Punisher 2099's creative team was Pat Mills and Tom Morgan. Doom 2099's creative team was John Francis Moore and Pat Broderick. X-Men 2099's creative team was John Francis Moore and Ron Lim. Ghost Rider 2099's creative team was Len Kaminski and Chris Bachalo & Mark Buckingham. And there was indeed a Hulk 2099, launched a the lead feature in 2099 Unlimited #1-6, then his own series starting in December 1994 which ran for 10 issues, by Gerard Jones and Dwayne Turner.
Paul Ryan did an AMAZING sketch of Power Princess (Squadron Supreme) for me at a show in Toronto in 2004. He actually took it back to his hotel and did full watercolors for free! Super nice guy, his sketch is one of my favorites in my sketchbooks.
I had read that John Byrne was originally going to draw a comic in the 2099 universe with Stan Lee writing but they had a difference of opinion and he left the project. I don't know if Marvel turned that into Ravage but Byrne took his ideas and turned it into 2112, the precursor to his Next Men. I also read that Ravage was intended to be related to Killraven from the 70s comics
Very cool video on Stan writing a regular monthly comic mag in the early 90s. He only wrote the first 7 issues but excellent scripting for sure. Ryan on pencils, good artist.
Not being sarcastic: Stan Lee DIDN'T write these issues. They're simply credited to him. It's a fact that any story "written" by Lee in the 90s and going forward were ghost-written by either Jim Salicrup or Danny Fingeroth- Tom DeFalco also did some dialogue changing on Ravage 2099. Facts.
Thank you for this vid. Y'all totally helped me realize something I was doing wrong with a new project I'm working on. Cartoonist Kayfabe never ceases to inspire my creative process. A truly priceless gem of a TH-cam channel. Keep Comics Outlaw AND... #bringbackthespinnerracks.
Ghost Rider 2099 had the best first issue of the entire 2099 line, and it was really good for the first year, it also was under Ghost Rider editors and not the 2099 editor Cavalieri for the first 12 issues. X-Men 2099 was my favourite 2099 book, Ron Lim was great artist on it.
As a young dumb kid the Stan lee name actually got me to subscribe to Ravage, obviously I was an easy mark. Only thing I remember about later issues is Ravage gets a new power to like change into a monster, and it looked super lame!
Heh. I had this. But was so disappointed in how basic the style looked in the era of McFarlane, Larsen & Bagley that I just put it down and never looked back.
Kirby contributed to a total of 119 FF comics at least. Byrne comes in 2nd with 76 issues. Paul Ryan is tied with John Buscema for third place with 58 issues. BTW Paul Ryan is what literally turned me away from FF comics for twenty years. Coming behind the Simonson run, I hung on for another 20+ issues after Paul Ryan came on, but it just killed me. Looking back, his issue 358 of FF was pretty cool, but for the most part, it sucked the life out of my love for FF for a long time.
An Italian magazine in a review called it "super trash", instead of Ravage 🤣 personally I didn't like it but later issues Ravage becomes a kind of beast with great art and there I love it.
I’m pretty sure I heard that Stan Lee actually met with Steve Ditko to draw this comic, and the meeting went really well, but Ditko ultimately turned it down for philosophical reasons.
Please don't base future dives into 2099 on how well the frickin Ravage 2099 video does! That's stacking the deck completely against the concept. :) Spider Man got me to give the line a try, and I liked Broderick's Doom and Bachalo's Ghost Rider. The rest of the comics? They were not for me. To be fair, X-Nation and Fantastic Four seemed like they could have been fun had the line not been sabotaged.
The video title made me think of WCW-era Lex Luger for some reason, haha. Someone who won't carry a broomstick to a 5-star match. Anyways...ah, Marvel 2099. I remember liking Doom 2099 and had a few issues of Punisher 2099. The future Punisher was...I don't know, kinda weird. Not much good memories of that. Would like to see more 2099 titles here (if you haven't cover them already). Just wanna say thanks for your videos. I feel like re-connecting to comics once more.
Pages 2 & 3 has a nice Blade Runner feel. Here's the script: "Bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla..."

Ah, some Paul Ryan love. He was my FF guy, and everybody he drew looked about 45 years old.
Paul Ryan was great! I’ll take him over so many “stars” of the era.

Paul Ryan, Tom Grummet, Jerry Ordway, Kerry Gammill; warm blankets
Solid grouping. Would trust any of them to get the job done without worry!
@CartoonistKayfabe
Kerry Gammill is the founder of The Classic Horror Forum. A great forum about horror movies. Kerry Gammil is a cool guy.
"why ya tellin this guy?" "is he gonna watch." i laughed so hard at that.
Finally, a comic I already owned, and boy... Yeah. 😅

RIP Paul Ryan! Underrated talented artist! Reliable!🎯 I met him in 2004 ,Toronto! Nice guy!🙏
Heh. I had this. But was so disappointed in how basic the style looked in the era of McFarlane, Larsen & Bagley that I just put it down and never looked back.
Haha time to crowdsource a Ravage 2099 remake bootleg
Tom Morgan did Punisher 2099...I remember liking it.

Same. I'm not certain it was all Paul's fault though, unless it was his idea for Sue's stripper costume? 😬
@@CB-ke7eq yeah I think Tom DeFalco had a lot to do with it too.
I just picked this up (again) recently. I kinda love it. 😂
Wasn’t this supposed to be the book Stan wanted Ditko but got turned down? Think it’s referenced in Toms book.
Can you imagine Don Heck drawing Spider Man? Or Larry Leiber doing Fantastic Four? 😂
An Italian magazine in a review called it "super trash", instead of Ravage 🤣 personally I didn't like it but later issues Ravage becomes a kind of beast with great art and there I love it.
That character Tianna is 101% based on Tia Carere? Face, hairstyle, skin color, name
2000AD 2099
I also felt dissatisfaction after reading this when it came out. Definitely the weakest of the 2099 line.
I’m pretty sure I heard that Stan Lee actually met with Steve Ditko to draw this comic, and the meeting went really well, but Ditko ultimately turned it down for philosophical reasons.
I like this series for all the wrong reasons😂 Ed mentioned Canon films, that is indeed a perfect description of this thing. B-Movie trash

Yeah he is 100% a grimjack ripoff as far as costume

uuuuf that was a painful book. but you guys made it very fun.
Man, that series was a waste of Paul Ryan's talents. I've always loved his art.
🤘🖖
