This game became my favorite game of all time after my first playthrough, at launch, on an Xbox One. Maybe I was lucky, I did experience bugs just not many. I found the gameplay a bit clunky, but fun. What really grabbed me was the story and characters. I was completely immersed in the experience and by the time I finished it I was in awe. Then I tried it again after Edgerunners. Once again it provided one of the best experiences of gaming that I've ever had. This time I went with a different ending and this was the first time in my life that I felt like I had the perfect playthrough. I did the build that suited me the best, I made the best choices for my story, I had the best ending going from a corpo screwed over and obsessed with their rep to a nomad ready to move on from the birdcage that is Night City. It's the first game I've ever 100% and I can't wait to do it all again with 2.0 and Phantom Liberty.

I played it on Xbox one.... regular Xbox one and had few bugs....it was great then and is great now. I think 90 percent of the people never played it, they just jumped on the hate train....lucky I don't listen to others ans I judge things for myself. One of the best games I ever played....now everyone else is getting on board and realizing what I've known for years . That it's a great game. I told everyone that.

As someone who grew up around a lot of violence, I lost two of the people closest to me. Playing Cyberpunk was the first time a piece of media pulled emotions out of me that I had forgotten about 15, 20 years ago. Judy's questline especially hit really hard. The world might be fiction, but it's crafted, written, and paced in such a way that just feels so true to life, it's beyond uncanny - you just get lost in it.

The game was fixed and rocking over a year ago. 2.0 is icing. The music score alone is a masterpiece of emotional ambience realizing that world even fuller than Blade Runner (Blade Runner only had 2 hrs remember and concentrated on the melancholy) Cyberpunk fleshed out the street pop, the heavy thrash, the techno futurist, the bubblegum electro-pop, all the action scores and still had time for down to earth campfire songs ...are you kidding me what did you want for $40.

I’ve watched social media unite the downtrodden and victims of crime and become one of the greatest forces for good I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen it become a sewer of profanity and disrespect and while I wouldn’t take social media away if I had the power to, the biggest reason I WOULD have for destroying it is that nothing has been a better conduit for spreading group-think. I’ve watched hundreds of thousands of people adopt poorly formed opinions in a gigantic wave over and over and it’s sadder to me than any swearing and sadder than death threats over game delays.
It reminds me that there are huge amounts of dim-witted people, herds of them thousands-strong right amongst all the beautiful and strange and wonderful people. A beige stain on humanity. So I like to hear someone speaking passionately and almost poetically about having a different perspective on a game that was surrounded by the moos of herds of easily-led group thinkers that is about a fictional dystopia that was enabled by humanity being made up of herds of easily-led group thinkers.
    Great work👍

Awesome video, this is my favorite game ever after beating it in 2.0 after stopping till 1.6 and started PL, just passed chimera, but I remember at launch feeling it was special, the city, characters, atmosphere, density, colors, contrast, stories all around, living night city is specially unique, its a higher level no other game yet got close, I would like to see aquatic and flying vehicles and a big multiplayer mode but we can't forget its the first game, the Witcher took 3 games to be great, cant wait for whats next for cyberpunk franchise and cdprojekt red new ip

I love the story in cyberpunk. However the moment i fell in love was when i couldnt get a car in the game and had to walk for a little bit, i forgot which district i was in, but as i was walking, i looked at the world around me and the buildings in the game, how dense and massive it was, how there were details everywhere, and at that point i stopped playing the story and spent the whole day just walking around, immersing myself in this extremely underrated world. Its a godsend game.

  • @axelhopfinger533

What Cyberpunk 2077 needed, was a state of polish which allowed the great writing, atmosphere and art direction to really shine and come together as an immersive whole, which doesn't constantly kick the player out of immersion with jank, frustrating bugs and poorly implemented features.
And with 2.0 update, it finally got what it deserved. It now finally feels like a complete, fully realized work of art. Although there' still a bit of jank and bugs apparent here and there.
But everything that really matters for a game like this is finally rock solid. it just works. And the immersive narrative journey is finally smooth, so one can fully focus on the mature experience and impactful impressions.

Completed this game 3 times now and gone back to saves to see all possible endings. With the release of Phantom Liberty and BG3 I have experienced some of the best gaming experiences in my life and I have been playing games since Pong on a Atari in the late 70s! My sense of euphoria for current day gaming is however tempered by that soulless drivel Starfield that I had such high hopes for. None the less, a fantastic year for gaming.

The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are my number-one games. The way I know is because the world feels real. I miss the characters, I feel loss that it has ended and I miss talking to my friends in the game.
I played on PC and never had any of the issues others had so I got to see it all without the problems.
649 hours played and I'm going to go back again to try and play it differently again and lose myself in it again.

Only game I pre-order without regret. Pre-order day one, played on release with minimal to no bugs (but wanted quality of life updates). Finished with multiple play through, endings choices, male/female V... Watched Edgerunners and broke down, played Cyberpunk 2077 again and cried, felt relieved.... Now with Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty 2.0.... With more endings and content.... I am so happy this update came out, more quality of life updates and, I get to play more and can't wait for Project Orion releases.

