You could have cleaned the joints with wire wool you rough sod. Flux is green already won't take long to corrode!!!

Why is there no regulator? Is it inside the unit? Or is it further back on the line.

Poor quality gas work new installation and no test point before isolation valve. No gas tape as required by law.
