by the way not sure if you knew or maybe you just like the way first person looks but 3rd person in ship and out of ship is activated by toggling F4 and holding z allows you to look around with the mouse without moving the ship, pressing z locks the ship's mouse controls in place so you can move your pov in the cockpit, holding F4 and using arrow keys allows you to move the cam into a position you like, you can also hold PgUp and PgDn to move on the vertical axis, pressing plus or minus keys will zoom in the shot or zoom out for a higher FOV

This particular city has no "corridors" to walk between the buildings, only the areas where the metro reaches, a legacy of being the first city implemented in-game. However, the newest 2 cities are better designed and can be navigated more in deep, although most of the building interiors are yet to be implemented.

Sadly Starfield will not be like this, it will have many different "areas" explorable but you will never be able to explore freely a planet completely and will not have the possibily of actually taking off and landing on a planet on your own. You will be jumping from one area to another (to other "planets") via a loading screen. It's already extremely dissapointing, from an AAA game in 2023 I would expect something similar at the very least. But of course they can't do that, otherwise it would take them the same time CIG is taking to make the game

Its complicated, ive been pledged since 2016 and followed its development throughout, it gets a lot of shit from people who have no actual insight into it but just regurgitate overly simplified stuff others have said (i.e its a tech demo, not a game etc). But its just a different breed of game than pretty much anything else. That being said, its own community of dedicated players kind of have their own hate love relationship with it. Progress is being made but the pace is painfully slow and most of the time we feel like the focus needs to shift. Theres been a lot of broken promises and people are kind of sick and tired at this point. It truly is an amazing experience and a niche that just hasnt been matched by anything else though, so we're sticking with it and hoping for the best if that makes sense lol. Tl;dr: theres nothing quite like it, but its far from perfect and the community is aware.
This is amazing but without immersive quality story, characters, and gameplay it's just a nice screen saver. Hopefully it'll be much more than that. As we see in Hollywood though, good writing is a rarity.

64 gb of ram did it for me with a i7 and a 3060ti, I average 48 to 62 fps. If the server is bogged down by lots of spawned and left ships and dead bodies then I average around 40 fps. But the more ram the better my friend.

I know this is just alpha but there's a big disparity between the people and everything else. Outdoor environments look groundbreaking. Indoor look great. But the people walking around look stiff and mannaquin-like, and they move about, group and stand around unrealistically. I know this game can't have Baldur's Gate 3 level motion capture on it's scale but considering the work they put into the way everything else looks I hope they bring the actual star citizens up to that level.

If you want something like people wandering around, busy air traffic, you'd be better off going to play cyberpunk or starfield. This doesn't fit with the game's proposal, although I think they will add this in future updates.
No walls like in starfield, i play starfield for days now and the invisible walls make me want to play star citizen again. i like starfield for its adventure and story but for star citizen i can explore freely what eye can see in the whole planet also without loading screens.
You can feel pretty powerful with some small and cheap ship and some good ass flying and a mere 80USD haha. (H.O.S.A.S not included) Joke aside I didnt spend money to feel powerful I mostly want to play squadron while sc is being worked on. The development is a shitshow tho.. thanks Chris

The super hornet, one of the best PvP fighters, is fairly easy to obtain in game currently.
SC is $45 dollars MOST of the millions of people paid $45 dollars and use in game currency to buy their ships - but there are exactly 34 whales who have spent 10K or more on SC

SC mocap is actually very good, but current servers suck enough that the AI doesn't end up using those animations :D

The starfield we all wanted without the minimum $25k you have to spend to actually feel powerful.
You can feel pretty powerful with some small and cheap ship and some good ass flying and a mere 80USD haha. (H.O.S.A.S not included)
Joke aside I didnt spend money to feel powerful I mostly want to play squadron while sc is being worked on.

Anyone who has spent that much either has a ton of disposable cash or a very bitter taste in their mouth (hence the refund sub reddit) now that many of those expensive ships are purchasable in game currently. The super hornet, one of the best PvP fighters, is fairly easy to obtain in game currently.
SC is $45 dollars MOST of the millions of people paid $45 dollars and use in game currency to buy their ships - but there are exactly 34 whales who have spent 10K or more on SC
