Fact: In the actual myths, Mjolnir could be used by Thor because not of the whole worthiness thing but because of his magic gloves and belt that allowed it to use it safely.
It's like that in D&D too. You don't even need to be attuned to the gauntlets and belt to attune to the hammer. Just wearing them.
Thor's hammer is fatter than ur mom
The Járngreipr were used to either have him not break the thing, or to protec this hands from the weapon itself?
Not only that, but the handle actually broke during the forging process in the myth (or a larger one couldn't be made because of Loki pranking Brok and Sindri, depending on version) and Thor was the only one who could use it effectively because of the unwieldy handle size and safely because of what you mentioned.
I thought it was just so heavy that only he could lift it, and even to do that he needed those magic items
The enchantment on Mjolnir isn't about being a super good guy, it's about being worthy to rule Asgard according to Odin's ideals. Doom is worthy of ruling everything, as he's proven on multiple occasions.
Pretty sure not all universe have the need to be worthy
versions of hulk have actually lifted the hammer!
the way it works in the comics is that it continuously gains mass whenever the person trying to lift it is unworthy.
hulk tries to lift it, it gains mass, he gets frustrated and angry. the more angry he gets, the stronger he becomes. it’s gets to the point where hulk’s rage/strength outgrows the increase of mass.
Imagine if he were to drop it while it's mass is super high and it just falls through the earth
Sounds like a fun little trip for Thor.
*Thor calls up the hammer and it destroys the earth*
Right! so what about world breaker hulk?
@@42lilmike He'll be able to lift it, but it'll keep getting heavier
Squirrel Girl lifts Mjölnir in Squirrel girl beats the Marvel universe, to defeat her evil clone. Because nobody is able to stop Squirrel Girl except herself with an upgrade.
She is low-key one of the most powerful. With the comic coming out I really hope some media is otw
Venom has gone from having to team up with spiderman to kill carnage, to casually killing gods
Venom has gone from city block level to multiversal kinda weird ngl
@@mcbuttstuff venom as a sole symbiot+host pair is still a city level being, one who has ascended was Brock himself, and we count him out as a host since post-KiB his son is the venom's main host
Zeus has an interesting design, because he’s actually more accurate to how Thor looks in north mythology
@@ryansmith-jr4gn he is making a joke because the original comment said north instead of norse
@@Dragonfire-ir5ln but the original comment doesn't even have edits...
@@LunaroseClaire what?
@@Dragonfire-ir5ln misread north as norse in the original comment, thought you were making a joke that was inaccurate, but I just read it wrong.
Doom is able to lift is because he is truly worthy. It’s revealed that in the future Doom was right about everything and no one listened to him :/
Soooo... The hammer can see the future?
@@santyMacias its not about the future, or even doom being correct. It deems him worthy because he truly stands by his convictions
so trump would lift Mjölnir
@@santyMacias It's not about Doom being right about the future. It deems him worthy because he qualifies to wield Mjolnir under Odin's spell
@@Ronabo possibly cause the man did what he said he would do
technically everyone who's ever picked up thor *while* he was holding the hammer, has also picked up the hammer. That's called the transitive property. So basically everyone thor has ever fought has picked up the hammer at least once.
So you’re saying if I gave Chris Hemsworth a piggyback on the set I would have lifted Mjolnir? Hell yeah
Everyone Thor has ever fought has picked him up? There's some major gaps in your logic there.
@@StraightEdgeHeathen I said "basically". That means everyone with super strength, telekinesis, or some other ability to pick up throw thor around.
@@imbreaden Oh god grow up. Marvel is garbage and they ruined Moon Knight. The New MCU costume looks like shit
@@StraightEdgeHeathen THE MCU SUCKS AND THEY RUINED MOON KNIGHT
Fun fact: The way gravity works is that it imparts a force on things within it's influence, and the way that you can stay still is with an object exerting force back. This means any inanimate object is capable of lifting mjolnir. In this essay I will
And because anyone who can lift mjolnir is worthy of ruling asgard all objects on earth can take the throne of odin
@@osciemon not just earth
@@MightyAnik true
You can't mention Loki wielding the hammer in the Cates run without ALSO mentioning the small town mechanic that wielded it just a couple issues later.
There's also I believe a nameless paramedic at one point.
Worthiness to wield Mjolnir is not owed exclusively yo characters of importance. I like that.
In Mark Waid’s Indestructible Hulk run, Hulk managed to lift Mjolnir by getting angrier and stronger than the hammer’s spell could defend against
All I learned here is that it's impossible to have a consistent ruleset for a universe with this many authors.
Venom's time was such a flex. He didn't just pick it up, he literally SUMMONS IT OUT OF ODINSON'S HANDS
Mr Fred Rogers can easily lift and wield it, while making a lesson about life itself comparing it to lifting the hammer (broad strokes: some find it easy, some find it hard, but ultimately, everyone is strong in different ways). He wouldn't lift it, but he could, and in an (obviously non-canon) fan comic, this actually happened.
context: Thor was installing lightning rods in the Neighborhood on behalf of Shield, to "protect it from any storms (he) may be involved in".
