A Conversation with Teresa J. Helm, Jeffrey Epstein Trafficking Survivor And Advocate
Teresa was 22 years-old message therapy student when she was offered the opportunity to work for a high-profile client as a traveling massage therapist. Instead, she ended up being groomed, sexually assaulted, and trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and his network of exploiters.
During this episode, Teresa shares her experience being a sex trafficking victim of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, how she’s used that experience to help other victims in her position at the National Center of Sexual Exploitation’s Law Center, and how parents and caregivers can recognize the signs of grooming.

My youngest daughter was so angry with me for not allowing her to go to her friend's bday party in a hotel with the girl's mom's ex-boyfriend who was constantly spoiling the girl and called us to reassure us that he wasn't a pedophile. We never let her play at that girl's house again, though she was welcome in our house.
I was perfectly willing to let her hate me. I'm a csa survivor.

I learned in counseling at age 29 that if you have been abused as a child, you don't realize that your personal boundary is under YOUR control. The counselor explained it as if there was a bubble around you, but when you have that childhood experience you subconsciously learn that the zipper to get IN to the bubble is on the OUTSIDE and people can come in AT WILL.
A person who did NOT experience that as a child would realize that the zipper is on the INSIDE and that THEY THEMSELVES are the ones that have control over it.
THAT counseling session was powerful and helped me to understand not just the original abuse, but other things that happened to me as a teen and into my 20s.
I am now 61 and have felt healthy, whole and healed for a very long time. My faith in God, and forgiveness has had a lot to do with it. But that counselor really helped me to understand and I am eternally grateful to him for that.

And in an interview about a Canadian perp, a female minor said she brought him other girls because he was disgusting and that way she avoided him and still got paid. She regrets involving others now. @@streaming5332 On the other hand we should be allowed to be naive. A world made up of only cynics isn't a good one. I come from a country where there is a very high trust between people and people are genuinely honest. One of the things that make me really sad when I am abroad is the deep cynicism. Where people miss out on many good things because they are unable to trust others.
Yes naivity can hurt you can so can cynicism. There is not simple answer. Ideally we get better at rooting out exploiters. Naivity also has a positive component in that it allows people to more easily believe and trust victims. A big problem for many victims is the cynicism they are met with. Where people think they are faking it, trying to get advantageous from a sob story etc. In other words cynicism may protect yourself but at the risk of hurting others.

This is just horrible. It’s definitely easier to stop grooming from criminals that are acting alone but when you’ve got someone rich and influential, who can make you feel special as she says herself, that’s a tough one… We need to make sure people in high places aren’t supported by the others around them to do this. I don’t know, I would like to think when I was young that I would see a red flag in being recruited for “work“ but I’m not confident that I would, because you truly are quite naïve and open to opportunities at that age. I like to think that I definitely would not go back after the first weird experience but by that time they’ve probably groomed you enough already (like she said, Maxwell already made her feel so trusting). I also like to think I would just walk to a police station or something but I can’t be sure since this is based on knowing the hindsight. 😢

