Dave, you and all the rest of the Titan II crew members deserve the highest recognition and rewards. I worked with solid fuel missiles for 30 years and believe me, there was more than one close call in that time period. I wonder if you felt you were provided the best protection and chance of surviving should the rocket fuel and oxidizer handling equipment inside the silo fail? I believe I can say without hesitation the Titan II was a killer even in the silo on alert. The first generation missiles were liquid fueled and very dangerous to be around. I got to see the interior of an Atlas F silo and control room. The DMCC told us that LOX handling equipment and plumbing had to be super clean. The Titan II silo explosions were avoidable. In the Army, many officers would have been removed from command for allowing such slackness. The Air Force has had a reputation for keeping rogue officers like the one who destroyed a B-52 and killed 3 others in his final stunt show. So glad you survived the Cold War!

Long live the W! Great video, makes me miss my senior crew home site, 532-6. Keep up the good work! Major Mark Clark, USAFR Ret, former senior DMCCC at MCAFB and LRAFB.

Thank you, Dave. Did I miss the episode where you talked about the TWO PERSON ONLY zones? I imagine much of the complex required buddy system.

These videos are fantastic but they are too short! Feels like he has much more to say. What about 10 mins per episode instead?

Especially considering the first 30 secs are taken up by the "intro"

And last 15-20 second out the outro.. 🤦🏼‍♂️
Folks, we all like the detail, let him teach and normal pace, with extended time over these video snippets.

@@johnross6314 Much shorter then they could be a TH-cam "Short", which by the way really suck. Who thought it would be a good idea to force video into Portrait mode? I never watch "Shorts" for that reason alone.

    Question…. Where is Chuck?
Thanks for posting routine videos. Always learn something new. Suggest letting each video go longer and more detailed.

Yea, Chuck is the best. We are traveling in two weeks to California for a road trip. Unfortunately, the titan museum is too far from our route... :(

I think Chuck retired a few years ago. He was one of the guides when I visited in 2018 and he mentioned then he was getting ready to retire.

Dave did you get any awards in your time in the air force?
