Absolutely love your videos man! I feel like they are more relative reviews for those of us working musicians that can't always afford American made or Custom Shop guitars. You have a great taste in gear. Keep up the good work!
So I go into Guitar Center Rivergate and Spy this Epi SG custom with two switches on it. I decide to buy it and bring it home. Later that evening I go on TH-cam to learn more about the model and lo and behold I click on this video. There's the guitar I just bought. Great Demo and yes the inside wiring looks like a hack job, but it does work.
i adore that SG epiphone, one of the few Epis i have truly fell in love with aside of my Black beauty custom Les paul version of it it was truly from this point moving forward when i fell in love and started to have deeper appreciation for Epiphone guitars aside of other LPs such Jerry cantrell's and Adam jones etc this black custom SG is all the reason you need to love an Epi whoever sold it maybe has ZERO appreciation for truly good Guitars don't lose that Guitar man, looks sick with the mods
Great find Marty. Sounds really good. I just a bought a black Harley and by the time I get it cleaned up I'm over riding it. Black attracts dirt like a magnet.
❤️ the tuxedo model I just picked up a 2012 Epiphone Les Paul Classic Plus so it got a custom alligator tolex HSC lined in pink fur set her up and she's golden now
What a freaking stunning beauty you found! And so cheap! Lucky you! I'm on my quest to find my first SG (Epiphone!) I love the way they sound...and this custom here is a absolutely gorgeous both in looks and in sounds!
Hey Marty, did you know that SG stood for "Solid Guitar "? The SG/Les Paul Custom came out in 1961. It was first called the "SG/Les Paul" and was considered the newly designed Les Paul and came out in 1959. Great find Marty! I believe SG's are totally under rated. They sound great and are light weight and won't break your back playing them.
Purchasing a SG is on the list....always go back and if it has to be Gibson or can be Epiphone. I picked up an Epiphone LP Muse last year and really like the guitar for the price!
Cool mods!, nice find! mines factory stock, I did have to spend some time on the fret ends though, but after that its great, not quite comparable to my Gibson les Paul, but can definitely keep up with my Gibson sg special with p90’s
Hey Marty, Have you ever heard of this company called VEYZ Sustainer System they make custom sustainers and those two switches Got me thinking how cool a neck sustainer would probably look and sound. They are an Indonesian company that make these To order. So I am guessing about a hundred and fifty or so and you can get it with a gold cover for the neck and the pickup Sounds amazing. Just tossed it out there for your consideration brother. Diggin your video’s be well! Cheers!
I think those are the Alnico Classic Pro's, not the Pro Buckers going by the codes on the back. I used to have one of the Epi Classic Pro 2's in Honeyburst, it had a Alnico Classic Pro in the neck and a Probucker 3 in the bridge (plus an onboard boost circuit) - that was a nice pairing. Also came with coil tap/split (three of the pots were push/pull, one for each pickup plus an on/off for the boost) - I think they were aiming for somewhere between the 490's and 57 Classics as an analogue with the Alnico Classic Pro's. I think you're right about the Pro Buckers though - just replaced Pro Buckers in a Epi with Gibson BB 2/3 combo - MUCH prefer the ProBuckers
sweet guitar bro! are you familiar with all the plugs and such on the probucker harnesss? i have a epi classic worn les paul with factory coilsplits...im wanting to have the outer coil activated once split... looked everywhere but not sure which pin/wire to swap around in the plug to get the outer coil to be on instead of the inner coil...
😈🤘🤘😁🤣 The dude was definitely hard up for cash and or drugs to pawn it for $100 or $150. His lose, your gain. You wont be losing any money if you decide to sell it. The guitar looks and sounds fantastic. 👍
Does anyone besides me play clean any more? I like overdrive as much as the next guy, but I play styles like country and jazz where it’s not appropriate all the time. If I’m playing rock, then, I’ll overdrive with the best of ‘em-but I really wanted to hear what the guitar sounded like without being covered up with all that distortion.
Eh Braddah …..you can make the worst piece of crap sound great. Aloha Marty! Eh Brah…. I tink you you wen’ score wit dat one….WHOAH! dat buggah sounds mean!! Nah, nah….it’s you Brah….MOJO fingahs! Yes, you are right its amazing! I'm a Gibson, Epiphone fan! Love the Les Pauls more then any other guitar. Well your Eddie Frankensteiner is actually my dream guitar. Its Eddies so what is there not to like?lol! Another beautiful rocking video! Thank you so much!
Check out firefly guitars Marty . I picked up a tele baritone model and the fret work and quality of the guitar is amazing . Just had to adjust the truss rod as it had a back bow in the neck.

I like the song 'peace of mind' from boston. Nice sound of the guitar, cool video!
Fantastic tone and beautiful playing! This SG really does the "thing"!

Awesome man! It's a nice guitar. I think the splitters really add to the tones. Hope you got a good deal!

Thanks man! I kinda got lucky on this one. She's really clean and no issues. I'd say it's as nice as my 60's tribute residue Gibson SG!
Nice sense of humor, my man!
Nice! I've got 2 Gibson les paul customs! And 1 epiphone tak matsumoto custom. Thanks Marty ps: love the guitar rock!
The rock is the best part of the videos these days! Hahaha. Should be my profile picture. 😂😂😂

Buenas tardes, yo tengo esa guitarra, comprada en Madrid (España), y las pastillas no son las pro bucker, son las classic pro. Un abrazo.
What a score. Sounds great.

That’s actually the alnico pro pickups which i actually like them better than the probuckers.
Great review and great playin' and sound.
Probuckers or Alnico Classic Pro?

Yeh I feel bad people have to pawn stuff. Or just sell stuff cheap. But that's not my issue. I just buy em when I find em lol.