You missed a kind of obvious and big one in this list- Big Daddy Odin.
He totally.coverd Odin in the first 2 minutes ...bruh did you even watch the video ?
@@qpN4SiRqp just watched the 1st 2 mins again - twice.. i see Beta Ray Bill and Zeus, no Odin. So yeah bruh, i did watch the video before making my original comment.
He missed another big one: The lady who destroyed the hammer
You forgot one, Magneto. Kept bringing up how certain people didn't really wield it, especially for Hulk in space, but Magneto used his power to use the hammer. I thought Black Widow did at some point, but I guess not.
You forgot about Magneto, the Master of Magnetism.
He was able to lift Mjolnir, via his magnetic powers.
All he had to do was reverse the polarity, like the human magnet that he is.
7:13 The whole point of that story was that Doom ended up not being able to lift the hammer. Does whoever makes these do any research because i still remember when they showed a frame of Superman Prime and called it Ultraman
They got your view. Unfortunately, that's all they care about.
And he didn't even lift it in hell. He saw it fly by, opening a rift to the mortal world, and jumped in it's trail. He didn't hold it.
This is ... just wrong.
Moon Knight recently picked up the hammer because it’s made of moon rock in that Avengers vs Moon Knight story
Where can i get that please tell me
@@toprakatao Avengers 33 which came out in May 2020 thru Avengers 37 October 2020, can’t remember which one specifically is where he picks up the hammer but it was a good little story
@@muthaducker6662 thank you
The best moment is when Eddie Brock welds the Surfers board and Mjolnir at the same time, in order to slay the king in black
God the King in Black ending was the most 90's thing to happen outside of the 90's, AND THEN, AND THEN VENOM FUSES TWO OF THE MOST POWERFUL THINGS IN THE MARVEL UNIVERSE AND STRAIGHT UP BECOMES A TODD MCFARLANE TOY. But DAMN it was cool.
If the molecule man had the enigma force.... would he be on par with the one above all?
Great video topic
You missed *Vision* who technically lifted it without effort, a fantastically funny moment in the McU!!🤗🤗
I don't think their counting anything from the MCU just comic moments
The reason it’s not counted is because he’s a robot no soul, so the rules do not apply to him the same way as a human
And the awesome Android they call it a loophole
this is whatculture comics, focusing only on comics.
@@wyattperkins7478 "an elevator isn't worthy"
Black Panther has also lifted Thor’s hammer. One of his ancestors used it before T’chala was born
that was very dumb though, thats why nobody liked it
Best part in King In Black was when Venom evaporated All Black.
I’m early finally!!! Btw love your vids keep up the good work
What's more op than an nigh-industructible alien organism? One that combines two of the most powerful artifacts in the mcu
Zeus was an act of pure might, Dr Doom had it manipulated, Red Hulk had used the manipulation of gravity and strength, Hulk was just manipulating the momentum and allowed Thor to still hold so it wasn’t heavy, Storm used her own lightning powers and strength also with Thor still carrying the hammer deflected it on to Thor’s head and broke it, and Silver Surfer picked up Thor’s hammer because in the end he had a last ditch effort of pure heroism to defeat Thanos and became worthy at the time
I've a question: do you guys think a hero like Daredevil could be worthy to lift the hammer? Someone with a strong sense of morality but with whole lot of self-doubt and demons he's constantly battling internally. Could he do it? Why or why not?
That venom bit was freaking awesome
I hope Miguel o Hara is on this list, cause it was cool when he did that
The reason why vision could lift Thor’s hammer in age of Ultron is because vision was brand new and hasn’t done anything yet
If Marvel were to ever to a crossover with Shonen Jump, I'd really like to See Jonnathan Joestar lift Thor's Hammer.
That leads to a couple people I'd like to see lift the hammer across several series
natsu from fairytail would swing it around like a flail at a bad guy while screaming his head off.
How about kenshiro. That man might actually be worthy
I think the comic book version, worthiness is you can't be tempted by its power, selfish and willing to kill when absolutely necessary.
Every dude named Erick watching the rest of the video after he said that :😐
You are absolutely wrong about superman being worthy.
Let me guess...you just saw the panel and did not read the rest?
After the fight, superman tries to lift Mjolnir to give it to Thor but...HE WAS NOT ABLE TO LIFT IT.
Translations might change, since I read it in my native tongue (spanish). But Thor explained that Odin, in times of great danger or need, is not as strict as always...meaning that he turned off the worthy enchantment just for a moment.
For Superman, Odin lifted the worthiness enchantment temporarily, not because Superman was unworthy but because he was sort of too worthy. Thor is a warrior, and is therefore willing to kill. Superman however is not, which means he doesn’t fit that particular criteria.
Nice!
