I love that your garden is something we as normal sized gardeners can relate to. And afford. Thanks for sharing.

It's absolutely wonderful. I have a Japanese garden and they are surprisingly easy to maintain. No endless pruning, mowing or dead heading flowers. I would put the biggest mirror I could on the brick wall to reflect back into the garden and maybe render and paint that side a more neutral colour. What an amazing job. It's stunning.

Thank you so much for the comment I am considering taking out the bamboo on the brick wall side and putting some acer bonsais there

I would love to make a small section of my garden into a Japanese garden. I always loved going to Japanese gardens at any botanical garden. I have been to San Francisco’s, Tokyo, St. Louis, Omaha, several in England. That will be my plan next season. I need to find one of those stone pagodas.

You have a nice garden. To amp it up you can change the area where the black rocks are with a ground covered in moss.

Beautiful, the perfect size for a Japanese garden.
How are you keeping your bamboo in check? Have you tanked it? I guess you trim it back?
    What variety is it?
