Mexico City isn't going to just disappear anytime soon. You're much better off leaving and exploring other parts of Mexico that don't have water issues. Head back to Mexico city before flying to wherever is next. Make sure to try mole, birria tacos, polloa asado, carne asada, menudo, horchata, tinga de pollo, aguas frescas, and chile con carne before leaving.
No es normal el quedarte sin servicio de agua por más de una hora, y también eso es un problema que tienen que reportar al servicio de Airbnb, en un hotel tradicional no pasarán por esa situación.
18:41 The lack of water in your hotel could be due to the fact that some cistern pump motors require a minimum level of water to operate. Perhaps the water level was below the minimum, and although there is water in the cistern, it is not enough to pump. It is sad that there is a shortage of water, largely due to so much construction in recent years. Besides that and other things, it's a wonderful city. Love the tortas!!!
People run to Paris and london for the romance of the thought of those cities but Mexico City will make you feel alive with its sights sounds and tastes. Truly on a league of its own. Deserves all the recognition it’s been getting.
We visited Mexico City in 2018. We were absolutely blown away how much we enjoyed all the diversity of areas to explore and enjoy. Hopefully you get out to Xochimilco and Teotihuacan! Looking forward to this series. I miss CDMX! 💗
Hey Ana and Trevor…Mexico City is beautiful, I’m so excited for you guys and I’m looking forward to seeing Mexico City through your eyes. Enjoy your stay there and please take good care of yourselves. 🙏🏼🍀💕🇩🇴
Beautiful city. I'm been in Mexico .only one time. I went to los Cabos. It was a beautiful little town..but I don't understand why some people like to compare Dr with Mexico it's ridiculous. We're small island. Every country has the own beauty
The water situation is definitely the hotel’s fault… there is a water shortage, but… pretty much every building in the city should have a water tank (cisterna in Spanish) that gets filled when the water city is running and should be sufficient for the whole building The tents in the square is a protest. Not to say there aren’t tent areas for homeless in Mexico City, but is not as easy to see as in some cities in the USA.
Tremendous Capital City! History, art, traditions, gastronomy. Mexico City is just fascinating, too much to explore and discover. The country has the largest number of world heritage sites in the Americas. Five in its Capital. Nice vid!
Another great Sunday morning watching your adventures. It’s like I am with you and now feeling stressed out about the water situation. Lol I am hoping all goes well with that and it gets sorted out soon. Have a wonderful trip!!!!
Taco al pastor is basically another version of Shawarma, when the Lebanese migration hit Mexico they brought Shawarma to us and us “mexicanizamos” (turn a thing from another country to a Mexican version) the Shawarma, we change the lamb beef to pig beef and that end it up in “tacos al pastor”

Can't wait to get to CDMX! It's in the 2025 plan. The no water thing sucks - we went to San Andres island (Colombia) for 5 days and not a single day we had "all 3" water/electricity/wifi. 2.5 days straight we had no water AND no electricity. I took my shampoo/body wash and walked to the beach and bathed in the ocean LOL. Hope it wasn't out for too long for you guys!
The Aztec dancers are not wearing costumes. It’s regalia and what you smelled is called Copal and it’s used to cleanse and purify from the energies that attach to us as we are out and about in the world or what people wish on us.
That big square is called El Zócalo. There are two cathedrals==one old, one new. The Palacio Nacioal is also on the Zócalo. There is another beautiful park, Parque Alameda (poplar grove) nearby.
We just got back from 2wks Mexico vaca. Stayed in the same area Roma la condesa gorgeous very very safe. Very exciting European lots of sidewalk café and restaurants. Had no water issues at all. Will be returning nxt yr. Highly recommended on ur vaca list.
CDMX is my fav big city so far, the vibe, the restaurants, coffee shops, the culture, parks, the people, such a walkable city, we loved it.. Chapultepec park puts Central Park to shame.
Very interesting video. We lost water for a day in Playa Del Carmen last Jan, so rest easy. The Aloft gave us 20000 Marriot points for compensation. We plan on exploring more of mexico this year, probably past tulum and plays in Mexico city and surrounding area. Safe travels!

Those fountains have ducks in it so kinda need to have water, plus it's not very deep. Right now thanks to the rains we are no longer having any water problems, but there are places in Mexico city that don't have a single drop of water and that is the government's fault
What a city! The area you stayed in looked fabulous. Love you exploring somewhere new and doing the local neighbourhoods. Yummy tacos and chorizo sandwich too.
So exciting to see you guys in Mexico City! It always gets a bad rap for being a dangerous place to visit. Your vlog showed us so much that it is a city full of culture and good food. Looking forward to the rest of your series here! 👍

Hi, about the water problem, NO it is not normal, the majority of hotels have their own cistern, enough to operate the hotel without water from the city for at least 3 days. And houses have Tinaco (water deposit on the roof) so no, it isn´t normal not having water in your room, you should ask for a partial refund.
@@DelightfulTravellersthank you for answering! Visiting our son who is also a digital nomad, staying somewhat close to you and that park. Maybe I’ll run into you!!
Having visited Mexico City many times over the years, I have never experienced a water shortage. But climate change is here and this is one of the results. Normally the rains have started in June and continue through the summer. But the rains have been less this year and over pumping of the underground aquifers have created the present crisis.

The museum that is also right by the Square! See if you can get a tour of the bells in the Cathedral.. only 20 people at a time and only certain times of the day! You will be amazed!! so much to do have fun you guys!
Hi there! Glad you liked the city so far and that you discovered tortas - not every visitor does and it is a shame as they are so good. Sorry you had water supply issues: it is true that we are having shortages but it is also true that hotels, buildings and some houses have cisterns to cope with shortages and don’t run out of water. Oh… the tents at the zocalo don’t belong to homeless people: I believe it was a Union encampment as part of a protest as one of the buildings next to Zocalo is the National Palace and the home of the president. Enjoy the city!
Oops, I forgot to tell you to go inside the National Palace...you'll find murals by Diego Rivera (husband of Frida Kahlo) that depict the history of Mexico.
Sadly, Paris has more museums than CDMX but, Mexico City certainly has the most in the Americas and you can never see them all! Don't miss the House museums: they're amazing.
First time I can remember that I've seen Trevor with his hair down and not in a man-bun. Can't believe the prices on your first lunch. $3.50!?! Taco prices are $8.50 in our neck of the woods in Southern Ohio. Not sure how many tacos you get but comes w refried beans n rice.
spanish no so good after so much time in the Dominican Republic. Wow. It is really true . Monolingual native English speakers think that everybody should speak their language
Our Spanish is actually improving a lot. But not good enough to read political signs with uncommon words. But in certain situations we can get along really well. And we in no way expect anyone to speak English (and we certainly didn’t say that). We get asked a lot by people that watch our videos and want to know what it’s like when they go to a new place. Thanks for the lovely comment though 🙄. - Anna
Can't wait to go to cdmx for our honeymoon. We're aware of the water issue and it's devastating so we may alter our plans because of it. "The system that supplies about 25 percent of the water to Mexico City's residents is running dry. Drought, climate change, urbanization, infrastructure issues and other factors are driving down water levels in a group of reservoirs called the Cutzamala system."