As a 18-year-old I had a child. I decided to place her in a child beauty pageant, when it was my turn to take her up to be presented they were not interested in her, but in me, the agent asked if I was interested in modeling my gut feeling just didn’t feel right that he asked me that so I said no and I never forgot about that. Another event took place working as a cashier at Sears. I was approached by a doctor, offering me the job as an oral surgeon assistant. Of course, being that I was excited about working with a doctor I went and I applied. Two months into working with this doctor. He tried kissing me and I pushed him away. I did notify one of the other nurses that worked with us and she wasn’t shocked at all. I went home and I told my husband about what took place and he asked me to quit. I went back and told the doctor he needed to apologize but of course he didn’t and I did stay. I told him he should not do that again. His wife worked as the bookkeeper in the office, and I told him that he needed to respect his wife, but of course he didn’t. I came to find out that he was having an affair with one of the other nurses that work there. I stayed there another two months when The doctor asked me to stay after closing hours because he wanted to discuss my education and he wanted to help me. I said, OK I asked one of the other nurses to stay, and she did until she had to leave and he noticed Her leaving. That’s when things got out of hand, he approached me and wanted to caress me and I pushed him away and he wouldn’t leave me. He had me against the door. I told him this is not something I came to work for. I love my job, but I will not do what he wanted me to do to him. he wouldn’t let me go so at that moment, I seek God with all my heart soul and strength and ask God to help me and he did at that very moment he let go. I open the door and ran as fast as I can. I got into my car and drove home. God only knows how I got home safe, I told my husband immediately and my husband wanted to go and hurt him for what he had done to me. I said no leave it alone. I will not go back to work for him that was on a Friday on Monday. I went to the office and told him I will not be working for him, and this is when I went to the unemployment office and file unemployment three weeks later his wife called me and said why had I quit? I told her I’m sorry to say she said don’t be sorry I know what happened. I said I didn’t wanna hurt you or anyone, but I cannot work for him. She said she understood very well.😢😢😢😢
Ten Years After this took place. I decided to go see a psychologist. She told me it was not my fault and the only way I can actually heal myself from all this. Was to talk about it openly to anyone that has an ear and that is exactly what I have done over the last 30+ years.

Many people around me questioned my observation and my sons were always taught what to do in many circumstances not just sexual. All of us in my family of nine were approached and some carried through with the sexual abuse by those in and around our neighborhood and home. I would like to state with much learned by experiences that No one has to trust anyone they don’t feel comfortable around their child. We as parents and guardians are not supposed to JUST TRUST. It’s not normal. Watch a mother animal. They don’t trust anyone around their babies. I’m a Nanny and I welcome video and cameras in the home. It protects me. There are signs that a child is being messed with. They begin to behave differently, they may color very horrific drawings that they hadn’t before the abuse. Children may began to stay in their room, change their hygiene habits, may become very angry, not want to be around their family, secretive, and many other changes. My best advice is to observe and know your child’s personality and be aware of changes but do not toss it up to their age, such as a teen. It’s our business to stay connect to them bc if we don’t, someone else will move in. Children know when they’re neglected, unloved, unwanted, and will be more apt to stray.
I may not be here bc I was picked up as a teen.
I got in the car and he started touching my breast. I demanded he
pull over. I did get out of that one. he was so desperate to touch me he couldn’t wait to stop somewhere. he tried this while driving. I may have been 14-15???
I came away feeling really stupid. I was ashamed that I got into the car and was afraid to walk that way to school again. that’s only one time. I was then raped in the middle of the night and the man told me my sister knew
what he was doing. I was 14.
I didn’t have a mother that cared where I was. I was the black sheep
she had other favorites. After that later episode, I started washing myself x amount of times a day and couldn’t get clean.
When it came out in counseling, I left the office and went to hardware stairs and got lye soap bc I guess I felt regular soap wouldn’t clean me. Again I struggled with washing the ??? off me. So if we pt attention to our children they will show many signs something is not right. I wish everyone blessings and our society to channel their sexual appetite to the appropriate age group and consenting adults not children in age group. It’s a life long curse.

Hhmmm, good query. I'm venturing to guess that @justinotherpatriot1744 is talking strictly about the trauma Teresa was forced to go through especially since there was absolutely nothing even remotely connecting to Mk Ultra in the interview. And I am thinking justinotherpatriot probably never even consider the possibility of Mk Ultra being the cause of Teresa's eye twitch. But I don't know; I am just guessing that possibility didn't cross justinotherpatriot's mind let alone proverbial radar since I am not a mind-reader.
Anyway there are multiple reasons for an eye to twitch like trauma, tics, Tourette's, other nervous and autonomic nervous system disorders, impaired functioning of gross and fine motor skills and processes and so forth.
Anyway I am thinking Teresa's eye twitch probably has nothing to do with Mk Ultra. But it is an interesting or maybe the term I am looking for is curious proposition to bring up. But I am just not noticing any connection at all whatsoever between Mk Ultra and Teresa's eye twitch. But you could be right as nowadays it seems like anything and everything is not only possible but very likely that they could happen. Sad world and times we live in now. *Sigh!* 😞

