    Good work. To see the basic bits of wood turned into brickwork and then the brickwork gets set into a realistic scene. Love the odd animal touches too. Bet the fox is going after pigeon eggs.

    Super video. The new scene looks very effective and brickwork turned out great. Thanks for all the info and tips - much appreciated! Looking forward to following the continuing build of the lower scenes.

    Absolutely in love with this layout. Have followed for a while and it’s the best example of LU modelling out there! I was hoping the arches from the headshunt were going to continue to the tunnel mouth but have the last 4 or 5 unbricked so there’s a better view of the diving trains. The retaining walls look good too tho man. Absolutely awesome work!! 🙌🏻🛠️🤩

    Very nice work. Love how it all comes together.
    Having been binge watching Secrets of the London Underground, I'd have been tempted to put a disused station inside that tunnel, as it looked a bit like like a platform there already.
    I agree with you about not butchering that fab station building, and not having a second passenger staircase. But the staff access ladders/metal stairs would look great. Worth googling for OO/HO metal fire escapes I'd say.

    Hi Eric like what you've done with the tunnel and brickwork. I've used these plastic trees in the past and used scatter to tone some down exactly as you have here. My current layout only has small hawthorns so I've used seafoam with scatter and they look much better. I have thought that for larger trees if you didn't want to scratch build with wire etc you could try the following. Strip of all old existing foilage from plastic tree branches. Add small bits of sea foam to the ends of the plastic tree branches with super glue blend them in with filler or bindings. Spray it all a suitable color first then use layering spray and scatter to add the foilage. Should result in quite a decent looking tree if done well with much less work than using wire and plaster of paris or similar.

    • @UndergroundEric
      @UndergroundEric  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers mate. I did used to use seafoam trees, the trouble is they are just so brittle thats the only reason i stopped and went for more off the shelf stuff!
      They just dont stand up to the occasional knock ect.
      Cheers though!

    Hi Eric another good vid, interesting developments on your layout, the small area next to the tunnel entrance could be set up with workmens area with a hut and scatter of materials, tools for track work, bits of rail, isolaters few sleepers etc, have you had any dealings with Goodwood scenics, have some interesting gear, well done keep up the good work.

    How about some overhanging vegetation such as strands of ivy buddleia growing out of the retaining wall alongside the siding; that would breakup the long strand of coping at the top and perhaps give some depth to the appearance of wall ?

    Just a thought, for closing panel wall by the tunnel entrance, consider using thin polycarbonate sheet (removable) instead to view trains entering and exiting. Otherwise all good stuff, Thanks !

    • @UndergroundEric
      @UndergroundEric  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unsure 100% what you mean buddy

    • @robertmatthews8302
      @robertmatthews8302 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@UndergroundEric Well, the tunnel entrance at front right of layout recently covered with brick sheeting. Move along to the right more where the closing wall was fitted; Remove said wall and replace it with a polycarbonate sheet of same size. End of ! Now trains will be visible at beginning of underground section.
      Thus adding another point of interest.

    Hi Eric I've been working on the railways for 34 years and I'm a keen model maker. But since this year I've been very poorly and my concentration has gone completely. So i have been watching a lot off model railways on you tube recently. Being I've travelled a lot on the underground trains I've noticed that when people model the underground 🚇 they don't have the full length trains. Is this because off space or is it because the model maker's don't do the center coach to form a three car couple to a four car set. This was to make a 7 car set i.e. Bakerloo train.

    • @UndergroundEric
      @UndergroundEric  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi mate, its usually a space issue yeah. The centre cars are available/can be built but are costly though.
      Shorter trains just mean more space for varied scenery, otherwise the whole harefield road portion of the layout would need to be a platform almost 🙂

    • @pauldyer3312
      @pauldyer3312 ปีที่แล้ว

      @erixtar1992 I understand now as must layouts in modern houses don't have the room. You have to have deep pockets to convert the roof space to get any distance on any layout.