Im glad I wasnt the only one who appreciated the slower moments. I get that "the real treasure was the friends we made along the way" is a cliche but CDPR has a talent for being subtle with their writing which is rare especially in video game stories, when the credits rolled on my first endingband I recieved those voice mails from my friends I knew then and there what the words "secure your soul" truly meant, it wasnt about being immortal in the world, it was about being immortal in the memories of your friends and family, something Arasaka or any other corp couldnt possibly offer, but really it depends up to the player to know what they truly got out of the game because the game has a lot going on for itself for better or worse. One thing's for sure no other game dev has put in such care and detail into a game like cyberpunk, it reallly goes to show CDPR's love and respect towards making something beautiful and reminding us that video games arent just a product but also a form of Art.

Only a minute in and I'm so glad to see someone else say it. I finished this game with bugs, 8 crashes, and terrible frame rate issues on my Xbox One X but despite all that I absolutely loved the characters and stories and finished it in less than a week. It is pretty amazing to see the huge resurgence and shift of general opinion on this game, but the number of Phantom Liberty reviews stating things like "the game is finally fixed" or "finally looks like the game that was promised" are just such shallow statements and clearly show the person wasn't a fan of the game or hadn't played it much at all.

With PL's new ending, it makes me think how Judy, Pan, River, Ker, etc. all mourned you in a similar way they mourn when they find out you took the "path of least resistance". You "died" in a way, and they had two years to process it. TWO YEARS. Then seeing you again... Damn... For real their responses are very natural. The guys moved on, Kerr with his career, River making bad choices. The girls got the fuck out of NC! Judy has a stable relationship with someone with a normal job, a normal life. Panam is with her family, having a tough life on the road courtesy of fucking corpos like Militech, but they care for each other. V can start all over again. The Fool, brimming with potential. Life continues, 2079

Yeah, I'm really happy that the police system, AI, and other sandbox mechanics have improved a lot and it's nice seeing people enjoy it. Seeing so many gameplay clips right now of people just fighting the police. But you're 100% right, the game was never about fighting the police and police chases like in GTA. It's about engaging with the characters and your choices through side missions and the main story. That's why it's such a shame that so many people didn't give this game a chance because of the previously weak police system, or because they couldn't open 90% of the doors, and other, honestly, mundane reasons. I've played so many universally loved games before. The Witcher 3, RDR2, Ghost of Tsushima, etc and I truly loved them. But like you, only Cyberpunk 2077 really made me reflect on my life and my choices in real life as I sob while watching the end credits. The side missions too that impacted me so greatly like The Hunt and Both Sides Now. There were so many great stories and messages in this game even before update 2.0 so I do feel sad and like it's such a waste whenever people say they dropped the game because there was no police chase, and when they mistakenly believe that the game is all about great visuals. Far from it. The game hits so deep.

All I'll say is that I'm most of the way through 3 playthroughs (2 finished, one over half way through) and have started a 4th playthough just for 2.0 and Phantom Liberty
and 2 things stick out to me
I cried at everyone of Jackie's Offrenda's, and will now doubt cry for the 4th one
The "On your own terms" ending has haunted me in a positive way ever since I discovered it
it truly makes you consider the intrusive thought that I know at least I've had on and off for years now
    and more importantly it's consequences
especially considering the fact that V is more than likely an anomaly in the world of the game, someone with the social web of a bygone era, to not alienate us the players
But look at people like Barry the depressed cop, I think he's a more accurate everyman
It must be baffling to live in a world where medical tech is so advanced, not only can you get replacement organs, but people choose to replace their functionning organs with better chrome
and where the top Paramedic Company litterally has a "Death-Scale" from 1-10 to determine how well they'll be able to bring someone back from braindeath
And yet the average life span must be in the 40s at Most, and even then that's with old-ass Corpo-fucks dragging the numbers up
I think as strange as it might be, I'd probably prefer living in Night City, like starting life over
Because to all intents and purposes, our world is only a few steps away, rather the Megacorp controlling our lives with the initial A is Amazon rather than Arasaka
and there's a certain, I don't know, earnesty in the world of Cyberpunk, the corpos seem less shy about their corruption and control of politics
But at least I'd be able to directly interface with a computer, brain-to-binary, and get zoomy camera eyes that can take pictures from my personnal point of view, and as an Edgerunner, never live two days the same way, whilst still having some habits, like cheap-ass Buck-a-Slice or a nice cool Broseph to wash it down with.
In summary, the world today is so fucked up, that even an explicit dystopia is more escapist and enjoyable than whatever the fuck's going on out here
(ok I just had a realisation but I intended to finish the comment here so bear with me, I'm reminded of the Bears in Trees song about apathy being boring and I think that's the gist of it
People in Cyberpunk are angry, sad, annoyed, anxious, so many different things, but for the most part, they don't seem apathetic, they mostly still have a spark of life in them, whether that manifests through family bonds, reinforced by caravanning through the deserted ex-USA together, a bond forged in the pits of corporate backstabbing, or a humble kid off the Street who's somewhat of an icon where he lives, because not only did he do what he had to to survive, he thrived)