Its easy to think "oh it would never happen to me or my child..." but you just never know and we know alot more about grooming now in recent years but still there have been so many victims who even when they report abuse or assaults or rape still do not get the help or support they need from various authorities and police.
We have a long way to go to empower more young girls and boys too to understand what healthy relationships look like and also to institutions to play their part of protecting those who report abuse.
As the speaker emntioned there also needs to be decent comprehensive sex and relationship and all round emotional literacy education and schools need to be looking our for children who are vulnerable to abuse and knowing how to see those kids who may need a safe person to go to and report.
Our societies are still letting children and young people down and those who are abused overall. It is too normalised to watch porn and push boundaries that are not supposed to be pushed.

Right now there is an epidemic of young college girls doing Onlyfans and other sex work. A recent study showed around 33% of college girls in the US are involved in some kind of sex work work like Onlyfans.
Women have never had more freedom or options, jobs and education opportunities, but 1 in 3 college girls still feel the need to do sex work.
I think its misguided to think if we just arrest all the Epsteins of the world, girls will stop doing sex work. Girls are doing it anyway, through Onlyfans and online, with no help from others..

No, actually "money [does not] rule the world." Money is just a tool that can be used for either good or bad. It's all in how it is used that is either good or bad for "the love* of money-|- is the root of all evil." So it's greed and avarice that rule the world.
Greed and avarice for absolutely anything that will help anyone with obtaining by illicit or illegitimate means absolutely anything they want, wish, desire etc to have. And they get what they want by pernicious manipulation, subterfuge, intimidation, obstinacy, absurdity etc.
Ok, I just realized that you said "Some sickos perversion with money,". My apologies for missing that at first glance. But I am letting stand what I have said.
Anyway, "God is [definitely] angry" and HE will send down HIS wrath upon the wicked world in a moment when we are not expecting it to come at that time whenever it is unless some of us are blessed to know when that time will be. Otherwise, we have absolutely no idea when that time will be especially if we are >of the world< ie worldly. The rest of us will have to have absolutely perfect and strong faith that God's timing will be perfect and HIS vengeance exacting since HE says, "Vengeance is mine. I, the Lord, will repay." And HE is always faithful to execute HIS Word of Promise. The fulness of the cup of HIS wrath will come upon all they who do wickedly and will come suddenly and swiftly that the wicked will have no time left to prepare for it. But they who are righteous, they are the ones who are prepared for HIS wrath to come. And because of their righteousness and preparation, they shall be spared the punishment of the wrath of God the Father.
And when Jesus comes back the second time, "He will come as a thief in the night, for no man (ie human) knoweth the hour nor the day that the Son of Man cometh. No, not even the angels which are in heaven, nor the Son but the Father only."
So please, everyone, let us all repent and re/turn to the Lord our God Jesus Christ and be washed clean and white as snow in the Blood of the Lamb of God and live forever more according to every word that proceeds forth from the mouth of the Father. And watch, therefore steadfastly with a bright hope in Christ Jesus. This I pray for in the Blessed, Sacred and Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
NOTES: *Love can also be translated as "want" as in "wanton". -|-Money can be substituted by literally anything that would help anyone with obtaining through illicit or illegitimate means what they want. So, basically, anything or anyone who replaces God as our object of desire, thus placing them before or even in the stead of God, is absolutely detestable to HIM and must be to us as well. So it's not just the love of money that is at root of all evil but the love of literally anything that replaces God in our lives is at the root of all evil. The word "money" used in the famous New Testament passage is a corrupted ie corroded ie crude translation of the word "mammon" which roughly translates to "the things of the world" or "that which is worldly."

This is so moving. In my case, there was only ONE actual occasion where I was raped, at age eight. 60 years on I'm still trying to heal, still learning, still unpacking stuff from boxes marked "Danger: Do Not Open".

