i am working as MO in Karachi at tertiary care hospital in cardiac surgery unit. I have 4 years of clinical experience. Recently I got registration with SCFHS after passing SMLE. My plab 1 passed in August 2024 and my IMC registration will active in march 2025. Currently i am very confused about buying Work visa for Saudi job hunting. Because of my financial situation. I am confused between Plab2, IMC activation expenses and Work visa buying expenses. If i buy work visa and couldn’t find job in KSA then how i will bear expenses of plab 2 and IMC activation. Please suggest me what should i do now.

Instead of buying work visa for Saudia, invest that money for your Plab2 expenses. If you pass out Plab 2 you can get residency in Uk as well. So go for plab first and keep looking for good opportunities in Saudia side by side.

That's another question as to why they come to Saudi after passing UK or USA exams. Merely passing MRCP will not exempt them from SMLE. They must complete CCT. But those who are Amrican Board certified they have completed postgraduate training so they are also exempt.

The Nitaqat program, introduced in 2011, classifies private sector companies based on their employment of Saudi nationals, with specific quotas varying by industry and company size. In the healthcare sector, this means that positions such as GPs are increasingly being filled by Saudi citizens to meet these quotas. 
However, there is a recognized shortage of Saudi physicians, particularly in primary care. A ministerial committee review found that the number of primary healthcare physicians was 40% less than required. This shortage has led to a reliance on expatriate doctors to fill the gap. 
The Saudi government is actively working to train and employ more Saudi nationals in the healthcare sector. As a result, while expatriate GPs are still employed, there is a concerted effort to increase the proportion of Saudi nationals in these roles over time.
