Nice work bud. Good job having 2 tie ins, 2 lanyards works.. and I think you would appreciate having 1 lanyard, and 1 type of rope climbing multisender system. Let me know if you want any help. Take your time, and be very deliberate with your cutting. Cheers
Yes this was just to get a start in the tree. I since then have done a few climbs with a rope on a overhead anchor and another running it as a choker. I have a prusik with a pulley for now but a multisender/unisender is on the list indeed.
Great job, Jay. Always clear the path around the bottom of the tree for a means of quick escape, when dropping trees. You’ll be a Professional in no time👍
Perfect timing! My husband and I were just identifying some trees last weekend that only need a few limbs taken off, but they're way too high to reach with a pole saw. I suggested to him that he find a climbing kit or something to get up there. You must have nerves of steel to climb that high!
Hey Jamie! Tread with caution there’s 5x more things than can go haywire when climbing compared to ground tree work. Also when you climb a tree with spurs you basically will kill the tree as you put many holes in it so if your trying to keep your trees but take a few limbs I’d think of a different way then spur climbing like I did! Either way be safe and thanks for watching!
Good job for not knowing what your doing I have Ben climbing trees for lil over ten years the two lanyards that you had was a false since of security you need to get a climbing line that way you can do a spar tie in which will stop you from falling if you slip or cut your lanyard the best cheapest climbing line is 12 strand and your foot will by fine as long as it on the over side of tree I also seen you one hand the saw which is ok if you know when to do it but you don’t so don’t cause you had it to wear if you had a kick back it would fine right in you face don’t do that till you understand when and when not to one hand you get fuck up and try not to run the chainsaw higher then you chest and when you took a top out put a notch in it and not just a snap cut you did do a good job take it slow no cowboy stuff till you’re not a rookie and I like your attitude so if you have and questions hit me up
Hey Jon! Appreciate the feedback brother! I have invested since this video a climb line and have done a few more videos and each time I have better technique and feel way better each time! Thanks brother!

I’ll be hopefully chipping these limbs if I can get out there before snow!

Great job! Homestead Jim is definitely a wise man
Yes this was new for both of us so a second set of eyes on the ground is a good thing. I wouldn’t climb without him there for sure.

@@HomesteadJay Okay, I didn't think of that. I guess we'll have to find a different way. Thanks!
Yes the spurs will kill the tree thus making your issue worse LOL
Fundamentals of General Tree Work by Gerald Beranek is the real bible of tree work.
I have it! Got it with the gear!
@@HomesteadJay Your set then! That book took me up a few notches I swear!

Sorry Jay. Unfortunately I like me feet firmly on the ground.
Don’t cut the rope. Advise from us ground guys.
I think thats great advice lol
