Welcome to the essence of Nightwish. I mean Nightwish with Tarja, that's another level where the band was at its best. All respect and admiration to Floor but that's the Nightwish that we will never forget.

I never get sick of their version, especially the harmonizing on "the PHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAntom of the Opera is there." 😁
I love the Brightman version of this song but this is also an exceptional version that Marco and Tarja did. They made a great duet here despite all the under currents and issues between the band members at the time. Proof of how good Marco is, having relearned to sing after botched surgery on his vocal chords in the early 90's, is just how good him and Floor currently and how many other duets he has done with other vocalists in the metal genre. You can see why Tarja had such loyal fans many of whom still won't forgive the band and still don't listen to them. I agree with you each singer had talent and in different ways made a mark on NW. Floor I favor only because of the stage presence and persona with the crowd while performing LIVE. Annette had several ballads with NW that are still the best, Slow,Love Slow, Meadows of Heaven and The Crow, The Owl and The Dove. Tarja had several songs that were a perfect fit for her operatic range and Floor seems to be able to do any song she wants especially LIVE. The band as always was outstanding here, real musicians making great music and playing as a real unit, some 10+ years later they are even better today. Great reaction by you to a unique song done by a unique band and excellent vocalists.
Love Tarja, that was Nightwish loved:) Don't forget Wishmaster, another Tarja masterpiece, no one else can do it like that!!!

Yes, Tarja is a real queen and Floor too, I also recommend the songs SLAYING THE DREAMER, THE SIREN, WISHMASTER, PLANET HELL from this concert. In these songs Tarja just shakes her charisma.

Everyone does reactions of this concert, because it was the only concert in Tarja's era they recorded, and there is only a few other good quality live videos. However, I suggest watch earlier Tarja. She sang her first albums in clasical style, and her last 2 albums in more contemporary style. This was her last concert and she was mostly singing contemporay style songs. But see for example Tampere Pakkahuone concert songs which she sings in classical style: much more beautiful in my opinion.

I was not at this particular concert myself, but atleast I have the DVD!
However...
Me and a friend wanted to go to our first Nightwish concert a few months earlier back in 2005. But the only tickets available was in Germany, a different country from my own. It would be expensive with tickets, plane, hotel, etc...
We were about 19 at the time, and didn't have all the money in the world.
I decided to ask my mother to help us out, but as I grew up conservative Christian, my hopes were not very high.
As I expected, she said no.
And I have never faulted her for that!
So we decided to wait for the next tour.
But then, a few months later, Tarja was fired.
There would be no next tour with her.
I got my hopes up when they were looking for a new main vocalist, but then they hired Anette Olsson.
She did a good job in the studio, and I thoroughly love those two albums.
But I was never tempted to see them live with her...
Then back in 2014, I for some reason, got to talking with my mom about that time she refused to help me and my friend go to the concert. I was just being snarky in a humorous way, but she answered:
"Why would I pay for you to go to a concert with a band called Nightwitch?"
"Wait what? Night WITCH?? They are called NightWISH, mom!!"
She said: "Oh... Sorry..."
I never got to witness Nightwish with Tarja because of a spelling error...
But after that she has sponsored me going to Nightwish with Floor twice, so I am a happy camper.
Even though I could pay for it myself at this point 😉

But now it's just a funny story.
And most importantly;
Now that Floor is the vocalist, I rarely miss Tarja 😉

Tarja has them by the family jewels and it is so manifest. just look at 1:00 (crowd) and Jukka at 1:15.. seeing this performancce certainly delinates clearly the vast differences in the Tarja era and Floors period. I think even the mighty Floor would have trouble pulling the ending off like Tarja did here. Although I know there are videos of her doing the song with other bands, and she did it well. Unfortunately Nightwish will never play the song again, without Tarja.

theres a video called learn the set list in 24hrs,its about tarja being unable to continue and another bands singers filling in for a show,then nightwish called floor to finish the tour.can you imagine filling tarjas shoes with 24 hrs notice?incredible testament to thier faith in floor.
Almost correct--Tarja was fired after this concert. Annette replaced her. Floor was called in to replace Annette. It was a good video.

Because you can only hear it from album, and almost everyone reacts to live videos, or music videos.
I have 3 favorites from that album: "Nymphomaniac Fantasia," "Beauty and the Beast" and the one you mentioned.
@@Aurinkohirvi Angels Fall First is my second fave album after Century Child. It's a pity most reactors will never be enriched by classics like Beauty and the beast, deep silent complete, dead boys poem and even sleeping sun.
I mean, Ghost Love Score is fine and all, but there is more than that, so much more.

Floor has sung this a couple of times, but this is the one where she can't measure up to Tarja. Floor botches the last note every time.
She actually does reach the same note in Romanticide, but not off the bat like Tarja does here.

I am sory, but this is the onely one performance of that. Apologizes to fans of Floor, but she could never ever sing like that! (Beacause she had different voice, she is good, but she is not Tarja! Tarja is best for all the times!): How the hell you fire a singer like Tarja? Thats a questions that woke me at the middle of the night.

Meh..... everyone points to the high notes.... and she really has the opera style down.... but.... she is off tempo multiple times, and comes in late more than once.... I'll take floors perfect tempo, timing, and overall better execution of the songs, every time.
