants. Thanks for the review!
I love my Webers. Great engineering and quality. Looks like I can get rid of my gas grill and pellet smoker and and just use this Searwood, saving space on the deck.
@@gosman949 I am having a blast with it! Easing into it, started with simple things like chicken thighs, ribeye, asparagus, everything has turned out great, it’s been fun!! Nervous about trying ribs but I’m going to give it a go this weekend 🤞🏼
As always, a great video. Thorough and fair review. I remember the smoke fire and all the publicity Weber threw at it. Maybe I’m missing it, but they seem to be rolling this one out a little more carefully. Will be curious to hear how your experience is with this over time.
Nice video , I guess I am one of the lucky ones who does not have a problem with the Smokefire EX6 Stealth edition 2nd. Nock on wood. Now I just got the Searwood EX6 also Great grill.
Thanks for the review! How was the smoke flavor? I’ve seen a few videos where people mention they want more smoke flavor from their pellet smoker. I currently only smoke using a Weber Kettle so I don’t think I’d have much to compare it to.
I think if Weber was being 100% truthful they’d say Assembled in the USA. I think a lot of their parts are made overseas, and then are put together in the US. But your point remains valid. They are building them I. The US
quick question, I was thinking of getting the $2500 camp chef apex (propane grill and smoker in one) I didn't have the funds at the time and I'm glad I didn't as it looks like they discontinued it and the reviews on it were pretty poor. I was now looking at other options and came across this grill. The price point is great too! My main questions is: When you have the continuous feed mode on for grilling burgers and such, how much actual smoke is produced? Do you actually tase a smokey flavor to your burgers? I honestly don't want much of a smokey flavor on the high sear/grill mode. Can you still set your smoke level to 1 with a high temp setting? Thanks!
Whenever I use the manual mode for grilling like that, I’ve just set it to 10 and let it be as hot as it can. The smoke level at 10 is not very strong. I would imagine that the lower levels like setting one, you’d get much more smoke.
Be inters resting to see when you cook some more food on it I’m a big Weber fan and was bummed that their smoke fire was grease fire problems, I like the way the smoke fire looked more then this new one but if they fixed the problems I know Weber makes a great product and their customer service is top notch I’ve dealt with them and their awesome.
I have a story about their customer service that is unbelievably great. I’m going to share it in a video eventually. I plan on doing some 2 inch thick steaks in it soon.
I'll wait a couple of years to see if this is a quality grill. In the meantime, I'll keep using my 23 year old stainless steel Weber grill that still works perfectly.
@@daveshouseofbbq yeah, I’m still cooking I’m An executive chef now in Kent. Glad to hear from you! I’ve recently got into bbqing thinking about buying this pellet smoker and just so happen to find your review. Well done! Would you recommend this over a traditional charcoal Weber grill?
To be honest the Weber charcoal kettle is possibly the most versatile cooker out there. You can do everything on it. But it takes practice and know-how. The Searwood, or any pellet smoker for that matter, is great for when you want to cook a lot of food and not have to think about it.
I like Weber but I had heard that the previous generation pellet grill wasn’t very good. Thanks for doing the review. I have a Traeger Ironwwod 850 but I’m looking to buy another grill for our vacation home. I am very happy with my Traeger but I’m thinking this Weber could be even better. Am I correct?

No dealers anywhere near me (south central NC) have one in stock. The Weber support person was NO HELP AT ALL. I simply wanta' see one, touch one....before shelling out $$$$. Oh well. So sorry Waber!
That’s a mistake. I have 3 other webers and they are indestructible. This new pellet grill is awesome so far. Hopefully they learned from there mistakes

Nice review. I just ordered the Searwood 600 to accommodate my Blackstone griddle. Thanks for your assistance.
I was one of the guys that had a very bad experience with the second Gen Weber. I hope this new model does well for them 👍🏻
So far, so good

Here’s a cleaning tip for all Weber SearWood XL 600 owners. I got the Ryobi 5-gallon bucket 18v cordless shop-vac, it makes cleaning a snap!!!
Nice video Dave. Will be interested to see some cooks on this one.
Got some planned for this weekend!
Thing looks AMAZING, thanks for the great review
Love the bertmans mustard! If you know you know!!
Yup. I like it better than stadium mustard.
Great review!! I purchased the 600 model this weekend, ships later this week, I cannot wait!!
and how is it?

In the market for a new pellet smoker and this video was just what I was looking for. Thank you.
It’s been working flawlessly. Just made a brisket this past weekend and it was great.
@daveshouseofbbq awesome.

I think all the issues with the Smokefire took them by surprise, but so far this Searwood works flawlessly
If a choice was necessary, which would you buy? Weber Searwood XL600 Pellet grill or Weber Genesis II 300 series Gas grill?
I guess it depends on what you will use it for. If you just grill, then I’d go Genesis. If you want to smoke/bbq as well as grill I’d go Searwood.
@@daveshouseofbbq Thank you....mostly chops, steak, burgers, brats & chicken. Rotisserie & smoke only a few times a year.

Smoke flavor was good, not super strong, but noticeable. I’ll be curious to try their smoke boost mode and see what I can get out of that.
Nice and thoughtful video Dave! Weber really does a good job for sure. And Made in the USA still too! Traeger can’t say that 😂

Fantastic video! Thank you for all the information. I think I found my next grill.
I’m loving it so far
Good job. You should also do a cook or finish with Searing feature since its in the Name of the product. Few pellet smokers even offer the feature...
Great Video very thorough and informative!
Great Job and nice first cook. That mustard is fantastic.
Love bertmann’s.
How does it do with grilling? I know it can get the sear, but can it also get some smoke in steaks and burgers, for instance?
Have you done any high heat grilling on this....like burgers?
If so, how did it do? How long to get to grilling temps?
Thank you in advance!!
CC
I cooked steaks on it last night. I find just turning the grill up to 600 degrees better than putting it on level 10 of manual mode.
Between the Treagar Silverton XL and this weber Searwood. Are they both similar
To be honest I’ve never used a Traeger Silverton.

How long will it burn on 20 lbs of pellets ? for low and slow cooking
I haven’t run it long enough to run out. But if I had to guess. 8 hours easy. Probably closer to 10.

Only thing I’ve noticed is their pellets are a bit thinner in diameter. They seemed to produce enough smoke.

The new ZGrills are better, but thanks for sharing.
Really? I’ve always heard Z Grills were pieces of junk? That why they offer to replace it every 5 years or whatever. Have they recently gotten better?
I hear the grease doesn't make it to the pot.

I was able to find mine at a local Ace Hardware.
I found it at bbqguys website free shipping
No wheels on other side and no hopper latch really
It has a handle on the opposites side of the wheels. Really easy to move. What would be the purpose of a hopper latch? I’m seriously asking.
Your wife let you buy that? The same guy who bought a used Weber kettle because of wifey? Wow!
Yup. I know, crazy right!!!
