Agreed. Doug is the only guitarist hired by Coverdale who was capable of playing John Sykes' stuff. What I mean by that is the attitude and feel of the songs, not just a technique thing. That's where the likes of Vandenberg, Campbell, Vai, Beach and Hoekstra all fail or failed. They are great players in their own right but never sounded good in Whitesnake. Aldrich is the one exception, he played the hell out of all the songs.

S'wonderful what can be done with banks of amplifiers, plenty of fuzz/distortion, chorus and flangers, not forgetting echo and reverb. All hail the mighty pedal board!

I like low style best feels more comfortable to me it is a Lil more harder to get super far up the neck. But honestly just playing and practice standing up a lot more especially those huge stretchs. But considering i have mine at about Doug's level height or even a Lil lower but I have long fingers and arms more than an average Guy probably feels more natural to me low bc the toggle switch is below my belly button area level for me lol but anyway just if u do wanna play like that low just practice it a lot especially those big huge legato type runs and stretchs and scales