@@annhenry1226 Actually, SIXTY years ago. After the fact of the assault itself, the main damage done was by other adults who told me to be quiet about it: my parents, the examining doctor, the police. I was asked why I obeyed my - obviously, much larger & much more powerful! - adult attacker (alone, on a beach). It seemed that the attack was my fault. I felt vile, filthy, unworthy, a liar, and - obviously - very wrong. I barely talked to my schoolmates for the rest of my primary & secondary education, especially not the boys, so I knew hardly anyone's names. I loathed team sports: I never knew whose side I was supposed to be on. There were many, many horrible consequences that continued unfolding well into late middle age, which I will not enumerate here.

I can understand why she may not want to share specific details, but it would be informative to know what she means by being assaulted by Epstein.
Learning what assault is & how it's done is a big part in helping others to recognize it immediately, earlier rather than doubting whatever happened was actually not ok.

    • @ilexevergreen5405
      @ilexevergreen5405 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Maybe it's overt in her case, but it's not always immediately clear that how you're treated is wrong.
Same for the child sexual abuse she endured. If there are signals she missed that she could share it could help others to know what to look for.

Is there such a thing as an online predator hotline for children to call if they feel like they have been approached sexually online and they don't want to tell their parents but no, they need to stop talking to this person who is threatening them.

There are also survivors of naracistic abuse. Naracists all work under the radar and use their charm and connections to get away with all their activities. We all need to regain our power and keep barriers high against naracistic abusers and all their flying monkeys. May we all find honest loyal people who understand abuse and trauma and who have the correct knowledge and know how to help and encourage others. Helping is healing is very very true. When we help others, we also strengthen ourselves in the process and grow stronger. Grooming is also used by naracistic abusers who use these techniques on their targeted victims. Thank you for this video.

Did you ever get the guy sentenced? Was it in your case similar to here in that it was primarily psychological manipulation at first? Or was physical violence used early on? I am trying to educate myself on this as I feel Hollywood movies have made trafficking seem to be primarily about physical violence and threats while when listening to real victims it seems psychological manipulation and blackmail is more how the real world works. I feel people need to understand this better to take what women like yourself experience more serious.

I wonder why people who have been violated use the word 'grooming'. This word is the perpetrator's language. Think about it! This word normally applies to dogs and horses also implies training, dressing, preparing. This is NOT the child or vulnerable person's perspective. So why do people constantly describe the abuse from the perpetrator's perspective? For the vulnerable person, it is devious manipulation, exploitation, violation, etc.

My daughter and son-in-law took out their T.V. when their daughters were born. Then they shut off their wifi. They are older now and homeschooled with limited computer use which is monitored always. I think self-confidence and the ability to ask any question they have to parents who listen and answer is a good start to protect children from predators. Parents need to really know what kids are doing both on computers and out in the world. It is difficult to do when both parents work outside the home. I am thankful that Teresa is safe now and helping people recover.

Why are young women in particular so seemingly attracted to attaining a fine lifestyle of travel and nice things? I’m being serious. I know many people think it’s obvious why but to me I really don’t get it. Especially when you are 22 and haven’t even entered the work force yet. Isn’t it obvious that there is a process involving putting in the work, along with planning and patience that must come before these “finer” things in life come to fruition. Red flags should be going off all over the place when you are that age and being told sometime you haven’t even met yet are going to just give you these things. There are NO shortcuts in life. If you meet a nice guy who speaks of these things early in a relationship you should know he is not a quality guy. Humble, modest people don’t operate like this. You are looking for the guy that isn’t talking a great game but is in school and has a plan and a set direction. Avoid the entrepreneurs. At that age stick to your age range. You want to grow with your partner not parachute into his so called fine lifestyle. He is expecting something for fast tracking you. Slow down girls. Life has seasons to it. When you’re married to a guy for 20 years and then in your 40’s with good planning and string careers, then you can start living a finer life. Fast track = trouble.