Okay the reason Superman lifted Thor’s hammer was not because he’s worthy it was because Odin saw the situation and granted him access to wield it you can’t be worthy for a moment and not be able to pick up the hammer again Superman is weak to magic so it would just make him weaker and Superman already has a shit ton of powers so he does not need something that just adds to it so in conclusion Superman is not worthy
Storm and Thor both have lightning in common... That has nothing to do with the hammer.
Actually, they have more in common. Both of their powers control the weather ie they can both make rain and tornadoes
Plenty of Erik in Norse history lol
Well, my name is Eric, soo...invalid point.
My favorites that have wielded the hammer. Superman, venom, silver surfer and that's it.
Characters Who Lifted Thor's Hammer Mjolnir: all, all of them.
By the mists of fire and ice ❗️
Hulk way is the most fun! :D
In another storyline Spiderman 2099 was able to wield it
“He wielded lightning with the power of mjolnir!!” “Oh yea that happened to my buddy eric once”
Fun Facts: Hulk Has Lifted Mjonir In A Fight With The Avengers In A Official Cartoon And Also He Could Grab Mjonir In The Comics If He Just Got Angry Enough
title: Thor's Hammer Mjolnir
me: Hammer's mjolnir
Storm beating WW was silly, at least the way they did it. The lightning could have done the trick, but one hit from WW would have ended Storm, and she got that hit in.
We need a Marvel vs. DC movie
Back in DC versus Marvel his name was Captain Marvel. This is before that guy decided to change his name to Shazam after making it where Billy Batson was not the main Captain Marvel anymore.
I never thought for a second that Ragnarok was Thor.
5:45 happened to my buddy Eric once
If a marvel vs is ever possible which I highly doubt they should definitely do the poll thing on who should win
5:55 Donald was the name of the original human Thor identity
You forgot about Thor's great-grandfather. It happened during Simonson's run in the 80's.
doom like oden will destroy his enemies but will cherish his people
Black Panther held it too when he fought Moon Knight
i know squirrel girl is revealed to be worthy in The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl Beats Up the Marvel Universe
It's cool that Thor now has a axe named storm breaker
King in black is soo damn dope
Venom! Awesome!
Dude we have seen captain America wilding miornure in infinity war
I love you guys u are my favorite TH-camrs ❤️
Maestro should be on the list, or is he the Hulk from the future? I never know.
It wasn’t Mjolnir that deemed Thor unworthy it was Thor that deemed himself unworthy and yes theirs a big difference
Now anyone can hold it nothing is sacred in marvel comics anymore
Forgot Simon Walterson (aka Throg) from Earth 97161.
MoonKnight has held his hammer
I'll add another possible justification for Doom.
Maybe, just maybe he was worthy since he was in hell, he might as well be one of the few worthy beings in hell at the time if not the only one.
What about Miguel O' Hara aka Spider-Man 2099? 🤔
You forgot how Vision uses Mjolnir against Ultron.
Oooh I'm pretty early, delightful
Aunt Mae could probably juggle three of them. Oh, yeah, and leaving out Odin seemed silly.
I was gunna be so mad is Venom wasn't on this list XD
as a fellow Eric, can confirm Masterson was worthy
I would imagine that DC's Captain Marvel (Shazam) would be worthy.
You forgot Iron Man also in Donny Cates run
I think it was it worldbreaker hulk comic, whete Hulks power grew so fast the hammer...
Which means Hulk got stronget than mojlner could het heavier.
There was a animated Ultimate Avengers movie that had Hulk rage enough to swing one of the hammers. It looked more like Stormbreaker
Yh it was his axe 🪓 it has a name but it is not stormbreaker
Poor vision crying in the corner
Didn't Black Widow once wield Mjolnir in a crazy what if comic, I'm pretty sure that happened
7:10 the Hammer probably wanted to leave hell.
Ouch my partial heritage.
That's not venom. That was eddie brock, because if you read it carefully. Venom and Eddie was forced to separate
Disappointed you didn't honorable mention Deadpool #37.
A guy called Eric 🤣🤣
Wait what 😵
Kinda wish all of the people who lifted the hammer got a new outfit from it
He only question I have now is why does Zeus hate spunk? 0:39
You forgot black panther my friend
Where’s the Frog, man?
Stan Lee once lifted the hammer, but that was in a Lego game so I'm not sure that counts
The hulk wielded the God's hammer in a what if comic book what if the hulk went berserk....
One on one with thanks prior to there fight Thor approach Odin yes to request had made for Thor ; shield staff or sword and belt? Or ? Thor had /has backup equipment!!
JLA/Avengers story was a remake of Contest of Champions and nothing special. The best part was Thor laying Superman out, and when Superman first tried to lift the hammer he couldn't. Eric Masterson was cool.
One can be worthy due to circumstance.
I thought Batman would be here
I hate to be that guy but it wasn't actually venom. When the uniforce possess Eddie Brock it told him to choose a form. And Eddie chose to look like venom even though they weren't used at the time.
